If you watched this clip and didnt understand the majority of it you’re not a football fan bro lol. Of course fans don’t know as much as coaches but let’s not act like 12 personnel is some complex subject bud.
Exactly. The intelligence and strategy involved in the game of football is more than most realize. I recently saw video on TH-cam of Nick Saban when he was the head coach at Michigan State. He was giving a seminar to other coaches. High school and college. Honestly it was like watching a tenured professor give a masterclass on football. It was really cool to watch.
Lions fan here. Big difference in knowing the game, and knowing how to lead men. This guy gets pushed into traffic if he walks down a sidewalk in Detroit.
@@snowign7 players like him, which is why quite a few left New England to join the Lions when he was there. Lions problems were the crappy front office.
I remember talking about those Ravens drawing DPIs and people thought i was whining. They thrived off Flacco tossing those deep balls up. Its not smack talk, its legit strategy for these teams
Matty P is a great example of the importance of relationships to success. BB loved this schmuck for some reason so he got to coach for a decade plus. This dude was such a terrible HC. Ive never seen someone alienate their own guys quicker than this clown. Within the 1st week of camp he had already lost the team, dead man walking. Was he ever good or was he just running what BB schemed up? Im going with the latter, this dude sucks
Personnel in football can be broken down with the first digit being the running backs, and the second being tight ends (i.e. 11 personnel is 1 RB, 1 TE, 3 WR while 12 personnel is 1 RB, 2 TE, 2 WR)
Through my almost 3 decades as a lions fan I've seen some shitty regimes running things. None come close to the quintricia one. The patriot way😂😂 worked for shit here. Dude alienated 3 quarters of the team within the 1st week of camp. Remember him riding his stupid 4 wheeler every time I see him. Imagine asking your guys to give u there all, go as hard as possible and you cant be bothered to walk to different position groups. What a clown
1. He was a bad DC. Stats lie. Watch the games. 2010-2017 Pats defenses were bad. Then becane better once Matt left and Flores, Mayo, Bill JR took over. 2. A below average but underrated OC. Mac just was Mark Sanchez and there wasn't much roster to go with. Better OC than advertised. Bad but not awful. 2021 Mac and Josh McDaniels was all about a 4 game fluke. Some bad teams w great turnover luck and insane field position. Macs all time greatest game vs Browns. Those games (blowouts) Vs Browns, Titans practice squad, Jets, Jaguars. Take those away - he was 12 TDs to 13 ints and got the 28th scoring offense. 2021 was a mirage. Josh Mc wasn't that good- Mac either. Roster was though. Patricia the OC was dealt a bad hand. Tried to incorporate some West Coast of what he heard around the league but just wasn't familiar. Bill O'Brien is a better OC than Josh McDaniels. Or even Matt. And the offense was at like 12ppg w him. It wasn't solely a Patricia issue. Offense was just bad and 2021 had 4 fluke games. Pats in 2021 outside those 4 blowouts couldn't score either.
@BillDoughzer69 had Matthew Stafford and "the patriot way" for a couple years with the lions. Their offense blew too. Baffling how matty p had such a long career. Dude sucks, as a coach and even more so as a leader. Never seen a HC alienate his players quite as quickly as pencil boy did. The bellicheck coaching tree😂😂😂
Really??? So giving up over 500 yards to a backup qb in a superbowl was a great performance to you? It's the only time in the entire NFL history where a qb threw for over 500 yards in a SB and lost. Where exactly has he succeeded at? I'll wait.
This is when you understand that most people who think they understand football have no idea whats its really like.
Levels to the game, all about layering on players properly.

The amount of knowledge shared on this show is great

Not even a pats fan and this is common sense, you would think

@crizzonet There were lots of problems. But Matt made them much worse. Just compare his record vs the coach he replaced in Detroit.
I remember talking about those Ravens drawing DPIs and people thought i was whining. They thrived off Flacco tossing those deep balls up. Its not smack talk, its legit strategy for these teams
I hate the Pats & always will (Falcons fan) but there’s a lot of good nuggets in this

Buddy, clean up in aisle 10. Stick to what you know
What's 11 personnel? Or 12?

This guy would be a great Chipotle manager.
Respect Patricia
After this shit show in Detroit I'm shocked that anybody would hire this man
DId he get ANY wins as Philly DC?

@@NightSkeptic nope. he was a worse dc in philly than the guy he replaced mid season, sean desai
@joshlewis575 yeah. Maybe he got smarter with all the weight that he lost...🤣
It does not matter how much you know if you cannot relate and be respected by your players!
The worst OC ever
Nah, Alex Van Pelt was actually worse
Then why couldn’t he do this as a head coach? 🤔
This is absolutely fascinating football stuff
Ill never throw shade at the man as a DC. BUT, Ill also never understand why Bill put him at OC.
If you know defense you know offense and same reversed

Byron Leftwich, Mike Martz, Cam Cameron, Anthony Lynn, Matt Canada were worse than Patricia
@@erikpuka2627 that doesn’t make Matt any less worse than he is, lol. Those people are meaningless scrubs.

In his defense, I don't think that was Matt's idea.
All Patricia did was run cover 1 man he wasn’t a good coach
Not true lol
@ Flores was a way better DC and actually showed up in the SB
