    26:28 One sign that Power Leaked leftist rioters in America unwittingly support massive externality systems is their expectation that casually burning down someone else's business is no big deal cuz, like, can't they just order another cheap one to be shipped in from China? Worse still is their expectation that the dozens of people killed by rioters could just order another life. Any claims of a "revolution against global capitalism" which insist on maintaining the real objective factor of the objective factor cannot be taken seriously

    I have seen a few of your videos and found them very interesting. As someone who has read JMG's writings on ecology, technology, peak oil, etc., I agree with your points in this video. I have a request for you: could you do a series on the philosophy of Sri Aurobindo, particularly a review of his book 'The Human Cycle'?

    Can you provide some examples of what would actually cause the power to leak. Like is it all the unnecessary filler jobs required to pass things from machine to machine? Is it these massive hubs of production which have to transport across the world? Is it the more layers of command required to control over a large base as opposed to just the one autonomous worker who gets exactly what he puts in out?

    • @chadahaagphilosophychannel7329
      @chadahaagphilosophychannel7329  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks. I think that doing a video on the topic will be necessary. the full answer is in my book Hermeneutical Death where I wrote on it in depth, it'll be out in just a few weeks. Basically for me, the larger the exteranlity system becomes the more hermeneutically impoverished the individual becomes, until eventually he or she can't interpret anything as such but will rather channel the technological system's commands as a literal cog in the machine.

      Chad A. Haag Peak Oil Philosophy I’ll be sure to pick one up bro. So we can safely assume that one of the main reason of these power leaks developing despite them obviously being a net negative is because of the nature of self propagating systems kaczinsky talked about. Where they focus one short term gains like disposing of waste in the most effective manner possible only accelerated by the fact that the power becomes inevitably concentrated in a small area of these CEOs and teams of big corporations which inevitably attracts corrupt personalities and enables them with money to expand waste disposal beyond the level that the small autonomous community workplace or individual could never achieve?

    Are there any videos where you go over the meaning of "power leak" and "power leaked individuals" at depth? Also your book on Linkola just arrived in the mail, so if there is anything in there on the subject you can also point out where I'll find it.

      First of all, thanks a lot for checking out the Linkola book, I hope you enjoy your reading experience. As for the Power Leak, the main video where I discuss it is my video on Sayyid Qutb. The fuller explanation though is in my upcoming book Hermeneutical Death. I am just finishing with the editing so it's only a matter of days before it's released. I discuss this work by Greer in depth in this new book as well.

I will check out that video next, it is one of the few I actually haven't got around to yet so no wonder I was out of the loop! Oh and the Linkola book has been great so far, which I say as a fellow reader and interpreter of Linkola (rather than someone who became acquainted with him through you). Can't wait for your next book, your thought has had an immense impact on what is currently my PhD thesis proposal in the making. Greetings from Finland, I hope India is treating you well.

      @@olindblo Thanks again, glad to hear you have found the book interesting. The Sayyid Qutb video was done in response to one of my patrons who wanted to include him among the list of "forbidden thinkers." I definitely agreed with the assessment and actually found him to be something like an Egyptian version of Julius Evola or Rene Guenon. I'll see about doing a video series on his longer book Milestones. Also, interesting to hear you are from Finland, definitely a fascinating place with a lot of natural beauty. Also, york work as a scholar definitely sounds exciting, may I ask what your PhD is in (i.e., Philosophy etc.)? It's good to hear that great work is still being done.

      @@chadahaagphilosophychannel7329 PhD is in philosophy yes, but more specifically I work with education, so my work straddles philosophy and pedagogy (both of which I studied for BA and MA); for my PhD I am focusing on our relation to technology and technological society in the context of educational institutions. You can perhaps already sense how your work would be relevant.

I have one video on the Technological Society by Ellul but I'll be doing a much more thorough series of videos on that book soon, as I'll be writing a reader's guide for it as well. Would definitely like to hear your thoughts on the topic when I get around to starting that series in a few weeks. Thanks again for your support.

      Not at a fast enough rate to keep up with the population growth. Peak oil simply means that it will become TOO EXPENSIVE to extract fossil fuels. For example, if it costs $100 MILLION to extract $90 MILLION worth of oil, which oil company is going to do that?
