I appreciate you taking the time to put out these type of videos I am currently in the process of moving from flatbed to specialized/heavy haul, and I need every ounce of experience and knowledge from you vets in heavy haul, thanks!💪
I just got my class A at the beginning of the month and have always been fascinated by oversize loads. Never actually looked into how a lowboy works and finally searched on TH-cam. Your video was the video that seemed the most legitimate, and I'm super happy I watched. Thank you!
What transmission are you running? More specifically how many speeds? Thought about way down the road after I get plenty of experience and if I can afford it, starting my own company focusing around heavy machinery loads.
New subscriber here. Thanks for running through your process, I really like your format. I'm a flatbed lumber driver thinking about transitioning to lowboy and channels like yours really make a big difference when thinking about transitioning to a completely different industry. Nice job!
I'm sure 99.9 percent of truckers got into trucking for the freedom of the road but then reality hits and most jobs are routine and mundane, you and the guys that do what you do still have some of that freedom left so enjoy it while you can, and keep on making these videos
Thanks for another great video! I appreciate you explaining the way you secure the loads. Great view of your truck from top of the excavator. Stay safe. Hello from Houston Texas.
Those scammers are everywhere bro. Someone got hold of my credit card and they used over 2k of it from Moldova. Great educational content. Thanks lot for the helpful tips
I will be active on my other Instagram page, grtruckingdemolitionllc Thanks to everyone that has been supporting me and what I do. If you know anyone that follows me on Facebook let them know that the page got hacked. I don’t want anyone to believe it’s me if they get a message.
I just got out of heavy haul after 2 1/2 years experience to go LTL for more money, less work. I kind of miss that long nose 18spd 8 axle setup; I've had my share of long days and mess ups, but it will make a man out of you; I respect the hustle. Be careful out there driver, and God Bless You 🫡 🤙
@MsElPardo2 Yeah, man, shocked me too.I started driving in 2021 fresh out of trucking school and started in a rock bucket at a mid-size asphalt paving company in Central Louisiana at $18.50. Bugged em til they put me in a lowboy, bumped me up to $21.50. I rode it out another year before I drug up. A guy that had been there less time than me was making more than me because he was a kiss ass. I asked for a 2 dollar raise and was declined so I hauled ass. I make $32/hr now, and work 45 -50 hours a week instead of 70. Just put it this way, I make more money on straight time than I did on over time hauling equipment. I think I was just at a bad company. Companies don't like to pay shit in the South. They want to nickel and dime you to death. I liked doing heavy haul and would still do it if I could find a local company that paid $28+ an hour
I've learned to tighten my load down with the bags up bcuz once you raise that trailer with the chains already tightened, they loosen up once the trailer is raised up. Sometimes, it feels like the chains tightened after raising the trailer, though!
The widest thing we have that I've hauled so far is just a 1055 Cat paver! I guess the escavators would probably be the widest other than that or maybe the shuttle buggy, too. I haven't hauled neither. The motor grades are probably the longest thing we have. I can't wait to get my experience up and haul some real shit!
Keep grinding man! Big inspiration to a lot of people including myself! Was wondering if you can make a video on how you got in too heavy hauling and how you started! Im a trucker in Denver Colorado!
Get a job at a heavy/highway construction company. That’s always a great start. We go through drivers every couple months it seems like. I’m a heavy equipment operator but always get screwed over in the Lowboy cause we have no one to move equipment.
Can you make a video on how to approach small inclines like the one a train track. I seen videos where people with lowboys get stuck on them for some reason
People get stuck because they go to slow over train tracks, drop a gear and pedal down on the floor it will slow you down when it makes friction but will make it
Hey! I love your videos! 😊 Quick question: As a driver, what’s a typical rate to load an excavator like this? Do you usually charge per mile or by weight?
What’s the regulation on flags and strobes? Seen you have spots on the back of the trailer for flags as well. There are a few differences from how it’s done here in Northern Europe. Greetings from Sweden 💪
Keep the chains tight. Tight so they’d be solid I see chains on trucks on the highway they loose and moving around. Not good. All chains in proper areas hooked onto machine and trailer. Hook onto strong points of the machines and the trailer. If possible, crossing a chain or wrapping it around something I have done before and it worked. Chalk wheels on machine if need be. That’s the shit everyone. They make chain binders that you can tighten with a impact drill. They are handy but you have to bring your drill with you which is also money like the binders were. I do it the man way and work the arms out. Some lowboys got magnets 🧲 you can turn on. I have them on mine it’s sweeet.
Aren’t those tracks way to dirty to go down the road? The DOT don’t give you a hard time about that? I clean them more than that personally great content keep up the great work stay safe and happy holidays.
Not really I had a dot ride about 3/4 miles to me on the highway I’m guessing looking at chains pulling my license plate info and machine had some mud like that on it. He took just speed up and took off after a while of being next to me

Great to hear!
I have a 10 speed on my trucks. Now if you plan on getting really heavy I would advice a 13/18 speed

Unfortunately it varies from state to state. Makes it very difficult to be legal 100%
