Went to Puerto plata about 2 years ago ....I’ve been going back and forth every 6-8 weeks ...... ...bought a truck about a year ago..... no more taxis....so cheap to stay there once you give up the resorts.....Airbnb is usually $20-30 a night....women are beautiful , food is fresh... plenty to see and do
Great content as usual Mr T. You keep putting out awesome videos. What a great day when I book that flight there and know hay I am coming home. Love it, love it there.
I got interested in possibly owning property in the Dominican Republic after seeing how beautiful the beaches were in music videos on youtube. This is good info, thanks! One of my coworkers is from there.

Another last one of the official babyboomer year speaking: I lived the first couple of months of my staying in the DR in the countryside of La Vega, the two following years in Puerto Plata, after that one year in Samana, despues six months in Puerto Plata again and ever since over 21 years in Jarabacoa-best place in the world. I believe that the quality of expats got better over the years but back in the 90s you had many, many expat criminals on the run from their home countries in the northern areas who tried to make their living by their shady deals. I believe in this sense it got much better over the years and these characters died out slowly. Anyway if I take a beach vacation I always prefer the North Coast-might be Cabrera, Sosua, Rio San Juan, Samana or else...
Hi Tim, and thanks for both watching again, and for your story/experience - yes there's a lot of nice places here. More videos coming soon, please stay tuned! Brgds Mr.T

Hello Gabe! I believe the answer very much depends on which expat you ask. Single folks might prefer DR, where I.e. retired couples might prefer some of the more tranquil towns of Panama. Most who talk about Panama city, don't seem eager to return. DR is definitely quite affordable, yet for most retired folks, it takes some serious readjusting to get used to the hustlers and bad service, as here it's so much about who you know. If you're keen on some relocation consultancy, then simply send me an e-mail to info@educatedtraveler.info Brgds Mr.T

Great video!.... man, tell that dude to be SUPER careful about that "Dream City" gingo project.....i get the attraction, but it is exactly the kind of thing that begins to degrade the community and intimacy that is so very special in that area now, and attracts so many away from those other cities.....no question, no matter good intentions, that it will widen the "us and them" vibe.....always does....
Thanks Robert! I haven't seen or heard a squeak about them ever since the CV attacks started, and tourism has been almost eradicated here. Take care! Brgds, Mr.T
