Thanks for the positive review of the Canon XA60B I'm having an issue with my Canon XA60B. My videos look fantastic on smaller screens like phones and laptops, but they appear overly stretched and grainy when played on larger TVs (55 inches and up). I'm wondering if there's a camera setting causing this. Can you help me troubleshoot?
Hi, does it support Canon Log format (CLOG or CLOG3)? Also, can you power with a USB C PowerDelivery unit? Lastly, does it have the remote port to control zoom with an external zoom control device? Thanks.
I have two of these cameras. For sport and action there is actually a own setting for that. But I would not recommend shooting in 4k for fast movements. The it´s better with 1080 50 frames pr second. That will give you way more details and sharpness in the movements in comparance to 4k 30fps.

This really wasn't very helpful I was hoping that you would be showing your settings for this camera. I can't find any info on good set up for this camera
I agree with the points Gus makes here however there are a few other things to consider if you’re shooting wildlife videos. Firstly you only get 25/30p in 4K and only 50/60p in 1080 so you won’t be able to capture great slo-mo if you’re shooting something flying like bird or a bee or moving fast like a rabbit etc and these cameras only shoot in 4:2:0 8 bit (no log profile) so colour grading and dynamic range are limited. If that’s not an issue then the zoom range an focus on this camera will serve you well.
It depends on the budget. A lot of high end documentaries like the ones David Attenborough hosts are shot on cinema cameras with very long, fast and expensive lenses and many other medium budget films are shot on high end camcorders like the Canon XF 605 because they have more professional codecs such as prores, higher frame rate options, log profiles and all Intra options but if none of that is an issue then the zoom range an focus on this camera will serve you well.

How come my quality doesn't seem to match 4k from other cameras when editing?

I believe camcorders are a great choice for wild life, the ability to zoom in and out from far away, plus everything is mostly in focus.

The image quality is poorer on the camcorder than the setup you use to present with.

no, there is no crop when digital stabilization is on.
