very sneakily, this is one of the best lessons I've seen yet on how proper backhand grip is applied. Thanks Paul.

Omg. I'm listening to your tips as I'm putting in my basement, and when you said fingers to the sky for push putts, it clicked. 30 footers are going in with ease. Now, hopefully, when I'm out on the course, my arm won't feel like it weighs 10 lbs heavier from the pressure of the putt.😂
Thanks Uli. Keep the content coming👊🙏

Thank you for making this video! I picked up the backhand grip pressure from video that you did with Joseph at Kilborne. @ 7:34 of that video, you showed the other gentleman that you were playing with, this tip.
I immediately went out to try it. I had been able to throw my Wraiths up to 400' prior, I take the distance drivers out of the bag for the winter time (I live in the Midwest), but by implementing this grip pressure change, I have started throwing my brand new star Valk 400' on the nice weather days. I can't wait to see how far my distance drivers fly this spring/summer!
Also - Shoutout PDGA gang! I signed up the first day that you announced it during Disc-mas, a couple of years ago! It is a great resource for whatever part of your game that you are trying to work on and the community is awesome and engaging!

great tips, I have been gripping the backhand wrong. Was putting most of the pressure with my pointer finger. Have to get out and try your examples

The putting pressures I think will help me quite a bit. I've been using spin putt pressure points with push putt motion

While there is merit in focusing on last point of contact, I think if you put a slow motion camera on your forehand throw, you'll find that the disc is leaving your hand *way* (like 45-90 degrees) before you actually point your fingers at the target. We all like to think that we're pointing at the target when we release (whether it's BH, FH or putt), but we almost never are. It has to do with the fact that when you translate a swinging arc motion into linear throw motion you have to release on the tangent to the arc for it to go "straight". If you actually released at the point your fingers are pointed at the target, every throw would look like a severe grip lock.

I have a pretty good callus right below my index finger where it meets the palm from forehand, but nothing on index or middle finger. I use the sexton/Stokely grip, but I've tried them all and only get the callus at the one point.

    Try throwing without a hoodie.
Game changer bro! I can't stand having things flying around when I'm driving or putting. 😅

I came to this video for the FH technique, learned I already do that, but the BH grip part is so $$$. I'm dying to get back on the course and throw when this snow melts... don't talk to me about snow rounds I'm soft & from the south, besides the "snow" is 2/3rds ice in NC. Stay warm!

I think im one of those pop guys. When i throw, you can hear an audible snap, but i only averages about 330 350 with a driver. So i agree that "pop" doest equal distance

Hey Paul, by far the hardest callus i have is on my pointer finger berween knuckle and the first joint. Its diagonal and comes from the edge of a disc. You didnt mention it so im thinking that am i gripping wrong or too hard with pointer?
I have average not so big guy hand size for reference.

I would just play around with switching the pressure between fingers, a little less with that one and more on others. Not being with you it would be hard to tell.

Most girly men don’t have callouses. So they have no idea what you’re talking about.
