Those clamps are great for so many projects. I’ve used them for mounting hydraulic hoses and piping to backhoe booms. And now they’re for antennas! Great idea!
Hi John. Great talking to you yesterday i appreciate you giving me a call. you were booming here. your new maco antenna working really well. Glad your all ok. Look forward to speaking to you again keep safe my friend. Best 73s. WR456🇬🇧 Richy.
Good job reparting that old vert twice or more. I am waiting on the antron99 failing due the solar breakdown dread the thought of sending my boys up to get it down and avoid 15 plus years of fiber slivers plan is to replace with aluminum as well as the 100ft coacx upgraded to 213 still deciding the new antenna
I would just like to share this. I also built a similar antenna as this for 10 and 11 meters. Because of an upcoming typhoon to hit our area, I put the antenna down. I put it down in such a way that the antenna is horizontally 28 inches off the ground. And what do yoy know, I made a couple of contacts to Indonesia with 50 watts on 10 meters from where I'm at here in the Philippines. Even I can not believe it. 73 everyone.
I believe if I am not mistaken that the antenna should be insulated from the two clamps that you installed. It will change your swr because you have made the clamps electrically connected to the antenna. I could be wrong but if you already have the antenna tuned then why reinvent the wheel?
Hey Mower Junkie! I've got a Uniden Grant XL project I'm working on. While replacing the meter I realized the plastic piece the meter slips into is gone. The previous owner hacked in a meter from another CB. Do you have one you can sell me?
I think kate CE 0 NB1 needs a beam antenna UDX-151 maybe she can hit skips in USA i saw her livestream today on her radio it was around 8am my time today.
What are those green things called ? Stealth Clamps ? I couldn’t hear it . I have a sack full for I think 3/4 or 1/2 inch , whatever my Maco elements are I don’t even know what they’re called , I call the element clamps 🤷🏼♂️

nice upgrade, guess we'll see it next time you get it out.
have a great day
I couldn't resist....it's on my test pole. I mounted it after I posted this video, and I have already talked to England on it.

Talk about good-old yankee engineering and creativity, but then again your from MA., well done again John !!
Thanks so much, 73's
Good thing that Jeep is there to lend a helping roof. 🙂
It needs a Cessna prop spinner over the center for a cool look and to protect connection.
It's like NPR's Car Talk for CBs!
John that is awesome 👍 I wanna watch you build a quad my friend and test it versus your yagis

So you didn't notice the big green plastic insulators? the antenna is fully isolated from all the mounting hardware.
@ so the clamps were plastic? Sorry I didn’t understand that they were plastic I thought they were metal. My apologies!
That turned out really nice. ✌✌

Thanks bud. I’ve been trying to figure out the name
UDX-151 knows how make cb radio beam antennas you should sell them to people.
👋
Very nice..
