Honestly I feel so mixed, part of me is surprised that jumpstart even lasted that long, and part of me just can’t believe it’s gone now. I love jumpstart, it felt like my home and now it’s gone. I love it so much and I’m happy about the memories it gave me
2024. Only just learned that jumpstart went down last year after suddenly remembering all the mythies I had. I had to have played JS for at least four years before I finally lost my account info due to our family getting a new computer. I'm twenty, almost twenty one now, but damn I'd honestly be so down to play this game again, if only to see my mythies. Honestly surprised it even made it all the way up until 2023, that's pretty insane really. Rest in peace, World of JumpStart. Core part of my childhood.
I can hear the sadness in your voice, for sure. I felt the same way about this. However, I was unaware of the shutdown even though I had redownloaded the game for the first time on May 23rd of 2023 since February of 2017. I missed the end, and while I am saddened by such, I feel like the good memories I have about the game will be better, after all, than being present for the shutdown. This is grief I did not think existed.
It felt the same, the best way I could described it was bummed. I was sad it was gonna be gone, but I also wasn’t like I still played the game. Making these videos and getting my feelings out did help me a lot, now I’m just disappointed that I didn’t give that how to train your dragon game a shot lol. Though maybe that’s for the best, starting a brand new game with a ticking clock that was only a few days long.
I’m glad we’ve been able to find comfort in these. I’m planning on making more videos like this. At least one or two. And it may be possible to do it through jumpstart! I’ve heard murmurs of something called “jumpstart restarted”. The creator can’t keep servers running due to their mental and financial state. But plan to keep the source code up so people can run it on their own computers. That and it’s an earlier version of the game! so it will definitely be surreal to explore
Thanks for recording this video, dude. I teared up watching it, tbh. I agree, while no one really played it any more, it was still a huge part of our childhood, it happened and we loved it. And not many games get enough love from its players before they get shutdown, and that means that they just get lost to time. They become lost media, never to see the light of day again. But thanks to you, even indirectly, you have preserved a piece of history and people will one day look back on this video that you likely made on a whim to see what World of Jumpstart was like to play.
I’m glad I was able to document some things for others. However, I’m glad to say that despite the official game being gone, this isn’t game isn’t lost just yet. Plenty of people get abandoned media and lost media confused. There are a handful of archives, offline versions, and even whole fan servers of this game out there. You may need to do a little more digging than stuff like club penguin rewritten or toontown corporate clash. If you just search up world of jumpstart you should be able to find a Reddit post with a link to the jumpstart fan discord in the replies.
I absolutely loved the haunted mummy maze they’d put in the center of Main Street in September/October. I even have the wizard comic based off the windy hollows wizard/witch area. Even animal jam is still kicking. So sad to see go.
That maze scared the crap out of me as a kid. I think it was the mummies themselves, because they always sounded like they were right in your ear. Also the spider, screw the spider.
I love jumpstart and math blaster that was my shiiii back in 2012 😂 I didn’t even know these got taken down I last played around 2021 , if I had known about this I would’ve been on that! I thought about it while I was at work and was excited to hop on just to find out it’s gone smh great video
i randomly decided to check on this game at random as i was playing wizards 101 and woozworld and thought about this game randomly. i was like i wonder if it is still alive but it is gone awwhhhhhhhh i hate that but i get it. this was my childhood brooo when i was lonely and had no friends i felt like i had someone back then i had jump start )::

I’d say you could go looking for some reboot project or archive, I’m certain they exist somewhere out there
