  • G day and welcome back to another truck build episode!!
    This week we install 2 x 17500 LB monster winches to the front and rear of our overloading Isuzu NPS 4x4 truck and continue to get her ready for full time travel. it has surprised us how easy it is to get around and work on the truck - there has been plenty of space to run cables and mount things. if these build eps. interest you don't forget to like and subscribe so you don't miss out on upcoming episodes.
    thanks for everyones support and we will see you on the next one!!

      @@elnick.adventures 11:00 If you had a regular setup I'd ask about having the need for the red keys to turn on the Winches. But you've got some mega ground clearance even if you got stuck in a water crossing you'd be able to get to it.😊😮😮💪⚙

    I’ve run Runva on my last 2 vehicles now and they’ve never let me down
    Good choice 👍,
    Good on ya Elenya, patch him up and send him back out to finish the job 😂😂
    Front and rear winches I’m very jealous 😉

      Thanks mark !! We thought we best put the rear one in as I don’t think it will be easy to de bog this thing 😂🤠

    Well done, loving the progress. I always thought it made more sense to have a winch at the rear.

    I totally agree with "FOXMUNTA", remove the isolating switches they can't handle the amps. They will burn out just when you need them. I replaced 3 of them because I thought the first ones were faulty. Just leave the winches dis-engaged in case your kids or anyone starts playing with the remote control. There is enough drag on the drum for the dynema not to unwind. I removed the hooks also as they may look cool, but are not required if you use soft shackles and even if you don't you can fit a "D" shackle directly through the eye on end of the rope. Nice truck. pk.

    • @elnick.adventures
      @elnick.adventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thanks for the info!! The isolating switch was that on a 24v winch or a 12v? 🤠

    • @wankertoo
      @wankertoo ปีที่แล้ว

      Front and rear winches on my FG649 Canter which has a 12 volt system. After I had problems I spoke to ARB regarding a more heavy duty switch and they don't recommend and never fit isolation switches for winches, and I never had previously either. I only fitted them because they came with the winch kit which is very comprehensive as you know. If they fail in the field when you are using the winch you could easily bypass the switch by bolting the cable that goes to the winch to the positive side of the switch, but I'd rather use my energy getting un bogged. Remember all other things being equal extracting a 7 tonne truck will require much more effort than a regular 4wd no matter how powerful your winch is, but of course it's your call. pk.

      The above reply is from Zambatz1 (just a different log in) Cheers pk.

      I no longer have the original isolating switches but the replacements which also failed (IS-201) are rated at 200 Amp-12 VDC or 100 Amp-24VDC (surge current). A winch motor which is essentially a starter motor would surely draw way more than that especially under load, like I said, your call. pk.

    Good onya Nick. Typical Chippie, can turn your hand to anything, electrical, welding, Steel fabrication, nothing's too hard for a wood butcher!
    What are the seats in the Isuzu like? I remember them to be OK until you get to the end of the driveway. Are you looking to replace them or are they OK? Looking forward to watching your travels in the new rig.
