This railroad is one of my customers. They were wondering why less rail fans are coming by and I hinted at that I was a train buff and mentioned the more modern power being a problem. I got the “ohhhhhh” ah ha response from them.
That's puzzling, because clearly they were having fun with their image in early days, painting their locos in a great scheme, plus the caboose. There were (supposedly) plans for the business car as well. Then suddenly they seemed to turn into a bottom-line bunch, where locomotives are just tools instead of rolling billboards for your business.
I used to live in a house about 100 yds from the "yard" in Grafton where they tie up at night. 1996. We used to take our dog for walks along the tracks. No trains then.
Nice video! They really should consider putting up some signals especially at those crossings that have major blind spots! I wonder how many times a day that poor dude goes up and down those steps of the train....👍👍
Great to see trains on that line again! I thought for sure it was destined to become just another rail trail. Thanks for posting!
Glad you enjoyed it.

Tell 'em that if they send that F-unit back out on a regular basis, they'll have to shoo the fans away with a stick! :))

There are more now than in 2012 when I shot this.
@@mikechapmanmedia2291 great!
He needs the exercise
Best scenery that I have ever seen on a train video.
Those Geeps have been scrapped. They have gone to MP15 as their main power.
Yeah, and the current roster of paint-patched MP-15s just don't have the same style.
Why do they flag the crossings?
To keep people from crashing into the train, as the fellow in the pickup nearly did. Some of the crossings have lights and/or gates now.
Is the G&U required to flag all crossings?
They should have kept all of there vintage units instead of getting those ugly ass yard switchers!
I wish they had as well. The current "patch out" fleet is uninspiring!
i want to mump a train, lol
Beautiful. Just beautiful :)
