I also am a 24 yr (1st grade) teacher and I make my students check out a book every week. We alternate who gets to share the book they checked out and I read to them daily. I also read chapter books to them. I teach them the 3 ways to read a book, since many of them are just developing their reading skills. They have read-to-self for 15-20min/day with the books in their book box. I hope to instill a love for reading in my kiddos!! I personally enjoy reading!

Lester the kids TH-cam videos are great. My kids are 3,6,9,12 and 17 and they fell in love with both of the videos you posted. They love watching your regular videos but I don't like them reading the comments on the big videos. Nothing against you. Cause the love you and Jake. But I don't like them seeing people being mean for no reason. But thank you for the kids videos im looking forward to all the videos you make for them. They get a chance to see real life farm. But not so kiddish
On the kids reading topic. My daughter was born in the mid 90's. When she hit Jr high or so they had a lot of pressure for cell phones and social media. Her father and I were on the same page to not give in on all that. Luckily we we were able to find her the type of books she liked and she grew to love reading. Just had to let her figure what her interest in reading was at that time.
