Today we are talking the basics of how wool works. I thought this would be a great introductory topic to the wool series I am doing this year.
    Humbird: humbirdwool.com
Did you know wool can absorb up to 30% of its weight? It’s a huge reason why wool is always recommended for heavy wetters by other parents and caretakers in the community.
The next video in my series will be how to wash and lanolize wool. It’s a super simple process and I’m excited to demystify this process with you guys.
I am a partner with Humbird!
Wool covers were gifted and the videos in this series are sponsored. All videos are my ideas, thoughts, and knowledge that I’ve learned along the way. I am happy to support Humbird and the team 💜💜

So happy to hear you explain this! Many modern cloth diapers are plastic (even polyester is plastic), but hardly anyone ever touches upon this. I remember your first video about trying wool you seemed so hesitant. It's really not as hard as we think it might be once we get the hang of it! 💜 Heidi

Thank you for this video! I feel like I didn't understand wool covers for a long time into my cloth diapering journey so it's great to have a good resource

I rewatched your previous wool video and I'm so glad you are doing a series on them. Hoping to incorporate some handmade wool covers into my newborn stash 💘

I planned to do a series last year but life hit me hard in 2020 😅 picking up the pieces and rebuilding! I’m excited to pick back up where I left off.
I’ve never used wool on a newborn. I’m interested to know how that goes for you 💖

I love woolpants as diapercovers 💚
"Wool is a lazy parent choice"
So sad, that I discovered them so late and couldn't use with the first two kids. BUT about the drying, it really depends on the cover - I love WeeKing diapers merinopants, they are super slim, but work really well (I have even tested them for night) and dry about 6hours after lanolizing 🤯

I totally use my leftover Lansinoh for my wool soakers! And chapped lips, and wind chapped baby cheeks, and cuticles, and cracked skin... it’s so good!!

What does Humbird call that purple fabric color? The purple diaper cover you hold up in this video is gorgeous!

I wish wool DIDN'T give me a huge rash when I touch it. I love how natural it is!!!!

You know I hear that sometimes. I know of a few people who are allergic to wool. Which is a bummer for them. They break out pretty badly when in contact with it

I know what you mean! My husband is ridiculously allergic to wool, so this wouldn’t be an option for us.

I'm allergic to lanolin but LOVE wool. It's horrible. I can't wear it without a horrible rash. I wish I could!

@@JaysNest I was at goodwill shopping 2 weeks ago and this really cute jacket was made of wool and 5 mins after touching it my whole arm was covered in a rash!!! I was so mad at myself. It was so beautiful and only 5$
I love how wool feels and the smell of clean wool is AMAZING to. But it hates me soooooo stinking bad!!

Is it possible to use the wool cycle on the washing machine to clean wool covers?

    • @JaysNest
      @JaysNest  2 ปีที่แล้ว

You can definitely use wool in the washer. A lot of people use interlock wool on a cold, gentle setting.
My washer eats things 😢 so I have not done it personally
