Josh your the best at what u do. your like a teacher with a master degree in strength. you won me over when u said a strong back is more important than big biceps. if u can do a video on strengthening your lower back so it can uphold when doing various lifts
I was in the Air Force in Montana in 1972. I watched the Sr National Power meet in Denver sept 1972. Saw Akon Cole Squat 860, Jack Barnes Squat 710 as a 181er. Vince Anello deadlift 730 as a 181, Nathan Newcomer did 710 with Vince. Ernie Thayler in 132 lb class bench like 350-360, American rcd. It really was a great meet watching all of the greats at one meet. Bob Perada from Florida, fun talking to him. Jon’s squat flew up as well as Jack Barnes. Meet was well run and I’m glad to watch these legends.
"Even as an old man"? You mean to say a guy in his 50's( which is how old Jon was in the 90's) is "an old man" to you? Lmfao. Their have been world class boxers competing at 50+ years of age! You must be some snot nose kid.
Josh, this one really captures the strongest under 300 lb man to ever walk the planet. As you know , Jon held the combined super total of highest powerlift and Olympic lift total from 1972 until Mark Henry, at 400 lbs broke it in 1995. Twenty plus years of ultimate domination. Keep these up my friend as your contributions to the physical culture realm are truly historic and groundbreaking for social media.
@@marcoleone8189 i wanna become a powerlifter but i suffer with ibs and gastritis im training hard lifting weights its the nausea i get gurgling stomach bad stomach pains is there anything i can take for my nausea i also have problems with anxiety due to my bad health
If you didn't hear correctly, the distance was 100 yards, not 100 meters. That equates to a 10.9 in 100m dash. With this man's level of strength, that time is within the realm of possibility.
John attempted to make Olympic team 1972 with qualifications at Detroit. Once again he was powerful but lacked technique that takes years, decades or never to learn. His main competition was Ken Patera.

I meet jon cole at a wendys I worked at in the late 1990s. Even as a old man he was huge. he would go to the drive through and get 3 double stacks...
LOL

if i worked somewhere in the 1990's how could i be a kid..
In fact, in 1990 Jon was only 47! Hardly "an old man", as you put it, so you must be a liar!
hey asshole.. he was 56 years old when i met him. i was a beginning power lifter at the time and he said he could train me but his rate was too high..
I worked at a gym in the late 90’s JP’s, J Cole would train people there. I once saw him rep out 315 on the incline bench with no spot!
Hi! Love these videos, could you please make a video about Terry Todd? Thank You!

john kuc should be next !!!
Jon did not throw 231’ in the discus and 71’ in the shot.
9.9 for the hundred it would be like getting chased by King Kong !

Not buying that claim
Rikki C Anyone who believes this dude ran ANYWHERE NEAR THAT needs to have their head examined.

It was also hand timed that would have lowered time.
Great video can you do one on john kuc.
GREAT IDEA!!!!
Sadly this legend is buried in a pauper's grave in Maricopa county Arizona

I was married to Jon until 1983, all is true!
Was he hung like a rank bull?
Was he hung
That routine makes me want to stay in bed and skip the gym Friday morning.

Dr. Patrick Jacobs train with Jon Cole. Great Video here. Thanks
Awesome!
When did john cole stop lifting and start his business only?
Not sure, I can check on the business part.
Amazing weightlifter. Unfortunately, he couldn't translate that success to the WSM contests. He just wasn't impressive in those contests.
