    Great tutorial. I know I tend to skip over all the detail stuff so it's good to have videos out like this

      I have a dress this in the past and many of the videos, but what I would recommend is any type of an airbrush that has a .5 needle. This should take care of and handle any of the paint you use for a Diecast hobby. If you have any other questions please let me know, cheers

    I’ve tried the metal polishing routine before. Every time I did, the paint chipped off. I’ve had some people say to scratch the metal surface so the paint will stick, but I notice you don’t do that. Can you tell me how you keep your paint from chipping off?

    Good video. ive had trouble getting good strength and durability from my paint jobs. The paint finish looks good enough but just a light bump or hard rub and I lose some paint. Do you think its because I have not de greased before painting ? Considering Matchbox and Hotwheels cars take years of rough treatment and still keep their paint. Aussie collector.

      Andy: it could be that there’s not enough Hardner in your paint or you didn’t shake the paint up enough if you’re using a rattle can to paint with. You need to let it sit for at least a day to harden up properly. Once it is thoroughly dry that I recommend using an automotive type clear to coat the paint to make sure that it helps seal it and protect it. I would go to an automotive shop that sells car paint and ask them for a good K 2 clear coat paint

    Great how to. My 13 year old is getting into this as a hobby modding hot wheels he buys at walmart. He has done about 10 cars now. I got him an airbrush setup for Christmas to progress in the hobby. I can't find a how to paint vehicle with airbrush in your how to series or wheel swap detailed how to. Could you add these videos. That would be great for his learning curve. Thanks!

      I will definitely add these to my list of videos to create. If your 13-year-old has any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me and I will answer your questions as best as I can. Sorry for taking so long to get to you but I hope this answers your questions.

    Citristrip looks like it works really well. How do you clean it off after you use it though?

    • @jephedelphuego
      @jephedelphuego 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DiecastGraveyard okay great! Thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure if you could do that with Citristrip. I know most of the other stuff that can strip paint shouldn't go down the drain.

    • @DiecastGraveyard
      @DiecastGraveyard  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The mixture is based mostly off of citrus oil’s which is from either oranges or grapefruits etc. Now even though it is a paint stripper if you leave it on your skin long enough it will strip your skin. You can take it to the sink rinse it off with warm water and then scrub it with a brush with soapy water and then when you’re done with that scrub it down with some type of a degreaser like ZEP and it will be fine. When you’re done wash out the sink really good with hot water and soap and scrub it down with the scrunchy pad just to make sure that everything is gone and everything will be fine.

    What do I use to get the polish on,i didn't get the same since its unavailable n my country but hopefully I got something close, do I have to use a brush?

    • @fennexx5796
      @fennexx5796 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DiecastGraveyard sorry i wasn't in the best place to type properly, for the polish, you used flitz, but that isn't available in my country so I sued something else hopefully the same, but that's not the point, what do I put the polish on to rub on the car? m dad told me to use a cloth and put the polish on it so I did but I wasn't sure so I asked here, this is my first time modifying at all.

    • @DiecastGraveyard
      @DiecastGraveyard  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Please forgive me for not answering you sooner. Just rub it on with your finger it’ll be fine and then wipe it off with a paper towel. Once it’s polished up and rubbed off make sure that you use a degreaser to take the remaining polish off. Again I apologize for not getting back to you sooner but if you have any other further questions please let me know and I’ll be happy to answer, cheers

    How do you take out the little nicks in the metal

    • @DiecastGraveyard
      @DiecastGraveyard  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You either have to sand them down till they disappear, primer coat over the car to help fill them in, or you can zinc plated to help fill it in.

    Best way is to pour it in an empty medicine bottle and let the car soak in it.
