We have been riding there since they opened 15+ years ago. I thought my kids to ride there. That being said we find new single track every time we go out. They have the best staff and everything looks the best it has in many years! Go ride!
It really was like nothing else we ever had ridden at coming from the New Jersey area so we definitely will be back there again even though they did raise their prices and I know there’s a lot of changes that happened since we were last there. Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed!
@@gamebredduramax71 Last I checked it was $75 for sxs, but unsure what it is now. Its a bit steep, but I love their tracks and trail management and labeling.
I know, I felt they did a great job with signage, remote radios, emergency options were good. Personnel there and out on the track and trails. A shame.
question what is your option for a sport quad riding spot that wont force one to drive through mud holes and climb rocks that would give a jeep a run for the money?Need a new riding spot.
Same here. I've had some close calls on two way trails. Drove up from Vero beach and it was well worth the drive. w Machine broke down , beyond operator trail repair. They towed me and fixed it same day.
Highland Park KTM World is probably better. Iron Mountain is just as hard packed as Durhamtown, if not more. Plus they don't maintain their trails at Iron Mountain at all, as well as their lone MX track. I do love Iron Mountain, but it's not well maintained. Highland Parks trails are in way better shape, and it is not hard packed like Durhamtown and Iron Mountain. Istarted if at Iron Mountain, and was biased, but once I went to Durhamtown and then Highland Park, my bias went away.
From what I can tell its new owner, new name, or same owner, new name. Unsure, but the link is Georgiaoffroadadventures.com/ Should be the same amenities, but give them a call to be sure.
@@TheBeatenTrail thats only part of the reason. There was another way more preventable incident late last year, 2021. They were doing maintenance on a trail/track, and it wasn't busy. They didn't put up any trail closed signs, nor any warning signs. The were trimming back some tree limbs. A man and his son were riding their SXS and went down the trail, not knowing it was closed. The trimmed one limb from a tree, and it just so happened to hit the SXS as it was driving by. The limb impaled the father, and he bled to death in front of his son. That is the other deciding factor in them closing. They have since reopened under different management and name.
I really think it is. We have to get back there, the only negative i can say is the price has gone up and can be a bit high for single day sxs riders, but I have to get back down there later this year to do a follow-up episode. You owe it to yourself to check it out at least once. We loved it.
We’ve all heard the news but I haven’t seen anything substantial so unsure if it’s really true or a rumor or wishful thinking or if they’re still working on the website and maybe it is true.
If You’re talking about the map tracking that is showed at 2 minutes and 50 seconds that’s actually Google Earth. We take our GPS files and utilize them in various programs to give us a fly over video.
I know, it was my favorite place so far, it is far away, but cabins, store, shop, food, tracks and trails all in one place! Sign me up! Hoping they reopen under new mgmt or some other realm of possibility.
It’s still owned by the same family they closed down and re opened under a new family members name so they can avoid paying money to the guy they killed due to there neglect
@@Eastsidegeorgiaboy there’s not much hill climbs lol one section on the back left of the map. The “hill climbs” trail was a quick switch back of off cambers with no real challenge involved.
@@Eastsidegeorgiaboy yes, i have been there many time. and it you read my comment, i said "all track style and not real off-roading"... what i meant by that is, everything is smooth, flat, fast track style "trails" (more like dirt roads). there is NO challenges or anything that is considered off-roading. but everything is just dirt trails on relatively flat ground (more like dirt roads). but yes, you are correct, there are 6,000 acers of trails and single tracks, but this place is in central GA (piedmont), so nothing that i would call "hill climbs" or anything even remotely challenging. if you like dirt tracks, its a great place, but it is very different from what i would call off-roading. try visiting a place like windrock tn. which is 73,000 acres of serious off-roading in the mountains of east tn. windrock doesn't have such smooth roads and single tracks like this place. But i wasn't trying to be hateful, just trying to inform others that haven't been here and scouting out places to ride
Overrated park for SxS’s. Other than the GP track the trails are like riding on hard packed roads. Also, when they get a decent rain they close down half of the trails in “in order to prevent having to perform trail maintenance.” We had that happen to us on two separate occasions. Day passes are way too high. Indian Mountain, Iron Mountain and Top Trails offer a lot more diversity in trails as well as being reasonably priced. Also, negative for this park is absolutely no night riding.
I hear that a lot, with the price increase its almost not worth the drive. Team wants to visit there again, but winter pricing? Please. Hope to make it to Iron Mt, but have not heard of top trails, but will research.
Top Trails is near Talladega. About a 2700 acre County owned park. It is on an old WWII ammo storage location with around 130 old ammo bunkers. Good mud when wet and also has some decent mountain trails. Really nice campground and also has primitive camping. Imo, Indiana Mountain in Piedmont, Alabama is the best park south of Tennessee.
I didnt think it was too bad. Take a look at SXSBLOG's latest wrecked ride video, you cant even see the ride in front of you since there was so much dust. Compare that to our video where it was clear (and moist). I guess it depends when you go.
I agree with you on the dust side. If they had more to offer other than clay/mud. The group that I ride with are more into rock climbing so we’re not hauling butt. We pretty much ride Windrock, Tackett, Stoney. I live in SC and for the first time went to CAW Carolina Adventure World yesterday and amazed on all the different terrain that had. Small park like Durhamtown but had way more different obstacles.
