This song was introduced to me in 1973 by my oldest brother. I danced and performed it in 1974 at the Baltimore City Fair. I love seeing these dancers and Gypsies dancing. Sometimes I feel like my life has been like a gypsy because I have done my share of moving about. I love the adventure, of course I love to be settled at times too. Great video! Freedom isn't free but so worth it!
Yes I just read the last review.. and I to have traveled "the road less traveled"..also😅 met (me) one the dancer strikingly beautiful .. I let her know😮 too.. great vibe war"😊 far out"
I'm from Baltimore too although I was in high school in Brooklyn, N.Y. when this song/album wasreleased. The whole album is great. I especially love "Gypsy Man," "Deliver the Word" and "Me and Baby Brother."
In those countries you can be so happy with very little, but You can be so unhappy with so much if You dob't have a conscience. But I guess this happen everywhere when You are rich.
my mom's last name is Wanderer , German ,my dad's last name is Bedoi, Wanderers of the desert 😂😢😮to keep their culture correct they avoid mixing with city folk . Only to trade for goods 😂😢
I LOVE THIS GREAT SONG BOY , IM 57 YEARS OLD I REMEMBER MY POPS WASHING HIS TRUCK ON THE WEEKEND THE 8TRACK PLAYER WAS BUMPING WAR , THE SMELL OF INCENSE AN MEXICAN RED HAIR FILLED THE AIR GREAT MEMORIES! POP LEFT THIS EARTH IN OCTOBER EVERY TIME I HEAR LEE OSCAR MAKING HIS HARMONICA CRY GIVES ME CHILLS!
I got to see War play back in November 2022. Great show. When they played this song, halfway through I noticed I was crying. I've loved this band since 1973 when I was "forced" to go to their concert. SOOOOO glad I had to go! (forced by parents who were somewhat cool at the time! :) )
11 minutes of pure musical groove and funk. You know it when your body is rocking, feet are tapping in time to the music and ya wanna get up and move like the dancers in the video. Lee Oskar is a gift to us all.
Been loving this song for 30 years, I love these guys music. Lee Oskar is a beast!!! It's January 7, 2022, it sounds as good now as then...timeless music transcend generations!!! Enjoyed the video!!! Had the pleasure of seeing them perform it back in the '80's in Ft Worth Tx!!! Yeahhhh!!!!
One of the greatest songs I've ever seen in concert. Harmonica turned up on 11. It reverberates your soul. Lee Oskar written by the man who also makes premium harmonicas.
This is the most incredible music video I have ever seen. The music, the people, the costumes, the culture, the rugged beauty of the landscape. Why do there have to be wars? Why can't we love each other and appreaciate each other for who we are? That's how it should be.
One of my best roller-skating songs ever! Lee Oskar was definitely on a mission with that harmonica solo. Just simply awesome and tantilizing. He is making it talk. Shish!!!!!
I remember this when young....always have loved soul music gypsies traveled through our small town. Mom said stay away...I didn't listen ...smiling 😂😂😂😂😂
Washington DC, 1970 I performed to this classic. Modern dancing. Amazing to see that the woman in this video with some of my same moves... l even wore a long colorful skirt... This song took my back
Súper music, super fun, I do remember that when we were dancing with my friends, beautiful remembers , today is October 10 2021 and still listening, God bless everyone of you guys who are listening today, I m 70 yrs old now, but I feel like 25 when I listen this music, bless from my beautiful country El Salvador, my president nayib BUKELE say hello to all of you guys, bye 🙋🏻♂️🇸🇻👈🏻
This is the first time I have heard the extended version of this song! It rocks! I am trying to figure out what country is featured in the video. My guess is India. They definitely have some beautiful women.
I remember this song when dad worked at WABD across from the main gate at Ft. Campbell during the Vietnam War. There was a head shop next door called the Square World.
The timing in this video was amazing....every move was on time to the beat. This I noticed off top because I was a dancer at one time..and being in a band...timing is everything
Super kudos to the producers, director, camera operators, editors, etc who put this together. I would love to see a documentary on how they made this. Why are there no credits?
AMAZING! Beautiful, entertaining and educational video that perfectly matches a classic musical exploration. Thanks for sharing this and Long Live WAR!!!
Came here to verify 😠 I listened to DTW with the full album version of this on Spotify from time to time. Now that I want to add it to a playlist, the album replaced it with the 5 minute single version. Don't understand why...
This is an incredible song by an incredible group. And, an incredible video. However, a big F***You to TH-cam for sticking an ad in the middle of it, completely destroying the joyous moment I was experiencing.
I love this song since it was released in 1973, I was 13. BUT PLS PLS PLS TELL ME WHO MADE THE BREATHTAKING VIDEOCLIP ? All really about Punjabi Roma or is there some Rajasthan in there too ? ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
But you have to remember that War was first! Before those you mentioned but also before Earth, Wind and Fire, Tower of Power, The Average White Band,The Isley Brothers (funk), Maze, Chicago and so on. Not taking anything away from those incredible bands, just acknowledging that War was before all of them.
My experience of Asia consisted of 120 degree days, ied s, snipers, and the joy of burning oil and open sewage. Not to forget the delightful animal friends that were not just venomous, they could kill you within minutes. I am not complaining. I would not trade that experience for anything. I never got to see the fabulous things portrayed in this video. What a fantastic pairing of this music and the video.
For some odd reason, I associate this music to an island in the carribbean about to be hit by a hurricane. A tropical island scene would also suffice with winds increasing speeds when hurricane comes closer to the island.
This song almost did me in!!! I'm 77 and danced all through my house for the entire song. It's the most wonderful thing.❤😅❤😅
😮 don't stop the body rock ❤️🧡💛🤎🖤🩶✌🏾
INDEED.
Still listening to in Dec, 2024...🙋🏽😎💜

Because the devil is all about division. We Can start by respecting each other and appreciate all our differences
Cause it is a relief to boredom
Why Can’t We Be Friends? 🤔

Thanks for the compliment; and yes, you are right, for a video to be effective, both the visuals and the music have to be in-sync.
They are in talented in every way.
