Dude, I never realized it until watching this video. I’m totally doing the same thing I did all summer and barely catching a fish. I’ll drop down in line size and slooooooooow it down. Thanks for the tips and keep up the amazing work. You two do more than fish for our community so thanks for all you Do!

Great advice, I also found that slowing down my retrieves on cranks, chatters, and spinning lures will result in many more bites in the cold months.

Wow just seeing this out of the box th-cam.com/users/postUgkxQr1yd4Zc6qJF-scTB6Zb9dQbVpviuRxB recommend I have yet to fish with this set up, but based on the first hands on appeal, I can tell this is going to change the way i pack and carry to a whole new level. If you fish like i do, you know the smaller and less stuff the better. I’ve added a photo of just some of my gear so you can see how serious i am about fishing.

Nail on the head about slow dragging with tubes, Its been one of my favorite was for winter bites, was out on the 1st fishing a Washington lake, water temp 44, fishing 45-55 ft. deep at .3-.5 mph 3/8 teardrop leadhead, was out for 8 hrs had 11 bites, 4 hook--ups and 3 in the boat, biggest was 2 1/2 lbs. looking to try the ned rig tomorrow in the same areas. You guys are awesome!! Keep it up!!

So right!!:) I’ve taken what you said and applied it to the lighter swim jig with a keitech. Trimming the skirt strategically depending on the design to slim down the design gives it a less erratic action coming through cover. I’m stuck on the bank which is why I use the jigs with a weed guard. BUT!! Like you said I’m dragging through cover and when I’ve gotten stuck I lower the rod tip and lightly pull through.. Sometimes bam there’s that bite. Have caught more fish this winter because of you guys, appreciate all the tips!!:)

A tip to many: I use ALL Keitech's, for single units, for belly weighted swimbait hooks, swimbait jigheads (exposed), swimjigs, etc. I use KEITECH exclusively for 3.3" and above, but the 2.8" Keitech FATs are as durable as a Senko after being hit by a lawnmower. The Strike King version doesn't have the action but will at least survive bream breathing on them. The MC Swimbaits MC Shad in 2.5" is tougher too, but for all Keitech's offer, I would just suggest the 3.3", unless you don't mind spending the extra baits because the 2.8's get bit like no other, they just are not durable.

Awesome content as always. Something else we drag on Erie is a dropshot. It's most effective when your drift is 1.5km/h or less. Dragging the dropshot is something I've taken as far south as Kentucky Lake and have produced with it while other guys who are just shaking their dropshots are getting squat.

A tube rocks for winter but a Jigging spoon for me is money ..I fish for spots in Alabama . Pitch a little 3 inch 3/8 or 1/2 ounce spoon up against a rock bluff and pop it up a foot of bottom and let it flutter down from rock shelf to rock shelf and you WILL eventually get bit ......Spots can’t stand it and you will catch other species too like big drum .

my minimum line lb test for finesse fishing in winter here on santee is 10 lb our lake is muddy 95% percent of be time...but around early december it didnt rain for a month or two prior and the lake actually got really cleae for a lil while and we were catching alot more fish with clearer water on santee cooper!!! but if i fish church branch lake its crystal clear like clear lake then i go to 8... youre so right about line size though the lighter line also gives your bait a more natural presentation as well. just my two cents hahaha !!!! keep em coming guys were grinding it out everday!!!! just waiting to get a line wet a s a p !!!

I have been struggling this year. Hadn't caught a fish since late Oct. , until this past Friday. I was dragging a Z-man TRD on a Carolina rig with a Owner size 1 offset. He hit it hard, was so sweet to finally land my first bass of 2018. I had never thought about dragging those small Keitech's think I'll try that next.

I've got videos crushing 5lb bass on a dead stick after 2 to 3 minutes. Its an awesome technique we've been doing for years. True dead stick is like bait fishing. Let it sit for 30 seconds or more. Then drag it. Or pop it and let it sit another 30 seconds.

I'm watching this in the fall because my little lake seems to go through seasonal patterns much earlier than larger lake's. I'm can switch lakes an hit fish on current seasonal patterns but with cold front's coming through I absolutely must adapt to the next season tactics to keep catching. My little lake also spawns much much earlier than other's as well. I almost missed spawn in March out there this last "spring" this year I'll be focusing on spawn tactics in February!!!

I've been using powerbait max scent products. The little shad profile ones on a drop shot have been the only thing that works. Even caught a few planted trout with them. In the winter, a fish is a fish to me. going to buy some scent products. I've never been a believer that scent works but this December was so bad. Nothing but high pressure, cold sunny days made the fishing terrible. Switching to a scented product really made a difference for me. Went from consistently getting skunked to having an above average day for any time of the year. Thanks again for your videos. This channel has really improved my fishing. Not that you guys have brought up scent much, but your approach to fishing and really breaking it down in detail what the fish are doing and what your thought process is really helps me problem solve and switch tactics instead of stabbing in the dark.

My son actually taught me this. BUT IN SUMMER!!! He rips the bass one after another docks, wood, deep points. Never throws nothing but a tiny bitsy bug with a trd crayfish best color green pumpkin of course. Big fish, little fish, bass, crappie, and get this big walleye under the docks yep you heard that right, oh did I mention carp yeah freakin carp and big ones!!! Technique, throw it and let it set, and set, and set, and set, and set and then I hear that all too familiar THERES A FISH!! LITTLE F--CKER!!! Now I'm throwing 5 casts to his one wow, I'm throwing onetens, cranks, spinnerbaits and I'm doing OK but he smashes um!!! Matt and Tim are right on this shit works, I'm here to say it works all year and for lots of spieces! Ok today is Christmas eve and we got no wind 50 degrees, nothin really happening so we're fishing, I know he's gonna kick my ass again!!! HAPPY holidays everyone!!!
