@P5Cowdrey Ummm I would have said zero chance before Drink said he's undecided about returning. Now, it's 99.5% no. lol Here's the deciding factor. #1 overall gets 38mil over 4yrs + 24 mil signing bonus. Last pick 1st rd 12.75 over 4yrs plus 2 mil signing bonus. So LB would get around 6 mil 1st yr & 3 mil each year after. Total 15mil. Let's say MIZ offered him something crazy, like 8mil. That's about the same as his 1st two NFL seasons combined. The NFL will be high pressure, starting from scratch, etc. He can come back, be a star, get even better, & if he pushes his stock up 10 spots, he gets an extra 10mil+ in next year's draft. He's projected by CBS at 21, he could go higher, but if he drops to the 2nd rd, which I think is unlikely, it's a lot less. $8mil or whatever it would take is a lot of money for a WR. It's not a guy that touches the ball every play like a QB. I have no idea how much MIZ's NIL budget is, but do you blow $6-$8 mil on a WR or pony up $4 mil for the top portal QB. We have Manning, Marquis, & Mekhi all returning. Crutchfield & Madison were very high 4 star recruits. Blood coming back high 3 star. Terry & Olugbode 4 stars in 2025. None of them are Burden by a long shot, but there's plenty of talent in the room. We need a QB bad. By the way Zollers is going to be awesome.
Yea they missed on the name. I called it battle of the Ozarks. 2025 will be great o and d line should be real good. Plenty of receivers and backs. Overall just add depth everywhere see what you can improve in portal but solid already. Feel confident Zollers, Pyne, or Horn can equal any production we had this year. If you're going to spend look for cb1 then d line. That Georgia transfer will hopefully be healthy plus great young de talent Nwaneri and Brown.
MEM just beat UCON on the road. MEM was RPI #1 going into that game. That opening 8 pt loss on the road looks a lot different now. This is a S16 team. Love the size, length, speed, & scoring. What a fun brand of bball to watch.
Miz wins 47 to 0 against Ak. Citrus Bowl against Illinois. That would be the best ending for Miz this season since we have no shot at CFP beating Illinois.💯 Happy Thanksgiving everyone 🥧🏈
@@jmfbizzle I am not going that far just yet. We will know more after the Cal and Kansas game. Beating the little sisters of the poor doesn’t prove anything.
@tylercollins3130 these games are good for figuring out lineups, cohesion, getting in game experience. A lot of new & young guys. I would point out that we lost to MEM on the road by 8, who just won @UCONN. We were up by 10 at half, & down by 5 with 4 mins left. At the end we were missing layups, open 3's, etc. We should have won that game. Stuff like that happens in games but is negated by veteran leadership, & playing together as a team for awhile. They're gaining that valuable experience now. I think we beat KU & ILL this year. They're still early games, but I think we'll have it put together by then. It'll be he 1st time in my memory that we'll be playing those games without a serious talent deficit.
A bit stressed for 2025's season. Manning, Mekhi & M Johnson will have to step up as WR leaders. Our 7+ man TE room looks solid! Most will be Soph/Juniors w/ some experience. Punting team will be interesting w/ Luke graduating. QB & RB rooms will be a total toss up... Pyne will take C role w/ Matt Zollers & Tommy Lock battling it out for 2nd? Then that leaves us with Sam Horn stuck on sideline duties w/ Brett Brown as 3rd string? Kewan Lacy & Jamal Roberts will have to step up as 1st & 2nd for RB
@chrislehman4125 Noel is really a stud. We actually hit on a really high % of trans guys. Flagg, Jacob's, Kelly Jr, Bryant, Webb, Green, Noel, Pyne, ZYoung, Pride, Carroll, McClellan & Flagg2. The only guys that didn't hit were Beasley, Hultman, & Darris Smith. Beasley we got b/c he's young only a true FR that trans right after spring camp, so hes basically a HS Rec. Hultman was just a depth piece. Smith got injured in fall camp, out for season. Was a starter. Still young. So we basically batted 100% except for injury on the guys projected to play right away. That's insane. Rec evals are on point with this staff. Almost every other team would be tickled to hit on 60-70% let alone all of them. Future is bright with this staff.
@Rick-z4h Glad we're in agreement, lol. I get attacked quite often for my takes. Sucks that we aren't going to make the playoffs b/c of 1 flubbed minute of fb at the end of the SCAR game. BBALL team is on point. MIZ!
Grill looked really bad. On TV it looked like he wasn't moving his legs. I hope he's alright. Last yr injured game 9 out for the season, this year game 8... It's a little scary when the doctors are poking his legs to see if he has feeling in them. I hope it's just minor & he bounces right back, but he didn't look good & wasn't moving anything but his one arm.
That was not a salary cap because the players didn't (or shouldn't have) earn a salary. Now that we pay them above the table, a cap might be worth considering.
The Michigans of the world will always find a way to get the money to pay players they have been doing it for forever. I don't know how you can equate not paying players to a salary cap. Sure John technically there was a salary cap and it was zero dollars. You know what we meant. A hard cap of a few million each year to level this playing field. If they are found to have gone over the university is banned from athletics for a year or two. The NCAA has finally come to their senses and allowed people to be paid for their work so they can no longer be considered amateurs. They are in a feeder league for the NFL NBA MLB etc and every American league has some form of pay ceiling. If you want to get paid you can play by the rules we in America have deemed fair. If this arms race keeps taking place without a hard cap we will end up with Dodgers Yankees Man Citys and Real Madrids. Or in other words the same exact issues we had before NIL but the players are rich.
"You know what we mean." Honestly, how would a hard cap be different than a salary cap system? If you want more parity, the new system is giving you that more than the old one.
Again, re: Man City and the Yankees...the Yankees haven't won a World Series in 15 years. You're also describing the old system, when Alabama won every other year.
I think Missouri has been another big let down for the fans this year, expectations were so high but as always we are a laughing stock around the conference from a so called weak schedule.
Happy Thanksgiving! MIZ
ZOU!

Great Pod. Love Eli. Love Burden. Glad they listened to you. If he comes back, we'd have our pick of QBs in the portal.

It’s Thanksgiving…let’s have HOG!
Bball team is deep. They should be able to wear down some teams with fresh legs. That Marshall kid is a beast of a freshman.
S16 team. MEM just beat UCON on the road. Teams getting better each game. TO Barrett is going to be good down the road.

What about Wiese? Seems like he might be a big deal too.
Wease is a senior and will walk.
Gonna miss Burden, Cook, Noel, Carroll, Cooper, Wease. Time to scrape together a couple million in NIL for Ewers. Happy Thanksgiving everyone
Ewers is going pro. Lol. He's a great passer but I'd prefer a mobile QB like Mateen or Maivia from USC.

Arkansas won’t show up
Snow game benefits Arkansas. Arkansas sucks at pass defense & is good at run defense. Arkansas also is a good run team. Hogs 17-10
