Indeed there is terrorist attack happen around the world made by IS and Taliban, but believe me, there are more peace-loving Muslim around the world. I'm. Catholic. My reading of the gospels tells me that Jesus knew the Samaritans for a long time. He knew and understood them but never condemned them. He used the parable of the Good Samaritan - Christendom will forever remember Samaritans in the figure of the Good Samaritan. Poignant is the story of the Samaritan woman at the well. She had a kind heart that longed for understanding and mercy. Did Jesus give these to her? He sure did. The Samarirans here in the video almost glow in their piety and deep spirituality. I have studied and lived in nablus for several years and to be honest the local palestinians treat samaritan exactly as a part of their local community and I haven't noticed any kind of discriminations and they have a good representation in the palestinien parliament. I wish for them and for all the prosperity and happiness.

As someone who’s directly related to this group of people; family left that area during the Ottoman Empire five generations back even to this day retain the physical characteristics Arab/ Middle Eastern look for myself and certain close relatives after all the intermarriage that happened within my family ( fathers mother) . I’d like to travel there and meet these people but not too sure if I should take a try at getting reintroduced to the main population. In museums, we see great effort to save artifacts of history. They even spend millions to conserve these items. But, to me, the most precious artifacts of the past is language, history and ethnicity. These need to be conserved the most.

Women in traditional Indian households still follow sitting separate during their period. They don't touch others, anything that belongs to others and they don't mix their items which they are using during that time with others. If kids touch, the kids have to take off their clothes, sprinkle some water and change into different clothes and mix with others in the family. However this practice is going away these days as families are getting smaller and noone else to help the women with their chores. It was basically meant to give rest to the women during their period as the body is really weak and some have body and abdomenal pains as well

The Samaritans are decedent of Israelites same as Jews. Both Jews and Samaritans originated from Canaanites around 1200 BCE (there is some debate among archaeologist to the exact time). The Israelites had a separate kingdom north of Jerusalem (Samaria) called the kingdom of Israel and in Jerusalem the kingdom of Judah. Both had roughly the same religion but few differences. Around 740 BCE the Assyrian empire exiled the Israelites but probably left a few around the kingdom. Later the Jews were exiled too and at some point the Babylonian let the Jews to go back to their kingdom and build the second temple. When they came back they found the Samaritans and they didn't believe them that they're the Israelites. So in short both Jews and Samaritans originated from the same people around the same time. Also the Samaritans as Jews used ancient Hebrew before the Assyrian exile but the Jews adopted the Aramaic alphabet when they were in exile. That's why Samaritans still use ancient Hebrew to some extent. As a Jew I think that we need to do anything in our power to preserve their tradition and culture.

As someone who’s directly related to this group of people; family left that area during the Ottoman Empire five generations back even to this day retain the physical characteristics Arab/ Middle Eastern look for myself and certain close relatives after all the intermarriage that happened within my family ( fathers mother) . These people are real Hebrews as they never left and never became mixed, jews are mixed people and are not Hebrews. These are hard facts many can not take lightly.

@@IslenoGutierrez I forgot to write this: in 2 pre-modern periods Jews joined the Samaritans in significant numbers: the Second Temple era (prior to the 2nd century BCE) and early Medieval times. Certainly in the latter period the Jews were already mixed a bit, after absorbing converts from Anatolia and Amazigh Berbers.
Ben-Zonah, the moral of all these facts combined is that you should never dismiss some people until you can be sure you won't be citing hogwash while doing it.

DNA testing shows that the purest people in ancient Levantine type ancestry in what is today Israel and Palestine are the Samaritans and Palestinian Christians. Both are around 90%. Then muslim Palestinians at around 70%. Then all the Jews come next with Mizrahi and Sephardi around 60% and Ashkenazi around 50% (Ashkenazis are just as European as they are Levantine). If we are to include other Levantines, then Lebanese, Syrian and Jordanian Christians are similar to Samaritans and Christian Palestinians in percentage of native Levantine ancestry while muslim versions of each of those are similar to muslim Palestinians. I don’t quote hogwash, I’m much too informed in archaeogenetics to do that. That’s for laymen, which I’m not.

Levitas the Priest tribes Juda and Benjamin now what we know Jews. The Lost 10 tribes was exile after the Israel was been invaded and crush by the Assyrian Empire. Samaritans are also part of 10 lost tribes

I am surprised you make no mention of the Samaritans who live in Israel in the town of Holon. They are well looked after...I have been there. Try filming them next time.

They always said that the Samaritans belongs to the people of Israel, and they are Israelites.
By the way, the Samaritans of Holon are full Israel citizens, and those in Garizim mountains have both Israel and Palestinians citizenship.

Many arab Muslims in Hebron have Samaritan ancesters, because in the past they have been forced to convert to Islam, just like the jews of the Arab world...
However they don't consider themselves as Palestinians, they are SAMARITANS ISRAELITES.

At 11.40 it was mentioned that they wear the same clothing as ancient times, 2000 years ago. There clothing is the traditional dress worn in all the Ottoman Empire from the mid 1800s until maybe 1940s after ottoman empire.
I would love to hear the other reasons about centered mindset. As I have heard, this was a promise as being early people. I know it has been talked over, as even more history came forth.

There were only 150 Samaritans in 1967 according to their own records. There are now 820. They have been facing problems with inherited diseases due to a small gene pool and have been more open to accepting female converts (from Ukraine) in an effort to preserve their population. Their situation now is actually better than it was in the past century. The "four families" are actually tribal references, none have gone extinct in living memory.
Jews and Samaritians are two sides of the same coin. Love to our people ❤ we should do more to ensure they grow.

@@emfegmfeg7100 True about Ethiopian Jews. But both Yemenite Jews and Eastern European Jews do have some Israelite ancestry in common with the Samaritans. There are some genetic overlaps they have with the Syrian Jews and the Samaritans.

Women in traditional Indian households still follow sitting separate during their period. They don't touch others, anything that belongs to others and they don't mix their items which they are using during that time with others. If kids touch, the kids have to take off their clothes, sprinkle some water and change into different clothes and mix with others in the family. However this practice is going away these days as families are getting smaller and noone else to help the women with their chores. It was basically meant to give rest to the women during their period as the body is really weak and some have body and abdomenal pains as well

The Samaritans are decedent of Israelites same as Jews. Both Jews and Samaritans originated from Canaanites around 1200 BCE (there is some debate among archaeologist to the exact time). The Israelites had a separate kingdom north of Jerusalem (Samaria) called the kingdom of Israel and in Jerusalem the kingdom of Judah. Both had roughly the same religion but few differences. Around 740 BCE the Assyrian empire exiled the Israelites but probably left a few around the kingdom. Later the Jews were exiled too and at some point the Babylonian let the Jews to go back to their kingdom and build the second temple. When they came back they found the Samaritans and they didn't believe them that they're the Israelites.
So in short both Jews and Samaritans originated from the same people around the same time. Also the Samaritans as Jews used ancient Hebrew before the Assyrian exile but the Jews adopted the Aramaic alphabet when they were in exile. That's why Samaritans still use ancient Hebrew to some extent.
As a Jew I think that we need to do anything in our power to preserve their tradition and culture.
