Citroen is looking to do something a bit different with the DS brand. It's trying to spin it off as a stand alone entity, separating it from the Citroen badge entirely in the minds of customers. This is easier said than done. Lexus and Infiniti are usually thought of as the luxury arms of Toyota and Nissan respectively and they never had to overcome years of being sold as Toyota Lexuses or Nissan Infinitis first.
The DS5 is the flagship model in this brave new DS world and it's been facelifted and updated to help it branch out anew. Now we loved the original Citroen DS5, despite a nagging realisation that UK buyers in this price category were disappointingly weak when it comes to resisting the pull of a premium German badge. The latest car looks to reassert its credentials in a tough market.

Best DS5 review. I bought 2015 Prestige 2.0 180 hp diesel 10 days ago and love it. It's rare in the UK(which is a plus for me), loaded with tech, distinctive, has good quality materials inside and is efficient enough.

Me and the wife are looking into getting one, think they look amazing and I've never seen one in the flesh in the UK.
@@robw3655 It's great. I've used 3.000 miles since I bought it, no issues, nothing wrong, very comfy and loads of tech especially if it's prestige version. Just don't forget to get one with Apple Carplay, it makes everything easier, built-in navigation is useless tbh. Boot is bigger than some competitors too, if necessary.
Hi, what's real consumpiton of this car in the town and outside?
@@user-zm4lx6yq4c My combined usage is around 44 MPG but I'm not caring much about it tbh. Always using on sport mode, I think you can do 48-50 MPG with just a bit effort. If you use it on motorway too much, will be 55+, once I saw 63 MPG.

I love my DS5 performance line, looks great, drives well. Plus easy to find in the car park, against the sea of ford's, bmw's and Audi's.

Here in France have just bought a 2017 Blue HDi 180 Sport coming from a Jaguar XE R-Sport, much more luxurious inside. Getting older so prefer comfort over speed. Should also be cheaper to maintain.

my daughters have one bought used 4 yrs daily drive also europe wide amazing reliability sw france finland poland spain italy sweden estonia poland germany etc.
In Denmark it didn't sell well. The prices on the used car market dropped as a stone.

I bought one today it is a very very good car. One question about it, I noticed on the A pillar there are two little microphone like thingy on both driver and passenger side, any idea what those are for?
