had me in tears when Rengoku got to see his mother, the only person in his life that encouraged him and gave him strength, set the standard for his values finally tell her son that she was proud of him right before his final moments, such an emotional roller coaster this scene was, and it gets even better, this show is truly just epic in every single sense of the word ...

Actually he wasn’t. Akaza was talking down to Rengoku because he was only human. Tanjiro called him out on this in a later fight when he was “praising” Rengoku his tone towards him and Rengoku was an insult

He respects all strong beings. He likes to fight opponents that test his strength. People say Akaza wasn’t trying, which is somewhat true. He had abilities that allowed him to predict the attacks of others, especially if the enemy is compassionate. However, this means that he has options in a fight and can completely control its trajectory if he feels comfortable enough. He can force himself to fight an opponent head on and use most of his power if not all when trading blows, or he can decide not to and just dodge. He can make whatever hits land do less damage simply by managing his strength. Here, he was taking Rengoku’s attacks head on, which means he was using a decent amount of his power, but it was entirely just for the fun of it. It makes his blood pump. He loves it.

One of Akaza's ability that is a trump card is his “fighting spirit” ability. (Those who read the manga would know) That's why due to that ability he possessed, he is very confident in winning the fight and was just playing around.
So basically rengoku was just putting putting fuel on the fire when he was using ninth form

However, it was by choice, and if he ever messed up, it either wouldn’t harm him or he could easily avoid his attacks. There was no true risk in fighting with Rengoku. He wanted to feel the blood pumping through his Veins. The struggle, and intensity.
He lives to fight, and if he truly respects an opponent, he will try his hardest even when he doesn’t have to. He only holds back when he could kill them. He gets to try super hard and engage in an intense fight while not being at risk of dying. You bet he gets mad dopamine when fighting someone like Rengoku. All fair, no tricks, not using his compass needle ability to its fullest to dodge every attack. Just straight combat.
Akaza also adapts very quick. Rengoku only had 9 forms I believe, which means that’s less work for Akaza and more work for Rengoku tactically.

Honestly my favorite character in Demon Slayer is Akaza, especially after learning his backstory, he’s also the only demon among the upper six who’s in anyway honorable really and the only one who became one unwillingly too, yet a large amount of his personality still remains. He never eats women even though he’d get stronger from eating them (source upper 2) and also he has never turned someone into a demon unwillingly, he had many opportunities to turn rengoku into a demon but never did, always asking never demanding and forcing. Also it’s understandable why he is the way he is when he turned into a demon based off his past.
Guys lets appreciate Rengoku for the he gave eventhough akaza was playing with him

@@polzamob6298 that's probably true, because many of us already saw how Fate Heaven's Feel 3 fights go XD. For me, Demon Slayer and Fate both have mind-blowing animation, the difference for me is(my opinion), Fate is more focused on movement, while Demon Slayer more focused on the art of the skills like those colours and animation of attacks, Fate fully polished on fighting movement and Demon Slayer fully polished on that colours and attacks. In the end both are on the top level but for me Fate got the edge

Trust me, animation, plot, the concept of the storyline, characters power and characteristics/behaviour, background music from Fate is better than DS, but I'm not discriminating DS at all so don't get me wrong~. You can search "the four ring" that's one of Fate's fighting background music, just the bgm will give you goosebumps already XD. Its characters are more interesting as well like Gilgamesh, King Arthur (but in Fate Arthur is a woman), Hercules and more. While some characters you think are boring and bland like Sakura, she'll immediately be your waifu once you get to her storyline. So my recommendation for Fate starters are:
Fate/Zero
Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works
Fate/Heaven's Feel 1,2&3(this one heavily focus on Sakura)
Then rewatch Unlimited Blade Works
You need to rewatch then you'll find how beautiful Fate can blend in multiple hidden plot in a single series, because after rewatch you'll be like "ooh that's why he's here, ooh so that's his reasons, etc". Plus, there's no just "good and bad" person, some of them are neutral where they're not the villain but at the same time tryna kill the MC and sometimes fight the villain as well so yeah Fate is unique in its own way, and if you read the novel or people's explanation, it's a masterpiece tbh.

People can say akaza wasn’t taking This fight serious all they want. But what can’t be denied is rengokus physical feats, mostly his strength. It’s undeniable once it came time to get out of there akaza got serious, and rengoku managed to hold him in place while simultaneously decapitating him, regardless of the injuries sustained.

Fr, Akaza is a monster, but he heavily underestimated Rengoku at the end. My man almost got rid of one of the most problematic demons using sheer physical strength, without even having a mark
Many think that the insult behind Akaza's offer was fully personal, but the main insult imo was related to the class. Rengoku was functionally a samurai, who's code ordered him to seek death on a battlefield, offering a warrior like that an immortality is attempting to rob him of the moment that will define his life, say, robbing him of his life entirely.
Problem is Akaza didn’t actually offer that as an insult, he truly respected Rengoku and that’s why he even made the offer, he would never offer it to someone he thought was unworthy

if someone knows the actual manga, Rengoku was so unlucky in this fight, as akaza of all the demons his blood art power is the only counter to rengokus ability. Rengoku has the most powerful power spirit, in which late in manga it is said that the reason akaza is undefeatable is he senses power spirits of people. dodging and counter attacking is his most powerful ability
Akaza wasn’t even defeated by someone with no fighting spirit…he only held back the regrowth of his head because he wanted to move on.
If Rengoku had a weaker fighting spirit, Akaza who is way faster than him would have just killed him. The only reason he entertained the fight was because of Rengoku’s spirit to begin with.
