Indeed shivers. Even if the intro was off, it hit me perfectly where I'd want it. I rather wonder why the last tones of the repeating melody (clean guitar? still harpsichords?) are so short. The ?panflute? doesn't fade out at 0:34, that feels quite unfamiliar, but not necessarily bad. (It's been a while since I took a dive into virtual instruments) Oh, I just ended CD1 on my music-modded PC Version, so your upload fits me well.
I tried my best in that intro, the harpsichords i have are sample based and don't get as high as that notes in the original song since it's synthesized, so i had to adapt. Thank you! :)
Hi BitSymhony, I noticed that on some of the notes for the harpsichord around 0.21-0.30 are slightly too staccato; as well as other parts of the song that repeated the same section? Also, at 0.34-0.36, isn't there supposed to be an up 'run' (can't remember the musical term, sorry) for the flute?... But apart from that, very well done :) I still feel the same dread and mysteriousness of this piece as in the game :)
"Staccato" isn't the right term, either (because the notes aren't separated, they are simply being played very hard) - though I do agree that the notes need to be softened a bit. Also, the term I believe you're looking for is a "glissando." It means that the flute player plays a quick run of semi-distinct notes. You made me check my music text for that one! :-P Either way, good catch because it IS missing. The hilarious part is that it's only noticeable because BitSymphony did a much better job of keeping the flutes distinct in that section, versus the original. XD
Andrew Horne haha, thanks for that...my music theory was always pretty dodgy :P Yes glissando is what I meant :) I probably noticed because I have the FFVIII ost and I try to play along on my woodwind instruments :)
Fithos, Lusec, Wecos, Vinosec.
I'm Edea's PA and she approves.
Good Job! You kept it original and it sounds very good
Over seven years old and it still holds up well.

BitSymphony + remake tracks from Xenoblade = epic win ;)
Don't why the harpsichord sounds so creepy here, both this and the original
Wow, good job. Definitely one of my favorite songs off the game.

Hey man, what programs do you use to make this music?
i want to hear a sacrifice :D
0:04-0:07 seems off. I think one of the keys isn't high enough.
Other than that, everything was spot on!
