How many Scud Pro Staffs are you on?
I am a Scud Pro Staff critic so my opinions, be they baseless or informed, should be held relevant and sacrosanct . Critics have the advantage of second guessing those who have put the work in and are informed. Perhaps, you could make me a Scud Pro Staff mascot
Stream Urchin you are on the short list.
@@FlyFishFood Gee thanks, Would it help me ta git to da top of list if you knew that I think indicators are bobbers, matching the hatch is for metrosexuals and trout beads should only be used as spacers for articulated streamer big enough to choke a horse?
Super scudding looking!
Great fly.....thanks for sharing!!
likely your greatest contribution to mankind. looks great
Visited your store today in Utah. Fantastic place and friendly staff. Fly fishing heaven !!
Wow a nice tie or what you nailed that one Kudos thanks for the post
Nice tie, Cheech! Thanks!
Great pattern. Seems like people have forgotten about scuds but they are super effective in the tailwaters where they are present. One idea from Arkansas fly tier Fox Statler - after you dub it and rib it, if you will take a pair of smooth jawed pliers and squeeze the sides you will get an even more scud humped profile. Thanks for the great videos!
Good job 👍
Looks Kind of like a scud pattern I saw on a Hal Janssen video in the 90's. He used ostrich hurl for the body, some sandwich bag plastic for the shell, monofilament for the ribbing.
Nice video
Just cleaned some lake trout they had scuds in there stomach not minnow... I'm destined to catch one on the fly ice fishing!
nice. I just noticed the tops of bead and hook zip-loc bags, actually have some ribbing (for her pleasure) molded in, might make a cool "back/thorax" material? Tight lines.
Found 100s of scuds in the stomach of perch amd herring icefishing yesterday, time to clean up the bemch amd spin some of these up.
Sooo...if you just happen to have clear scud material on hand, will that work? This figures. Im super new to tying and as I dont use flies aside from late fall-early spring for steelhead i dont usually have materials most flies call for. And the one time i do the persons using a damn trash bag type thing. The real shit is pretty cheap at least
What size Hook?
When a Scud Pro Staffer starts dropping Scuds.. YOU WATCH !
Scott Stovall you are now cordially invited to the scud pro staff.
That deformation in your plastic bag is called “necking”: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necking_(engineering)
Right, and it results in "stretch orienting" of the polymer chains, which is why it suddenly stiffens and strengthens. The material is probably high clarity polypropylene.
What type of retrieve and line in Stillwater do you use
jbatina usually pretty slow. Or with very small sudden strips.
wheres the recipe mostly interested in the size hook and make of this
scud hook again?
1k views in 12 hours... that's big boy numbers cheech. 👍 I'll be down later today to get my garage bags... if I buy in bulk will u throw in a "that's Lance Egan right there" bumper sticker?
Buy your wife flowers and your get a life time supply. I've used that for dragon fly wings. It buzzes going through the air.
Thought “that’s one small hook! Gotta be like size 20!” Then I remembered that cheech has bear paws as big as the average man’s chest, so it could be a size 6 hook….
About 15 to 150 depending on how heavy you want it🤣🤣
That’s one nice piece of plastic!
Next thing you know, Hareline is changing their plastic bags and selling the actual bags stripped and stretched for a 2175x profit.
how about putting those fingers on a diet ???. not you Per-say . just the fingers . Thanks
