Excellent job. This is one of the nicest designs I've seen that appeals to me anyhow.

You get an "excellent" grade for your perseverance. Glad to see it's complete before major injuries.

Thanks, I love it! It's so nice to be able to saw and not have to worry about having to tarp up the sawmill. Thanks for watching

Awesome shed design to provide the clear span . Very nice work with all the notches, too. I use a 1 inch spade bit to go into some of my beams to get an extra inch penetration of the screws.

Nice job! I love your design and would like to build a longer version for a boat shed, I can fill in the blanks on most things but I would be very much interested in any dimensions/angles you could provide - though I recognize you built on a sloping rock and that may not be so easy. And I really appreciate that you included the fumbles and mistakes in your video - this is such an important part of the process and encouragement for those who are not as far down the road.

Thanks, I do try to show my mistakes. If you want to send me an email i can send the PDF of the design with dimensions.
      Regards,

Interesting video. I love the design of your sawmill shack (as I prepare to design a shack as well.) Are the bottom beams near the ground just for racking control? Seems like the upper cross members would be sufficient but I certainly am no engineer. I appreciate all the real-life mistakes you left in the video instead of just editing things out. Thanks for sharing you build.

Thanks for the nice comments. Are the bottom beams necessary probably not. I initially designed to possibly hold slabs in between the top and bottom beams. I changed my mind while I was building it and kept them in my case I wanted to board off an area for wind or whatever reason. I don't think I will but I like it. Good luck on your build.

Nice building do you have any plans?

Thanks, I designed it with my CAD software so I don't have real plans but I do have a front and side view pictures with dimensions. Would this be enough for you to build it?

So by burning it, does that “seal” the wood?

Well yes and no. It does change the surface tension. I have seen rain bead up on the wood similar to when rain hits a waxed car. Insects don't like burnt wood especially when it's surrounded by a healthy forest.
