I married at 19 yrs old. At the age of 35 I separated from my husband. I will really encourage anyone to work on themselves and be the best you , you can be so that way you don’t look for your partner to fulfill you. And you are truly in a partnership. Go to premarital counseling , I wish I had and I wish like Tamara said do not let the brick wall get high. Resentment kills the love . Love needs nourishment, a plant needs you to feed it otherwise it dies , a relationship deserves the time and commitment as well.

Personally, if they haven't already, I think it could be cool to bring a marriage counselor on set for a discussion, or bring in an array of couples counselors, e.g. marriage counselor, a pastor, a family therapist, and a sex therapist, all together or over the course of a week so the audience can more readily assess them and figure out what kind of counselor or mentor is best for them and their partners and families
The marriage is not the end but the beginning entering a new chapter and as it goes we keep learning and growing on from it while loving each individual.

Don’t keep brushing everything under the rug because at some point the rug is going to become bumpy and lumpy and you will start to trip over it in your relationship. Face your battles head on but at the same time be wise to know which ones to pick.
Love love love the Mowry girls. I too have a Psych. Background and couldn’t agree with her and their counselor more. Two of the ones that have helped our marriage most are 2. Don’t go to bed mad. You can agree to finish your argument later, say you hit your word limit for the day, etc but don’t end the day in anger. The second is just what she said, hit things head on as they come up. If you build or leave an obstacle on your path you will spend all your time going around it, ignoring it, or finding ways to avoid it all while that thing adds stress and unnecessary blockage to your walk together. It doesn’t have to be pretty, but moving that wall/ breaking it down is by far the best way to deal with the tough stuff.
I don’t necessarily agree with that especially if the issue erupts into an argument. If not then yes but if it changes into something where yelling or physical abuse comes to play walk away!!! Calm down write your feelings down and address it when you and the other party is calm and can think straight. Walk away as many times as need to.

Amen to that! I know for my church, if you are planning to get married by our bishop it is mandatory that you and your fiancé go through counseling before he does your wedding. I agree I think it's important because sometimes you need to have that other party on the outside help you through some things before you say "I Do", you might think you have everything planned out but in some cases you still need to talk through some important details
The thing about therapy is people typically associate it with something being wrong. Pre marital counseling was highly recommended from my preacher. He usually wont marry someone till they have counseling with him a few times. I think its great. Its just tips to make a stronger marriage. Its even better when you are married. i personally believe divorce rates are so high because theres this lack of communication and like tamera said building bricks instead of handlimg tje situation head on. With therapy yall learn healthier ways to communicate and build a stronger marriage. It's okay to have that outside help. Therapy/counseling in general is good for those who need it not only just on the topic of marriage.
