I find it strange that he seems to not hold himself in the same regard as toriyama I consider togashi a literal genius with a insane talent for storytelling. Nothing has come close to how much I love HXH and Yu Yu Hakusho was also amazing
He definitely does hold himself in the same regard as the greats like toriyama, oda or kishimoto. This probably saddens me the most as he lacks so much confidence I feel like when he truly creates nothing but perfection. Seems like he has massive imposter syndrome.
@@b_han True it's sad because I truly have never found a piece of any media including games movies etc. That was as enjoyable rewatchable and amazing as HXH was for me. Even so many of the deep concepts he explores such as Merum as a monster gaining compassion and humanity is so well done. Along with how well he writes and develops the surrounding world and characters. Not to mention I think nen as a system is the best thought out and coolest anime power system. The only thing that comes close is alchemy from full metal but even then I still prefer nen
I'm sure he's just humble about his works and doesn't like to be put in the light too much. He's probably living his life without the care in his world when he isn't working on stuff.
YYH ending was understandable. It implores to the viewers that in the last tournament arc there are fighters who are way more stronger than the show's MCs and we see Yusuke is at peace on losing a battle. That is some character growth from a yankee student who always gets into fights.
The reason YYH is still so popular is because it ended early, didn't drag the storyon and leaves everyone wanting more. This series has massive potential to come back or have a re-make.
Definitely not, the creator came out apologizing saying that he just didn’t wanna keep writing so he just gave it a shitty ending, he himself admitted its ass, there is romanticising the ending, it’s just bad nothing else to it
@@dundy7845 the literal creator of the show said it, this is not mine, I don’t dislike or like the show I don’t care much about it, so if the creator of the very show your white knighting has an L take, then buddy you didn’t even understand his show🤣
I really admire Togashi for having the foresight to realize that his life was more important than his work for Shonen jump. Japan needs to change. People overworking themselves like this is unacceptable and probably leads to less productivity not more.
This isn't a problem specific to Japan. It's just capitalism. The typical American 40 hour work week is also soul-crushing for most people. And it's a combination of being overworked while also generally being treated like shit.
@@zephyr_green9492 Yes and no... in capitalism is not perfect, but in most other systems that ever existed people worked more and had less power over the own lives... also less food available. (talking about the real world, not fictional systems with ultra technology and unlimited energy)
@ricardokojin7 That's simply not true. People today work more than anyone else in the history of the planet. Prior to the industrial revolution, nobody was working more than 20 hours a week. And the fact of the matter is that NOW we produce more than enough food for everybody. And the only thing preventing that food from getting to the people who are starving to death right now is capitalism.
@@ricardokojin7 This is factually incorrect, even pop culture articles mention peasants worked less in certain cases during feudalism. USSR and Current day China both show the people had and have direct control over their lives through socialism, and there is plenty of food is in China.
Here’s my thoughts I LOVE Yu Yu Hakusho. It’s arguably my favourite series. I could write essays on why I love it so much. However, with regards to the ending… Do I wish it had gone a bit longer and gone into more detail and world building? Of course. Am I sad that the end was so abrupt and premature? Absolutely. That being said, I do not ever believe anyone should put their health and life in jeopardy for their art. It’s just not right. And to be honest, I do think the final mission and such for Yusuke et all is actually really fitting. It’s touching, moving and I feel like all my favourite characters ended up where they should and there’s enough left open for potential continuation.
The manga doesn’t even have yusukes final fight. It also has a giant plot twist where koenma finds out that his dad was brainwashing demons and making them murder humans in order to make them seem evil, so humans can focus on demons instead of the atrocity’s of other humans. Not sure which ending I like better.
Yu Yu Hakusho is an anime I constantly go back to. Everything about the show is amazing, the story, the characters, the stakes, the animation style, the heart, the muisc, even the anime dub, all of it was top notch and so relatable, especially to a younger person. It's such a shame things turned out the way they did, but Togashii gave everything he could to make such a phenomenal series and it shows. To this day, there is nothing that could ever really fill the empty shoes of Yu Yu Hakusho.
The anime really stepped up for the ending though. Sure there wasn’t much meat to it but it still gave everyone a final satisfying fight where they got some growth.
It didn't need to be like 20 more eps but like 8 more and having a semi battle royale 3 sided war be the final main part of the payoff of the arc like it was set up not a tourney would of been cooler..seeing hiei kurama yusuke not try to kill each other while playing the leaders behind the scenes
Eh, he was just being a big boy about it and giving us what we wanted so he could move onto his next thing. Quite frankly, I watched Hunter x Hunter a few episodes past the first season, and no thanks. It's just another case of the perfect formula being discovered and the only guy who can continue producing the formula gets bored with it. Not an ideal situation for anyone, but at least we got 100+ episodes of gold.
@@CodeguruXhunter x hunter changes so much between arcs tho, I'd give it another shot. It's almost like a different show between arcs and focuses on different characters
The spirit world demon world human conflict needed its own giant 50 episode saga to explore imo...cause the series sets up a true conflict of ideals then just says scratch that yusuke is the key to everything
One of the biggest problems with yyh is the waste of kuwabara. So much more could have been done with him. Training under Genkai during the three kings to Better control his dimensional sword for example.
@@vivimannequin your right. The main thing with his sword is that he could change it a lot more than what was shown. he can also change its flexibly along with its forms. He could be using it as a chain to pull someone or to pull himself for example. The dimensional energy only adds to his promise.
He is a genius. But building a Team around you who you can trust to bring your manga to life like Oda does makes sure that your story is told as well as having your mental health and your physical health.
Thankfully it seems like his wife is at least helping him with HxH these days. He does the sketches and story while she does the line work, and I think either she or someone else does the finishing touches. Hopefully it's been helping him a lot. Which I'd assume, because he's started making new chapters again recently.
Oda is just ridiculous. He seems like he is just built for the harsh conditions of Shonen Jump while many other artists like Togashi break from it. I know he has a support system in place to give him more rest than other mangaka but make no mistake he still is incredibly overworked. He’s gone to the hospital multiple times for overwork and worked even harder in his younger days. The crazy thing about him is it almost seems like he thrives creatively under the pressure and would push himself this hard by choice even without the insane deadlines. I can’t help but admire him for this but it probably has taken its toll on him mentally and no one should actually strive to be this obsessive with their work if they want to be happy.
I love Yu Yu Hackusho. It was such a great manga and anime! I loved watching it when I was younger and now rewatching it almost every year it’s just so good. I know the live action has come out which i haven’t yet explored but it makes me think. If Yu Yu Hackusho is being picked for live action does this mean there is a flame of passion that has been relit? I truly want more Yu Yu Hackusho. Hell I was foaming at the mouth seeing a crappy cgi Yusuke cutscene in jump force. I think the best way to continue Yu Yu Hackusho would be one last arc. A movie arc. A finale of sorts it would be nice to revisit Yu Yu Hackusho in a new animation style and to see our favourite faces return. But also I’m sure it would be a great medium for Togashi to continue his story’s.
Thank you for making this video. Hearing this, I really appreciate the way it actually ended, and how the anime made it sort of sweet and nostalgic. I can highly respect Togashi for ending it on his own terms and you can see how the series kind of ages amazingly through said decision. Togashi stands among the best of the best mangakas for making such a decision and his work will always be remembered in a positive light.
I really love this show sooooo much. Such a master piece for what it isssss. Kuwabara had the best character development. He was also the key to the enemies. The man was loyal to his friends, would die for his friends and Yusuke. May I remind you he was also human and the others weren't? Every one was amazing.
I wish it could be rebooted and continued at a more reasonable pace. I'd happily wait a full decade in anticipation of a single season that gave us at the very least the proper closure we all deeply crave. Its a shame that we, both corporations and consumers, are so focused on rapid fire content instead of allowing creators the chance to take their time and develop these stories in a more sustainable way. YYH is already an absolutely incredible story, and it breaks my heart to know that if given the proper time, it could have truly been a fully formed masterpiece.
Yu Yu Hakusho really help me actually get over grieving the death of my father, I actually appreciate him ending it early, after seeing this video I plan on not working myself to death anymore either
Grew up with this series, loved it, but man. I was real worried when I saw the power levels and shit all the way back in Genkai's training arc. And sure enough. Super Saiyan 3 Yusuke + letter grade power ranks and the full human Kuwabara getting sidelined, while Chapter Black on had lots of good points, felt like if the series kept going with that framework, I'd wound up hating it.
Even though I already know everything these videos have to say, I still watch them when I find a new one. His story is, for whatever reason, just as compelling as the stories he writes. I hope he finds a way to be well, and get what he wants in life.
Yu Yu Hakusho is literally my second favorite anime of all time and I've wanted more for nearly 30 years but I suppose it was never meant to be. I tried to get into hunter hunter but just can't
My problem with Yu Yu is I feel it peaks too early with The Dark Tournament arc. I don't know how it would be possible with the story and the Demon World tournament but it feels like Dark Tournament would have been a more natural ending, and a more satisfying one. Like they build up Toguro so much and Yusuke reaching that level feels so great as a viewer. Then after that it's like Nope. Toguro, the guy they built up as the strongest fighter in Demon World, is nothing but a small fry. Also Yusuke who seemed to have reached his peak, he's going to get his ass kicked by psychics who have only been in training a few months...and Genkai's death turned out to be meaningless and a fake out. Like literally everything that happens in Dark Tournament gets back pedaled. It all just feels so less epic after the build up in Dark too....I'm just not really a fan of the whole Yusuke demon dad thing either.
The author said he wanted to end with the fabric between the human and demon world sealed and Yusuke becoming the strongest human spirit fighter on Earth. Then within the last few chapters the publisher convinced him to change it and continue it for another arc. The whole demon world arc was rushed and thrown in last second.
Man, Togura is one of the best villains in anime. And Genkai should have stayed dead, give the series more seriousness to it. That ending with Toguro and Genkai though, as he walks towards the gates of hell, and takes off his shades to look back at Genkai, “No Genkai, but it would have been a beautiful life”
YuYu is definitely at the top of ym list with my favorite anime and I enjoyed it all the way through but with the Chapter Black arc Turning out to be my favorite it made the ending feel so underwhemling
The the thing about anime they are a hit or miss. But yu yu Hakusho needs to be proud. It's a gem even when he is gone that's something amazing I love this anime so much
Damn I feel for the creator I loved the series but his health is far more important hope he is happy and enjoying the rest of his life thanks for giving us the closure 🙏🏽
Dark tournament and usukes student/mentor relationship with genkai has been something thats stuck with me since I was 4 years old when I first watched the show on toonami. I’m now 27 and am happy to know i will likely be taking taking these lessons to my grave. “You’re so scared of failing that you don’t even try. You’re not weak, you’re lazy” I tear up watching those scenes to this day. I needed those words when I was growing up just like usuke did
It's sad that we have to live in a world where it's always "Hustle hustle hustle". Creativity isn't something that you can just create out of thin air--it's like a living thing and needs time to work when it can and rest when it needs. People in general work better when they're well-rested and well-taken care of and I wish corporations would understand that. Creators aren't content robots and I hate seeing people burn out on their passions simply because they're not allowed to have a break when they need it.
Very much agreed. I'm a creative myself so I understand this better than a lot of consumers. Many people assume that feeling depressed or going through dark emotions provides fuel for creativity, especially for music (my main creative medium), but that's only partially true in context. As the legendary David Lynch says, you create at your best when you're healthy and doing well internally, and not being over-burdened by stress. From there, *then* you can use your darker experiences as one of many sources of inspiration. But when you're feeling down, creating is one of the very last things you feel like doing.
I didn't love the ending, but didn't hate it either. I'm glad it ended instead of going too long tho. I want so much more from it but I can't get mad at a mangaka taking care of themselves.
I really hate that most people who watch Yu Yu Hakusho either stop watching it after the first couple of episodes because they think the first episodes are too boring, OR they stop watching it at The Dark Tournament. Most Yu Yu Hakusho supposedly "fans" don't even know who Sensui or Yomi are. IT REALLY PISSES ME OFF!!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Just finished watching for first time and was highly disappointed it ended so abruptly. Now after hearing this it’s understandable, mangaka endure so much pain throughout the course. Now I’m leaving this video praying he found peace. All that matters at end up day.
Without Yu Yu Hakusho, there would never have been BLEACH. The similar plots are toooo parallel. Love the show and it remains my favorite show of my children reflectively and even holds a place today.
After the Dark Tournaments the series became fan fiction with sudden plot twist, a rushed story, and villains that don't have much build up despite being so important to the world within the series.
I just remember watching the show and being excited to keep binging and when I was about to click on the next episode, it just wasn’t there. It’s like the series didn’t even have an ending at all. I was so confused. I was like “how could such a great show end like this?” I couldn’t believe it.
Togashi only used a single assistant if one at all. Some manga have huge teams to worrk on the series. In the newest Hunter x Hunter chapters, more assisants were used; but it's noticable compared to his older stuff. I don't mind this. The peogression of panels shows progression of the story. The Succession War arc alone is unbelievably complex in it's story alone. It's like 3 different arcs put together into a single arc. I hope the succession war arc gets completed in the way it deserves. As for the Dark Continent, they should have included flashbacks of what happened during the previous voyages. We ven find out how Nanika came to be. The true horror that the ship is heading to is displayed. In the end, a few characters decide to live with human that live over there. For example we find out tbat the rest of the Freecs are almost entirely in this civilization (as well as some others families. It ends with the humans that decide to stay (it feels more like home) as well as the humans that leave carrying a new calamity. That's what I would do. I hope Togashi leaves the fans with an open ending so that there is cloture . Something that the reader is meant to determine since the Dark Continent forever stays an unknown.
Yu Yu is hands down my favorite anime of all time. It makes me sad there are so many people that haven't seen it. I wish they would do with this what they're doing with Rurouni Kenshin, because they're doing fantastic with it. I really think if they did that, it would easily become as big as Naruto or Bleach. It's the most relatable, self-reflection inducing, and beautifully told stories I have seen in any anime.
I finally finished Yu Yu Hakusho at the start of the pandemic oh man Has to be hands down my second Favorite Shonen. Shounen? Idk how to spell it but Great Video, Great Anime and Great Times.
I think oda got help around dressrosa arc because it was then that oda landed in the hospital from overworking so kishimoto had to help out, I guess he was serious about his quote to a editor if there ready to die for one piece
Aww this is so sad. Thats why it ended very strangely. It’s like me waiting for DNAngel and I don’t even know, prolly waiting 10+ years hiatus for Sugisaki to finish it and she finally did. I believe mangakas should give us a proper ending to their work. That’s all. It doesn’t have to be great but it shouldn’t be horrible either. Just a good enough ending for all the fans who followed, loved, and cherished it.
Even though this is a year later after this video was uploaded My thoughts are yes the anime is extremely good and is one of the best anime series ever released but completely over rushed they could have made it longer and i finished all of the episodes in 3 days reply if you agree with me👍
Sad it over but I don't blame him for ending it was great series but rather him ending it on his terms than risk his own health. Plus genius in having Yusuke have that clarity at the end where he questions why he's fighting like what he was also going through and if he didn't end when he did could have ended badly. So good on him for not wavering on deciding to end it.
I totally agree with the Title of this video, I’ve been saying this for so many years, if it came back got redone and the story continued like they did for hunter x hunter then YuYu Hakusho would definitely take over especially with all the weirdness going on in todays day it would fit right in
I remember back in 2021 I started watching it I was struggling a lot with well we don't talk about it. It helped me get through a lot tho. Hands down the best protagonist of all time
This is probably my favorite cartoon in general, not just anime. After watching this, Even though I really wanted to see more episodes, I’m glad that man got away. If it was killing him, it’s not worth the entertainment value. It’s not entertaining to know my enjoyment is a result of another suffering. Though I do wonder if he would allow a team to take over finishing the story while involving some of his creative input. Keeping the same animation style and staying on the same course of story telling, but introducing others to fill the gaps of art and help with the writing itself. It must take a lot of time just to make one episode. The amount of drawing, as well as creating the dialogue, the sequence of scenes, what to make sure is put in so everything is covered and questions aren’t left unanswered, all while staying within a certain time limit for the run time of the episode, and also not being too short. Quite alot of thought and work involved with that. I hope the man is doing well, feeling better and enjoying his life.
That's really really sad :( The companies need to take care of the gifted artists. 😭😭 Would have been incredible if Yu Yu Hakusho had been continued while not stressing Togashi. Really sad :(
Yu yu hakusho did have endless potential...it started so well then got bogged down a little with shounen battle syndrome for the dark tourney where characters have power ups for no reasons like hiei knowing the dragon of the darkness flame out of nowhere off screen when he couldn't do that before just to make him op ruining any tension..but after those first 4 rounds the show really hits its peak with the finals and then sensui post sensui and early demon world stuff before the final like 8 eps
@@jamesdime6865 And it was explained later in the series that Hiei was formerly way stronger than he was in the beggining of the series, he was just nerfed after his operation and was recovering his former strenght progressively
@@JoJoboiWavthat is a retcon cause hiei was more popular than anyone even yusuke in fan manga polls so the creator had to bring him back give him a bigger role redeem him for no reason which he doesn't do very well at first because yusuke just accepts his help that koenma forced him to do for his freedom and thus togashi had to make him stronger...I don't mind him being on par with yusuke but giving him a one hit ko move after a couple months when he lost to weak yusuke which still doesn't make sense why one shot beat him is all stupid...
@@jamesdime6865 it still comes out of nowhere to make hiei seem on par with yusuke and give him 2 big wins plus use a few weaker variants of it against another foe when he is recovering from using it...
Part of me wants Yu Yu Hakusho to get a revival but at the same time after seeing the state of Dragon Ball and Naruto, I don’t want the series to be ruined with a revival. It did end very abruptly but honestly anime wise, I’m contempt with the last episode being the overall end
I'm glad it ended where it did. The team is nearing overpowered level and I am glad they lost the last tournament. It's boring to watch/read when all their powers are world ending levels.
Started this in the 90's on adult swim and then on Toonami but due to school and program schedules I never got to see the end of the dark tourney.... in my adulthood, I was shocked when I bought the series and it ended soo abruptly. He could have outsourced the work... it was such a L for the anime community
I don't think there is anything too upsetting about Togashi praising Toriyama as a true genius since Dragon Ball was sort of the first of its kind and Yu Yu Hakusho probably wouldn't exist if it weren't for following that example. I think Yu Yu Hakusho improves on Dragon Ball with its own twists, and raises the stakes and respects the viewer/reader's time much more. Major stuff happens at a more brisk pace in Yu Yu Hakusho, and it's got a honed edge to its fights and its humor. Togashi is just praising his GOATed senpai like anyone else would. To put himself alongside Toriyama would just come off a little arrogant, he naturally looks up to him the same way we all do. Yu Yu Hakusho, Hunter x Hunter, and Dragon Ball all have had a problem sticking the ending/landing flawlessly, but art like everything else in life is more interesting because of the flaws. I actually like the messy look of some of those panels, and doing one last tournament was playing to the story's strengths more than one long drawn-out war probably would've. And considering Togashi himself didn't even want to do it, it would have felt even more like padding. If you want drawn-out all-out wars to close everything off, we can just go to Naruto for that.
I honestly think if there were more animators and writers along with more people to help togashi with writing and animating I think you would have not been permanently ended!
It's not about it being "The life that someone chose" it's more like. If you have more story in you that you want to tell, and are overburdened. Just get somebody else to draw for you. I don't understand why this is so difficult. Get a team of artists, release content monthly. It's really not that hard.
I love it, it's my favorite anime ever. I'm sad they treated the author so badly. The author should always come first and if they want to finish let them finish.
As a teenager I hated the last arc. I rewatched with my daughter beginning to end. I still believe that a second tournament arc was a poor decision but I saw the story for what it is. There will always be someone stronger to fight and eventually everyone will lose however, being true to yourself and having people around you to live your life with is the most important part. Yuusuke grew up and choose friends over fighting. It was a great ending, rushed, it still deserves to be considered fulfilling.
I love how we go from simple combat vs demons to taking down psycho humans and the dilemma of killing humans with op territory powers with rules you have to follow not just brute strength kinda wish sensui had a territory like that as well but he didn't and it feels way scarier than say in dbz going from aliens and the galactic emperor strongest in the universe to cyborgs built on earth that they could of taken care of earlier if they wanted but chose not to who somehow surpass them in power despite 3 years of training prep...in yu yu it's so sudden after the tourney it makes sense their not strong enough cause they trained for previous arcs..not this one
Now wonder I noticed that too when I was a kid. Compared to the other arcs like with the dark tournament, the demon world arc seemed rushed and ended too fast.
Look Imma be real people be saying that FMA and DBZ are the king of Shonen and while I think they are very great animes, nah Yu Yu Hakusho is the King idc Yu Yu Hakusho is somethin else dude. Yu Yu Hakusho isn't even my favorite. Fist of the North Star is but I have to say...Yu Yu Hakusho is the King that's it all Imma say 🎤 Drop
Yu Yu Hakusho was 100% drawn by Togashi sensei. Its a point very less people bring and is often missed by people who talk about Togashi sensei. But that is also what makes the series so great.
The Greed Island arc really irked me for some reason. Yu Yu Hakusho has no wasted moments, I feel. And every series of fights feels pretty life or death, I think the fights against early villains Rando and Suzaku are still some of the biggest nail-biters
Don't beat yourself up for having to end Yuyu Hakusho., sir. As much as I love the anime I understand. Health first. Believe me I get it. I've had two strokes so I no longer do that rat race in life
You know what would of been really cool?...if yusuke really died and stayed dead longer vs sensui but after beating sensui who work together and get kuwa to slice him up then realize he's sick already and was dying and itsuki takes him then his pals chose to stay in demon world despite the risks of never returning after koenma tells them the sdf are sealing up the barrier an he can't bring them back..mainly for kurama and kuwa because hiei prefers demon world and they do so looking to revive dead yusuke cause they are told he's part demon and his ancestor is the king and they have to plead with him to save yusuke and he does in return for his own life after he sees their bond as pals that yusuke created and then yusuke takes care of the demon world control problem in exchange for him with his 3 pals and then they come back years later to human world
I felt, the series ended appropriately. where I had wanted more in the series, was in that I had wanted more spirit capers early on xD (as was originally planned). XD
I feel bad for what Togashi goes through with overworking, believe me I do… But it’s quite ironic to hear that he ended this series due to his “health”. This is the guy who continues to have the EXACT same issues with HxH… No mangka does this except for Togashi. Work related or not, it’s a clear skill issue. What was the point in taking break in the first place? Bro is a multimillionaire and still can’t finish a single story. Asking for sympathy related to health is an obvious “woah is me” cop out. My theory is that Togashi has problems with simply staying on track and wants to hop onto other ideas in his mind without completing the previous one first. Something like Inattentive ADHD… ADHD-Inattentive: - Trouble focusing on the task at hand - Difficulty following instructions - Inability to focus or prioritize - Trouble starting and finishing projects - Tendency to procrastinate Yep, sounds like Togashi to me.
Yusuke was supposed to be super lvl if it kept going💯 strongest character in the series during their prime is star lvl ❤️🔥and it ended cause the world wasn’t ready
To best honest so many shonen end with the protagonists being the strongest in their respective verse that I don’t mind YYH not doing the same, Yusuke is still top ten though easily
Yeah, it didn't pad itself out forever or wear out its welcome. It respects the viewers time and keeps fights tighter than Dragon Ball (not that I dislike Dragon Ball's approach of totally basking in its situations). Considering how few episodes the Three Kings arc had to work with, they got a lot accomplished in them
It could potentially had been one of the best shonen shows ever, sadly the writer wasn't feeling well and kinda rushed with the ending at the three kings saga
To be honest YYH does Progression, Growth and an Ending quite well for a Shonen Genre. You don't need it to be uber lengthy, you don't need the protagonist to keep powering up, and it ties all the arc properly.
I just really disagree that the ending of (speficifly the anime I have not read the manga) is "Premature." All of the themes explored are resolved Yusuke ends the show a complete person who understands his emotions and passions which is the journey the show was always about. We could have had more fights more villains more escalaiton, but the heart of the story a punk kid with a heart of gold who was completely written off by the world around him finds himself and becomes a full person. I don't need any more fights after that the story is over
I wished yusuke was part angel instead of demon. And his ancestral dad was an angel in heaven and he get called to heaven in talks of a upcoming war between Heaven and Demon world. Hiei gets called by makuro and Kurama by Yomi the same way in the show. They are talked about the same war coming. Raizen is the head of demon world in this idea. So it becomes Yusuke father in heaven telling his half angel son yusuke that Hiei and kurama are the enemy. People won't like this idea, but yu yu hakusho is about a individual hunting monsters and protecting humans. This idea can have major deaths behind it. Kuwabara meets Yusuke and ask where he's been. He tells him of the war coming. So eventually kuwabara listen because its his best friend. So Yusuke father, Yusuke, Kuwabara, the elite angels and heavens armies vs Yomi, Makuro, Raizen along with Hiei and Kurama. It's a lot I know but the potential could have come in numerous ways.
Ngl there's a big difference between overworking(yuyuhakusho) and barely working at all (hxh) he totally could've pulled what he continues to do with hxh with yuyuhakusho but y'know all good things have to end
It didn't look to have ended prematurely. I'd say it is one of the best shounen anime to have a satisfying ending. Compare that with Naruto, Dragonball, One Piece, Bleach, Hunter X Hunter where there is always a power spike the hero needs to reach. A never ending cycle of fighting the stronger enemy. In the end, the plot is lost and is left at the mercy of defeating the next challenger.
To be fair, the show is called “Ghost Files” which is suppose to correlate to Yusuke being the spirit detective. After Yusuke becomes part of the demon world, the title of the show doesn’t really make sense anymore. Chapter Black is the end of Yusuke being detective and the 3 Kings arc is more of a long epilogue.
I do think it's kinda criminal how overworked mangaka are. Shonen Jump has got to give them more regular breaks. Maybe sticking to weekly issues isn't sustainable, and fans should just accept that they may have to wait a bit. But maybe this can give other mangaka a chance, or even smaller side issues of manga not focused on the main story (I know these are a thing but they could always do more, give younger mangaka a chance with these, even just have the original mangaka consult on direction, but give others a chance to shine and give the guys that make the mag what it is a break. Just do more of those). That or stagger which manga show up which week. There are probably a lot of different ways to address this issue which needs to be explored because exploitation and overworking workers is never acceptable.
I couldn’t thank togashi enough for yu yu hakusho
especially Justin Cook, those two changed my life foreal
Yusuke Urameshi best dubbed shonen protagonist ever
And if you understand Spanish, the Latin American dub is god tier. I still remember the dialogs and voices
nahhh
And Kuwabara
Domon Kasshu from G Gundam is another really good one

I grew up on dbz only to discover yyh like a decade later and still think its the best.
Same man. Hxh is my all time favorite story and adventure.

I really admire Togashi for having the foresight to realize that his life was more important than his work for Shonen jump. Japan needs to change. People overworking themselves like this is unacceptable and probably leads to less productivity not more.
Y3ah have you watched zoom 100 ... it exemplifies that issue
Agreed. Yusuke was just barely beginning to grasps his full potentials in his fight against yomi.
Here’s my thoughts
I LOVE Yu Yu Hakusho. It’s arguably my favourite series. I could write essays on why I love it so much.
However, with regards to the ending…
Do I wish it had gone a bit longer and gone into more detail and world building?
We can only imagine what YYH may have become if Togashi remained well.
It's almost like a different show between arcs and focuses on different characters
best anime ever. was kinda sad the way it ended but watching the ovas made me happy again. miss the anime tho, yusuke is the best shonen protagonist.
I respect togashi as a person and an artist for inspiring me to be an artist and creating YuYu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter ✊🏾 togashi the 🐐
The spirit world demon world human conflict needed its own giant 50 episode saga to explore imo...cause the series sets up a true conflict of ideals then just says scratch that yusuke is the key to everything
One of the biggest problems with yyh is the waste of kuwabara. So much more could have been done with him. Training under Genkai during the three kings to Better control his dimensional sword for example.
I always had a feeling his spirit sword has a shit load of potential
@@vivimannequin your right. The main thing with his sword is that he could change it a lot more than what was shown. he can also change its flexibly along with its forms. He could be using it as a chain to pull someone or to pull himself for example. The dimensional energy only adds to his promise.

Good video, Togashi is a solid artist and deserves rest.
Amazing, video !!
I really feel Sad about HxH , but I really prefer that he takes care of his health and live well.
Super Saiyan 3 Yusuke + letter grade power ranks and the full human Kuwabara getting sidelined, while Chapter Black on had lots of good points, felt like if the series kept going with that framework, I'd wound up hating it.
but kuwabara rose to the power of s class by the end of the series
Good point, I too loved the series and found the fact that it had an actual ending, not going on forever with endless power creep positive.
The whole demon world arc was rushed and thrown in last second.
the peak didn't stop after the dark tournament arc tho, chapter black arc went completely crazy
Man, Togura is one of the best villains in anime. And Genkai should have stayed dead, give the series more seriousness to it. That ending with Toguro and Genkai though, as he walks towards the gates of hell, and takes off his shades to look back at Genkai, “No Genkai, but it would have been a beautiful life”
I wish we could get a Yu Yu Hakusho Movie that moves the story forward with supervision from Togashi.
I love Yuyu Hakusho and i respect the author coz health is wealth.

The ending was just awful
Really? Maybe it’s because they grew up watching it and never finished it on tv and never decided to pick it up when older
YuYu Hakusho > Dragonball > One Piece > Inuyasha thats just my opinion
After the Dark Tournaments the series became fan fiction with sudden plot twist, a rushed story, and villains that don't have much build up despite being so important to the world within the series.
fr bro
I would love a reboot of YYH
Yu Yu is hands down my favorite anime of all time. It makes me sad there are so many people that haven't seen it. I wish they would do with this what they're doing with Rurouni Kenshin, because they're doing fantastic with it. I really think if they did that, it would easily become as big as Naruto or Bleach. It's the most relatable, self-reflection inducing, and beautifully told stories I have seen in any anime.

Greatest anime and manga of all time!🙏🏼🔥
This is probably my favorite cartoon in general, not just anime.

How sad 😢 ... like how toriko ended abruptly too when we just got to the good parts of the gourmet world it got rushed
Unpopular opinion, Yuyu Hakusho is better than HxH.
All 2 are a Fire anime and all 2 heve the best ending possible
Something like Inattentive ADHD…
ADHD-Inattentive:
- Trouble focusing on the task at hand
- Difficulty following instructions
- Inability to focus or prioritize
- Trouble starting and finishing projects
- Tendency to procrastinate
Yep, sounds like Togashi to me.
I like how short it is.
There are lots of potential in the last arc but nevertheless I really enjoyed it and rewatched from time to time..
I don't need any more fights after that the story is over
video ini lebih menyadarkan gua bahwa para mangaka memang sangatlah hebat despite their permasalahan dalam progres karya mereka, respect!
Dope
Definitely sounds better and makes alot of sense too.
Ngl there's a big difference between overworking(yuyuhakusho) and barely working at all (hxh) he totally could've pulled what he continues to do with hxh with yuyuhakusho but y'know all good things have to end
Togashi is a genius.
One of the masters.
Ten de Shōwaru Cupid was his first WSJ manga. Right before YYH. A 4 volume flop.
I feel it end ok because as we look at other anime anything that goes on for to long turn out bad
Reminds of how Kubo drew his last hundred or so chapters. His character were so depressing
The worst part is one of the kings getting off screened lol. Apparently togashi didnt like weekly releases, yet then makes HxH?
I wish yu yu hakusho would’ve came out now with how the manga industry has progressed
despite the ending, its still an amazing series. what makes me sad is that all the other shounen replaced it
I do think it's kinda criminal how overworked mangaka are.
