Rolls can be bought on Amazon for $54 approximately but over on Jerry’s Artarama they are just over $37! They also sell large sheets.

Thank you. When I first started my channel it was for that very reason. I couldn’t get the answers to my questions and had to learn it on my own or buy lots of books to get answers. I swore once I was able, that I would start a channel that gave these answers often seen as a given or simple, and tell people what I have learned along the way.
Thanks for another video in the watercolour paper mini-series, Sharon. It looks as if you definitely got your daily exercise done while chopping up the roll into usable pieces! I've never bought paper by the roll - but I have bought a few sheets in the past and have then chopped them up into the required size. I guess the roll is the overall cheapest way to buy paper and the sheets would be next cheapest. I've always thought that flattening paper from a roll would be a difficult but the way you simply wetted it, and let it dry, seemed a very quick & easy solution to that problem. Thanks Brian. Yes Diesel is beginning to improve, but I do have concerns that when it is time to let him off the leash he will immediately have issue. And getting him to stop jumping on and off furniture is nearly impossible. If you want a cheap roll of paper, www.jerrysartarama.com has the Bee Paper rolls 140lb on sale for $37!!! I just bought 3 rolls. I will be set for a very long time. But this paper is great for me doing videos etc. It isn’t bad paper either. I would use it professionally or when hot press is called for. It has very little tooth. I do prefer my Arches though!

Wow, great price. I am using Blick Premium for the first time and it holds up well to scrubbing etc. Much cheaper than Arches.
Thanks for sharing another great video. I’m going to have to try this for my large sheets. I’ve been using a box cutter and fretting for my fingers each time. The decal edge is so attractive.
Oh gosh, you don’t want blood on your paper! Hahahaha, just kidding. Yeah be careful. It is never worth losing a finger over!
Thank you for being willing to get on the floor for the Demonstration. Exactly what I will need to do as well and now I won't have to feel silly doing the same thing. I love the tip about tearing the edges. I recently saw some work by Julie VonDerVellen where she uses watercolor then weaves into her painting. I got out my roll of watercolor paper roll and was luck enough to find you video on how to straighten out the rolled paper. Thank you! I have subscribed and plan to watch more of your videos.
This is great Sharon! I have a long quilt measure square. In fact, I have several. I think it’s going to work perfect! Thank you! I like some extra paper to use to practice with. When I do a painting I like to do some mixing and practice with my difficult parts of the painting. 90 lb. paper is good for that. The pieces with the flat edge would be great for that also. I love that now your have the deckled edge! 🥰
This is a great video and you make this look so easy. You should see me trying to wrap presents with paper that is extra curling. lol

Great how to video Sharon! I have one of those metal square rulers and it is also rusty haha. Never knew I could easily cut wc paper with it.
I may have to get some rust remover for it and oil it then clean the oil off so that I don’t have to worry about it getting rust on the paper though.

That is a great question. Yes most likely it will because the paper was never stretched. I just let it do it’s own thing. It is the pulling on the wet fibers that keeps it flat. I don’t stretch my paper. I just tape edges down or use a block. If it is a crappy block I will tape those edges also. The key is that if it is taped, it will dry flat. If water is controlled blooms won’t be an issue. If I don’t tape my paper down it will warp as it dries every time.
@@SharonCullenArt I tape if not a block also. I had one that didn't dry flat so I put a cotton dishtowel on the back,sprayed it and ironed it . Came out nice and flat. Did set some books on as it cooled.
The things we go thru for our artsy habits. Thank you. For your metal ruler maybe try krypton clear coat so u don’t have to worry about rust

Sharon...How many lbs is the Bee Paper? I managed to score a few of the 9x12 140lb sketch books but when I went back to check for some more, they were gone😭! I do have some of the 90lb sheets but it's a lot more thin...
