My first thought when I read that the cats are named after his former disciple and can get human forms, was that the cats are his former disciples. Im assuming this is after Luo binghes "revenge and merging of the 3 realms" yk all that. And idk, PIDW, TGCF, and MDZS are all the same universe, so the gods went to take care of Luo binge? or like Hua Cheng did? Idk anyways, im thinking after they (the discaples) died, their souls stayed and followed him around, and when he started cultivation or the cats started cultivation, their souls went in the cats.
