go watch some bamabass pond videos he explains and tells how to manage a pond, how to get away algae/grass and everything you need to know about ponds!
it seems counter productive, but a Clemson extension agent suggested I fertilize my pond when it was over grown with grass. He further explained that the fertilizer would darken the water thus not allowing photosynthesis to occur. The grass slowly died off and I havent had a grass problem for years. FYI
Kinda hard to tell with just a quick glimpse, but that appears to be Chara. Chara, which is the genus name, is actually not a rooted plant. It is what they call a macrophytic algae and is typically an indicator of good water quality. As he mentioned, it does consolidate the sediments and help prevent the release of nutrients into the water column. They are not rooted and can be raked out and left to die, where they’ll rapidly break down into a white dust. We studied Muskies in the St Lawrence during grad school and it was not very helpful for Muskie spawning. That being said, it is not necessarily bad for the pond, though in high densities it could interfere with bass and bluegill spawning. All depends on what you’re trying to accomplish and it looks like you have some helpful biologists to provide you with good advice!
Bout time for a pond video!! Christmas for those bass came a little latr but im sure they sre still excited! Love the vids man. Keep us up to date on those ponds!
I found a woods pond about 25 yrs ago. Me and my brother started carying a canoe in and fishing is. It is about a 10 acre pond. Really good size. We use to catch 8-10 lb bass in it. It Was an absolute killer hole! About 7-8 yrs ago it started getting that same stuff that you are dealing with in it and now you can't even fish it In late spring/summer. It just took over and smothered it. You can fish it in the winter but in the summer it's completely a ses pool.of mossy stringy crap.
THE POND DOCTOR! The guy doesnt normally travel that far with his equipment(louisiana) but he can clear it with a floating tractor and use no chems. Then use minimal chems for maintenance. Insanely effective and he may go for some content inclusion. I've used him in my 2/3 acre pond twice over 10 years and it's great. Look him up THE POND DOCTOR
Give your local dnr office a call, they have people to help with management and custodianship. They can tell you about the right carp count by size of the pond. They helped my cousin in Missouri with a bunch of stuff in his pond, scum, plant management, stocking balance.
we keep blue dye in our ponds no sun light it can't grow that what helps us but I don't know if it will help you if we put algae killer in ours it kills the fish
They have machinery that drops into lakes or ponds and they clean out the grass an ect look into it there’s also companies out there that do lake an pond cleanings definitely need some better pond management MFR
I didn’t give you a thumbs up because I didn’t want you to hurt yourself when you build a ramp and jump over the pond then you can’t make no more videos for a while😅
You're incredible! Humility and humor, you've got the whole package!
You make great videos, but your comedic timing is what steals the show!
Stupid bot

grass carp for sure
I’ve had that kind of grass in a pond I fish for 2 years, went from consistent 3-5 pounders to hardly any over 1.5 pounds in 2 years
Put some grass carp on there. You only need like 1 or 2 big ones. It really helped my grandfathers pond. Great videos bro!! Thank you for the content

I wonder if aeration would help?
I’m that a wig you are wearing? lol 😂 Good grief dude.
Great stocking 😂😂❤
Tilapia. They’ll eat it and also feed your bass. Dual purpose. Only problem is you’ll have to restock it every year because winter will kill them off.
When I saw the title -😢
Use an aquatic rake to pull the grass out.
