    If I was forced to pick a favourite song of Ren it would be this one. I absolutly love it for the message and the feeling he sends out with it. If I listen to it in the morning it fills me with joy and I am ready to take on a new day.
    When Ren say Shalom it always hits me in a special way. To me I feel like he is saying, yet again but in another way, "it is what it is"/peace.
    On a totally diffent note, I was a groom and cared for a horse named Shalom some 15 years ago. He was a big beautyfull horse from Ireland and he is forever in my heart ❤ So this word has a much deeper meaning to me.
    Loved your reaction to this wonderful song, it echoed my own thoughts and feelings when I first heard it. And this is the song I will put on when I need to be reminded of the power of the mind 😊
    Thank you for being the amazing person that is you, Guy! ❤

    Very accurate in your analysis. Ren always surprises us with pieces that are apparently fun, they really are, but with a message. As he reflects, brilliantly summarized, the form of "escape", the "trick" that he learned as a child to be able to forget for a while. moment how painful Life can be. It is very interesting that Ren tells something in such a poetic way, with the resources and circumstances that his mind had at that moment.
    The perfect flow.

    I think the "Shalom" is him making peace with the separation, and trying to find a way to 'welcome' the life that came after, despite its challenges.
    I feel that he sort of uses it erroneously as a kind of throwaway hippie echo of the 'what will be will be' line, but one that ushers in the new to focus on the positive; his power, his music.
    So although I don't think he is using it just as it ought to be, as a greeting, I do feel that it's representing the sense that when one door closes, another one opens. Hence the 'hello' to whatever is waiting on the other side. ❤

    This was oddly fitting after reacting to Masochist. Music is Ren’s power that he can focus on instead of all the shit in his life and hone his skills instead of wallowing in the pain, but at the same time he is telling us here that he’s using music as an outlet. And that is exactly what he did in Masochist. He poured everything into the song. And it made him more powerful.

    Take note next time you watch of the placement of the steering wheel. They are in the UK, driving on the left side of the road; yet in some shots, Sam is driving from the left side of the car and the passenger seat with Ren is on the right. I can only think the video must have been mirrored for some reason?

      Haha you're right, haven't even thought about the driving direction 😂🤗

    • @DenTweed
      @DenTweed 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm no expert but the most likely reason is actually psychological and a common thing in filmmaking. Movement from right to left feels negative while left to right feels positive. As Ren is the main subject he's on the left and any movement feels like going to the right
      " a notion that has long been widely accepted among filmmakers: that there is a difference in connotation between the two possible directions of lateral movement (from left to right or the other way around). Left to right movement is thought to be more natural, more positive, more future oriented and progressive than movement that goes in the other direction. "
