@@Vexal50do you know many 23 year olds? A lot of people at that age still look pretty young. The dude doesn't look like a child, he looks the same age as my 24 year old brother. He also doesn't have to look beaten up. Maybe if he was just a regular person that argument would work, but he's not. Spider-Man has a healing factor. It's nowhere near the level of Wolverine or Deadpool, but it's a healing factor nonetheless. He wouldn't exactly be good at keeping his identity secret if he constantly looked like he was getting his shit kicked in.

I dont think any comic game will ever top this intro. It was a big risk making their iteration of spidey be one whos been at it for yrs. But they nailed it. They just seemlessly tossed us into his life, threw us into a massive fight with one of his top foes and the stakes just kept getting higher. Also that song worked perfectly. Spidey 2 has garbage songs in it.

This is facts. Even with the different time of day, the PS4 version has more realistic lighting overall imo. The remaster lighting looks a little too hyper-realized at times. It looks cool, but the original just has this realistic lighting aesthetic that sells it

@@bmlloveeh they kinda removed textures lighting from some areas and replaced them with cheaper looking assets. The toaster for example. Yes the circuits look way cooler in the PC version however the toaster itself looks fake whereas on the PS version the toaster looks like actual metal. 🤷🏻♂️

Totally agree. And the original face had so much emotion which made the cutscenes amazing. John Bubniak was perfect for the role. The new one looks like a kid and can’t express emotions.
@@cathartictruths4345 there is a reason for the change of the cast. Yuri and John don't have similar faces, making it really hard to sync the faces. With the new actor, it's really easy, as the 2 of them have a similar face form.

One thing people forget when commenting about the lighting... the PC version added a new time of the day, which is "early morning". Different time of the day, different lighting.

Miss John Bosniaks Face. The original face of the Spiderman.
Here’s my campaign for why the original is better in every way without even mentioning the face.
#1 The lighting is better in the original. The remaster has some sweet morning glow lighting, but I think it looks too perfect/hyper-realized at times. The original game has this perfectly realistic lighting aesthetic that just sells it.
#2 The time of day. The morning is cool and it looks cool, but lets be real, Peter waking up while it’s already light outside and being late to the Fisk-takedown party feels way more realistic and fits his character better. He probably worked himself to the bone the night before and overslept. It just fits, and jumping out as Spider-Man into the city at peak daytime just kinda feels right I think (not saying morning doesn’t look cool).
#3 Some minor details that subtly add up. In the original his toaster is grimy, and he has a keurig, which is just hilarious (I just noticed this). The keurig makes perfect sense for a person who is cheap and has no time, and in the remaster the toaster is perfect and he has a carafe. In the original his chinese is empty and in the remaster it’s full of noodles (a broke and exhausted Peter would probably have inhaled those noodles lol). I know how tiny and borderline pointless these things are but I think they’re funny and all sell it. I think overall my opinion is just that the original is perfect, and I think they changed some things for the sake of flexing new tech that in some ways look cool but detract from the overall vibe that made the original feel so perfectly crafted

Honestly I don’t think the new face is that bad. The new face was kinda weird in Remastered but that’s probably because it was just wasn’t originally intended for the first game. And the new face looks really good in what we’ve seen of it Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. There’s nothing wrong with the new face it’s just that people were attached to John Bubniak’s face as Peter. And honestly Ben Jordan’s face model looks a little more like comic Peter to me. And I think people will warm up to the face model after Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 releases and then we’ll have seen in more than the original seeing it in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. And if you want them to add the ability to swap faces in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 that’s just outlandish. These are motion capture face actors and not just animation and they won’t hire 2 people to play Peter just to please a loud percentage of fans. And imagine how much more time the game would take to make. We probably would’ve had to wait another year for the game if they did that. I trust that Insomniac knows what they’re doing because we know that Insomniac did this because they thought it would be better for the series and I trust that Insomniac knows what they’re doing. Overall, stop being a baby.

The PC Peter Parker is the one from Spider man 2 and Miles Morales games. Although I really don't know why they changed that First model, The new one looks so much younger.
It’s a hard decision to choose between better graphics and a better face model so i just have the ps4 version and remastered version both installed

The only reason they changed his face is to make him look more like Tom Holland from the MCU. The original face design looks much more like Peter does in the comics.
