Guys there are a whole lot of UConn/Women's basketball fanatics out here with deep appreciation and knowledge looking for engagement on these subjects. My wife and I have been fans since the Rebecca Lobo years back in the nineties. Seems like two of you are awfully new and naive on this subject so if this site is going to be a success you need to do some learning! in a hurry. It's not just what is happening today that matters but having a sense of the history of this program and how this year's team compares to previous UConn seasons and stars is essential to appreciating what is going on in Storrs; how, for example, the front court has always been a key to the strength or weakness of UConn's chances. Also general appreciation for the other great teams in women's basketball for the last few years is absolutely necessary. I expect this years final four to be South Carolina, Notre Dame, UConn and USC or maybe LSU or..... It's hard to appreciate UConn without being able to compare them to these other truly great programs. Geno's job has just gotten harder and harder as the quality and quantity of the highest level of the sport continues to expand! Good Luck with all that.

I could talk for hours and hours about this program since Geno first got here, and I wasn't even alive for those days. We appreciate the feedback, but the other 2 are learning more and more everyday about this program. This was also our first episode, I will go plenty more in depth in the next few episodes. I hope you and your wife enjoy the next episodes!

Good luck, nothing like more info on UConn Women’s Basketball. Btw: you can see Jana El Alfy in FIBA games. Her dad coaches the Egyptian Women’s National Team.

Uconn wbb is known for having the toughest schedule. It makes sense because their conference is so easy so they play tough match ups

I'm a lifelong UCONN resident and UCONN women's BB team! Geno has always wanted our team to play the strongest teams possible. And yes we could lose a game or two. So? We're not the old Sue and Diana team...our opposition is much different these days because more girls 7 to 10 years ago were inspired by our women's basketball team and have dreamed for years about play at UCONN. As long as we have Geno and the rest of the "crew" and the team being the Universities priority, then I think we'll be very OK.

Thanks for bringing up the impact on young girls. Caitlin Clark is younger than the WNBA, but she and Paige and our UCONN Women’s fantastically successful players have shown young girls another way to a college education and the possibility of playing a game they love as a job. That’s motivation and girls are now able to compete at higher levels as kids. They’re coming into college with way more strength, skill, and “game”.

The UCONN womens program is THE BEST 🏀 program in WBB history maybe even on the MBB side also PERIOD. 🏀🏆 Maybe that's why GENO is #2 winningest basketball coach in HISTORY MEN'S or WOMENS just win 7 more games to become #1.😎 Looking for another DUAL CHAMPIONSHIP this year which would be the 3rd 2004 2014 & hopefully 2025.

First of all good luck on your show. The real excitement start opening night when they introduce the men and women team. Fan support is going to be extremely important to get over the hump this year. As for the injury situation no worries these players are ranked for a reason.. Too much overwhelming talent.

Geno said that the reason UCONN has so many players that get injuries once they arrive is because he said all they ever did was play basketball up until the time they arrived at UCONN.

Jana is 6.5 guys. Geno might try her at the Centre position with Sarah at the forward position. I think Ice might come off the bench. Just a guess. Then add 3 guards. Paige for sure (lots to pick from for the other 2). Might be hard to get minutes on this team. Ash and Azzi might share minutes (shooters).

They always start the season with a tough schedule. It might not seem like it makes sense early but it pays off in the end.

Kaitlyn Chen from Princeton U. is a player to watch. In my opinion, Chen is the best guard to have come out of the portal this past spring.

No mention of Jana El Alfy the Egyption? Or the freshmen other than Strong? As one of you said, this team is loaded. If Ducharme, Fudd and Griffin play and they stay healthy they are next to unbeatable, even by SCar.

Hey youngsters, how you missed to mention Jana El Alfy?! Tallest player, only center on this team? Terrible mistake...you have list of players at website and somehow you missed her? Not a good start of season for you

NOT EVEN WATCHING THIS BECAUSE I CANNOT STAND GENO. HIS COMMENTS ON CAITLIN WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. PUTTING DOWN A ROOKIE WHEN COACHES ARE SIPPOSED TO BE SUPPORTIVE OF YOUNG PLAYERS GENO WILL NEVER LIVE DOWN.
WHO WOULD WANT TO PLAY FOR THIS MAN. SUB CONSCIOUSLY 2024 UCONN PLAYERS HAVE A GENO VITRIOL WAITING FOR THEM AT ANY TIME.
HE CAN RESURRECT HIMSELF BY BEING A MAN BY APOLOGISING TO CAITLIN.

Geno used to know basketball. But I think the game has outgrown his limited knowledge and ability to evaluate talent (ie Caitlin Clark). Either that or he is a disingenuous biased person.
