  • A man allegedly murdered his wife and made it look like a suicide. Matheau Moore, 51, stands trial in Delaware County, Ohio.
Wife Emily Noble, 52, was last seen on her birthday: May 24, 2020. She was reported missing the next day. Her body turned up in tragic and grisly fashion the following Sept. 16. She was found hanging from a tree in a wooded area near her home. There was reportedly a 20-inch USB cord around her neck. There were multiple injuries to her head and neck. Authorities determined that this was homicide.
Noble was so badly decomposed authorities had to use dental records to identify her.
Prosecutors argue Moore killed her and staged the hanging. He faces charges of murder and felonious assault.
Moore’s previous wife Lisa Pedersen told WBNS in a June 2021 report that he once choked her when she was pregnant with their first son. It was New Year’s Day 2001, she said. They had been married three months.
“He came over, and he did, for some reason, he ended up, yeah, putting his hands around my neck,” she reportedly said. “And he started to choke me.”
It was the only time he put a hand on her, and they kept in touch throughout the years, Pedersen said. Though they maintained contact, she noted that he, contrary to contemporaneous media reports, claimed to be participating in the search for Noble.
“Once the details were made clear to me, I started to lean toward his guilt,” she said.
Both of their sons are now dead, according to WBNS. One of the children reportedly died at 17 by hanging in a park the summer before Noble’s disappearance.

@@christinecartwright7636My thoughts exactly. Great Questions! I’ve served on a jury before & as soon as we deliberated, we all spat out questions we had. As instructed, during deliberations, we did send questions we had to the Judge a couple times-and each time we were basically advised to just do our job & figure it out together. Having this option to ask witnesses questions would have been very beneficial! I think Beth Ryan is just upset about the Jury’s verdict!

And shortly she goes “missing” found the same way, he then calls her sister “I’m sorry she’s gone” umm the same day? Gone? How do you know? Wouldn’t you say… missing at the most or worst? But “gone” is more like dead…. Then the neighbor regarding him smoking in the house was TELLING!!! Again, not enough but I’m sure that sat with the jurors. @@trishah2145 Tbf, "she's gone" is probably paraphrased, and even if said literally, is it really that "wrong"? Brandy Zink also used the words "she's gone missing". Isn't "gone" the right word in a context when you expect someone (or something) to be there? If someone gets a call "Hi, is X there?" and you answer "No, [I expected him/her to be here, but] he/she is gone". It feels not that weird to me. English isn't my first language, so I might be coming from a bad angle here. I agree that the guy is strange, and his body language shows more anger than sadness, but if you're accused of killing your loving wife and you're innocent, you have reasons to be angry. I'm 2 hours into day 2, and until now, there's still A LOT of reasonable doubt. So people already being "sure" he's guilty either know more than what is told in trial so far, or think they are some "body language expert", and are ignoring the fact that different people act differently in stress situations. Anyways, there sure has to be a lot more coming, I'm especially curious for his testimony...

The prosecutor is no match for this defense attorney. We are in day 2 and she has done her homework with casting doubt to each of the State’s witnesses. The witnesses seem like lovely people who truly loved Emily but unfortunately their distaste for the defendant is not proof he committed the crime. If the State is going to try to win this case on circumstantial evidence they need to get witnesses that can show opportunity and motive. So far that has not yet been shown as his attorney is tearing apart their stories casting reasonable doubt. Should be interesting when we get to the experts like the Medical Examiner that can hopefully provide actual evidence and not conjecture and speculation.

The prosecutor hasn't shown one piece of evidence against this man, especially how he managed to get her through the woods and up a tree with no scratches, not even on his hands! It's impossible- the brush was so dense no one smelled or saw anything for a year, but he carried her in with no problems.

However I take your point- I'm not able to decide until I hear the medical/ scientific evidence in any murder case. Like here, in opening the state said she had fractures on face, Defense says their expert says absolutely no face fractures... so we atleast have to see that far into trial!

You need to watch the cop-cam footage deary, it clearly shows how he manipulated the scene in the garage in regards to - moving the esky with the cord on top & he let out more cord & he added a flashlight on the bench. He had the Audacity to call the cop into the garage & show him that cord as if the cop is a daft as people like yourself. He did this After the neighbour across the road had said he'd seen Emily in the garage that morning because he Thought he was cleared by that time, being daylight. Unfortunately for this wife murderer, John recanted what he said later that evening because he had recalled what he did that morning & day & said he knew he saw her that evening because he spoke to her. If you can't work out how he could get a person in that area without getting scratched, I suggest you stick to the one hour TV shows that tell ya the ending. Obviously you're not Listening to what he says about her phone either & how many times he has changed many aspects of his Story. BTW - the body was Not up a tree & it was September when found. Jeez.

Emily was found closer to the parking lot. Maybe, there was a way into the woods from that direction? Also, this is the woods Emily frequented? She got in & out. Mat could have too undetected especially since this is a senior community. Mat would have worn gloves (no scratches) & outdoor garments. Was questioning why kids didn't find her when playing in the woods. Senior Community = no kids. In reference to the smell, it should have been detected within 24 hours. Especially, within 4 months even along the perimeter of the woods along County Line Road & the bike path. Why would no one smell anything in the hot summer heat? I'm not convinced she was placed there immediately. Science will hopefully tell us. Proof & facts are needed.

Shame on them that they didn’t go in the woods, they let a dog determine if they should and the police who ‘looked’ just checked the outer perimeter of the bike area. Have any of you been down a bike trail with woods? It can be thick. How could they not look to see if she was hurt, injured or dead along those woods thoroughly? So, even if she was strangled, and there wasn't any blood, the dogs would still react to traces of cells from the corpse left in the house, in the car used for transportation, on the brenches of the bushes or trees she touched with her body parts, while being carried in the woods. Regarding the photographic evidence collected in Emily's home : At 7:15:51 . . . the 'State' offered page 2 of some handwritten notes that need explanation - 1) "get Emily a new phone" . . . WHY? 2) "burn documents" . . . WHAT DOCUMENTS & WHY? 3) "made progress on Mom's estate (mailed letters)" . . . WHO'S MOM ? & 4) "deposit checks" . . . WHOSE CHECKS ? I noticed that when the prosecution re-read these notes she left out the "burn documents", but the "get Emily a new phone", considering this search was a mere 2 days after Emily was reported 'missing' is equally important. OTHER CONCERNS are State exhibit # 29 (the guest bathroom at 7:07:14 & the master bathroom at 7:10:07) - Did they check for razors, toothbrushes & DNA samples ? NEXT: A photo of the closet in the master bedroom at 7:09:55 . . . It appears that there are only female clothing showing. Since we saw that the guest closet was completely empty, I think some indication of Mr. Moore's actually living in the home would be appropriate. States exhibit # 34 -The State also showed a photo of shelves in the living room at 7:08:57 - I can't remember seeing the Gun, magazine & Flashlight on that table when the responding officer was first interviewing Mr. Moore (day 1) & Mr. Moore went to get Emily's purse (looking for Emily's keys). I could be mistaken, I will back track and check that out. As for the Defense exhibit photos. I cannot understand why she wasn't given copies of ALL the photos taken, long before this went to trial. I understand that the prosecution only has to offer up those items that they intend to use, but seriously. Wouldn't She be entitled to review ALL evidence acquired ? So, understandably she was unprepared. DEFENSE exhibit 'H' - at 7:28:14, She was quick to question whether 'soil samples' had been taken from the shoes in the garage. DEFENSE exhibit 'J-3' - at 7:40:38, a) the toolbox should have been opened & it's contents inspected, PROPERLY ? b) Samples of the debris on the seat should have been examined & tested. c) Were the 'spare' license plates investigated ? And Finally, DEFENSE exhibit 'J-4' - at 7:41:28, Is that a 'Rope' lying across the console ? I doubt that the answers to these last 3 entries will benefit the defense's case, but they should have been presented to her before the trial.

I feel like the prosecution is trying to scrape for evidence against the defendant..first of all you have 2 friends that were jealous of Emily being married because she is not the single friend anymore..one friend was more long distant..the one that "said she seen bruises..then u have a neighbor that heard ONE fight..and a office manager that says she had an appt coming up..I feel not guilty ..Emily dealt with alot of death..and she just gave up..mental illness doesn't have time is of the essence when someone wants to end their life..sad...

It's early days for the prosecution, but I'm inclined to agree with your appraisal.

Over the last 2 months I've been struggling really bad with mental illness. A few times I've been so low and wanted to call it quits. From my experience the mental torture was unbearable, the last thing on my mind was upcoming appointments, I was using all my energy to try and get through the next 5 minutes. I know we are all different, but if she was in the middle of a mental crisis a dental appointment would be the last thing on her mind. I hope she has found peace and is with her loved ones.

I don't understand where the defense was going with her questioning regarding the dental appointment, I guess that she just wanted to look professional 🤔

Just beginning to listen to the defense cross. The female attorney is so condescending and snarky IMHO. She isn't helping her client.

I’m waiting for the point of looking at all these pictures of the inside of the house when there is no evidence of a crime inside the house.
