I have both. Love em both. Biggest difference to me is one Floyd is routed, one is flat mounted. My San Dimas (Gloss Black) has a solid maple body… heavy AF!! EVH is nice and light. Still, I love both guitars. And of course, the game changer…. Kill switch!!!
I like that the EVH seems to blend *my* favorite features of the Les Paul (pickup config and switch) and the Strat (shape and pots). Been looking at an EVH, still on the fence between this and the Tele-ish version. The Tele version can be had in an American made. Do you think that's any better? PS: Beautiful dog. We have a Blue Merle Smooth Coat Border Collie. Looks a bit like your dog.
I imagine the Tele (Wolfgang I think you are talking about) if made in America could be better that the Mexican ones…I have tried a Wolfgang and it didn’t feel comfortable… the neck seemed chunkier and possibly a little shorter scale length too. Very different at the time of trying it compared to a 5150 series.. I recommend trying both if you can before making a decision mate. The Blue Merle is a cool looking dog mate, my Jackson is a Koolie x Border Collie and he’s a real sweetheart. Thanks for watching and have a good one 👍
I have the neon 5150. It's fantastic to play. Just really fun. I've had a les paul, sg and teles. This is my favourite to play. The Wolfgang Signature MIJ is my next purchase.
Both look and sound great, I'd be happy with either mate, both headstocks have their appeal, it's a tough one, if I could only choose one, I would probably go for the Charvel, as it sounded a tad brighter to me ear, but only by a hair, like I said give me either & I'd be riff happy. Nice video mate, Cheers
The evh looks awesome, and I like the lighter wood. I love the banana head stock. Both guitars look and sound great.
Thanks @phillipbeasley72…I love the headstocks too which I did forget to mention…thanks for watching Philip! 🤘

@saltyassassin Haha yes the kill switch is fun…but yes as a 52 year old dude I do love the lightweight feel of the EVH 🤘

The neon pink is a real man's guitar, love it
