thanks for the video, really weighing the pros and cons of this or the panasonic af100 as we are looking to upgrade our xha1 sometime in the new year. Glad they got rid of the mode dial wheel on the xha1.
He forgot to mention that the monitor swivels on both sides of the camera. The 50 Mbps is cool for transmitting news gathering. Buuuut a bit to pricey for the avg semi professional Videographer. If I had the scratch I'd go with the Panasonic AG-HPX250PJ ($5,995.00) or Panasonic AG-AC160 ($4,795).
+Mbc Right, well it's not designed for photography, so instead of ultra-high resolution images, they focused on 2.37 million large pixels to allow more light to enter each pixel. This maximizes the quality of the video, especially in low-light situations. But I assume it can take stills as well.
Why on earth would you buy a camera that expensive that shoots in 1080? You can get SO much better quality for half the money. And not just resolution; dynamic range, light sensitivity, colors and everything would be better. Why would someone buy this ancient piece of crap?
For $4K, You get a Canon C300 performance of a video PLUS a 35-520mm (super 35mm equivalent) lens with timecode, HD-SDI, HDMI, two XLR ports, and a camcorder form factor. I'm not sure what's not to love really. If you're in a mini broadcast market that shoots with cameras like this, I'd buy a bunch of them and never look back. If you're in a market that shoots commercials and narrative films, this camera isn't for you. Simple as that.

no because you dont zoom into video, 1080p is only 2.1MP
Shadicon I was assuming this can also take pictures.
