Daniel Johnson I could not say that the battery life is good. If you buy one, you’ll need a portable charger that you’ll have to take everywhere. If you don’t use your phone very frequently, it could stay having charge during a day. Not longer.
I use my iphone SE as my secondary phone. It works just great especially eith IOS 13. Good for making calls, texting and for social media. Battery health is at 89% and still lasts for a day's use.
Well, I bought my iphone SE in june last year after my old phone broke. And I'm really really loving it. Its performance is really amazing even in 2020 considering its price range, and the battery last an entire day for me (I'm not a hardcore user or anything). Love the camera too, the pictures are really nice and it's able to film 4k videos, just awesome. The only neggative point of it for me is the small screen, I would prefer the 4.7 one, but I also like that it's not that big as the new flagships nowadays and it's surprisingly light and compact. Hope I can keep using it for at least 2-3 more years.

Since owning the SE, I had a iPhone 7 but just got the Moto G6 again, the phone I had before the SE. The iPhone 7 is pretty neat, faster than the SE, but no headphone jack and a fake clicking home button were downsides.
Idk why it can last this long lol sometimes I can use it for 8-9 hours a day and some other days I only use my iPad for media and browsing and barely use my phone. But PROBABLY because I swap the battery pretty often, about once in every year. So it can maintain the performance.
Best Buy is selling the silver iPhone SE that only works with Simple service for $65 tax included. I highly recommend it if anyone is looking for an iPod Touch alternative. Also, it comes with a GPS chip, so it's cheaper than buying personal GPS device.

I just ordered one too on ebay, same as you Space gray 128gm this morning. I have a 6s plus and to be honest, sometimes seems a little too big. I had ordered a se last weekd refurbished but when i received it immediately sent it back. Earpiece was excessively dirty, even the ports and it only had 80% battery health. Cant wait for the new one to arrive!!
My only iPhone has been the SE. I have been very happy with it. That being said, I am very happy that a new SE is being introduced. I will be an early adopter. I get around six to seven hours out of a complete charge, The phone fits perfectly in the tech pocket on my Wrangler Jeans.
The iPhone SE has travelled the world with me since it’s came out, I have the 16gb. On my second battery that was replaced by apple cheaply due to the battery issues they announced. Took it apart last week and cleaned out the charging port, worked a charm. I absolutely love this phone! Still not tired of it.
I am using April 2016 Model and my battery life is perfect. With 87% battery health, I get around 2:30 Half Hours of Screen Time. I am also planning to keep this until it’s dead on its own!
Two years ago I switched from LG G3 to iP SE for 4 months , after six years of using Android. The iPhone had a too small screen for me and I missed the "back" button. So I returned to my LG and I gave the iphone to my wife. A few months ago my wife and I were looking at vacation photos and I said: this Canon of yours is taking a pretty good photos. My wife told me: it's not Canon, it's iphone SE. So now I'm waiting until March or September and decide what iphone to buy ... the main reason is the quality of the photos and constant support from Apple. I currently use LG G6. Its ok but its starts lagging.
My iPhone SE gets me through a day and that's it! this is not a bad thing as it prevents me from scrolling through websites and social media for the sake of it, as I want the battery to last until I can plug it in.
My old SE 128GB just get a new battery and display today :-) Still for 2020s standards, its a very cool and compact iPhone. Today i played some games, took pictures, google some things, chat with people and the new battery working fine. It was around 7 hours in power saving mode. Before with the old battery, it was only 2-3 maximum (playing music and chat)

As an augmented reality developer, if at least one iPhone 12 has a time-of-flight sensor, I will buy the smallest iPhone 12 which will have it. Otherwise, I will buy the 5.4-inch model.
I have my SE and I love it to this day. I tell everybody that I will never upgrade, but with the new SE 2 I might upgrade, because it might be the last to have a physical home button. But I will never get rid of my SE, because I know I will find another use for it. It’s too good of a phone to sell or leave in a drawer. I love the design of the SE to this day, and I love that it’s not such a chunk. My SE does not have good battery life for todays standards, but I bought a charging 4,800 mah case, and with that I get 2 days of moderate use before I have to charge it. I also thought my battery was having problems, but when I looked into newer models, most newer models come with at least 4,000 mah batteries, and an SE, much like the 5S had a max battery size of 1,500 mah. So you can’t expect it to compete with the battery life of a newer model.
Still use one as my only phone, bought brand new in 2016. Fully charged it at 9am, with a day of usual use, a couple of calls plus my kid taking it to watch some TH-cam, it was still 9% at 11:30pm. So it still goes very well.
Trust me, I am a person who has always had a bias to smaller phones, my favs throughout the times being Sony Ericsson Xperia x10 mini, Xperia ray and the Palm phone, and the best performer (but by far being the largest in terms of size) being the iPhone se, my hats off to this phone! Having said that, I can swear by my life I am speaking for oh so many people who love small phones like I do, that every time I used either of the aforementioned phones, I always wished two things: 1-that the screen stretched all the way to the edges of that specific phone and I would be absolutely contempt. 2-the camera wasn’t good enough The iPhone se comes close enough but I always, ALWAYS wished that the screen took up more of the available space on the front portion of the phone.
Can't you check the battery capacity, by plugging it into coconut, on a macbook ? I have used my iPhone SE , since new and am quite happy with the original battery's daily charge-life. I leave it on charge every night, and always get through the day. (I think a new Apple store fitted battery is only £49 .) However: I do not use my SE for playing games or watching videos. I do listen to audio dramas , on youtube and Find My to see where my children are . So I am a light user of an iPhone. If I want to watch lots of youtube videos ( like yours) or old films, I use one of my iPads.-usually the 10.2 Pro , for superior sound. Last year, I bought an iPhone SE spare , which I keep safely in a box. I protect the back of my SE with a soft cover, but have never bothered to apply a screen protector. I leave my SE switched on 24/7 , and carry it in my right-hand trouser pocket, being careful never to put car-keys or anything metal in that pocket. And after nearly four years, there are no scratches on the screen . My call sound is the original Dr Who (BBC) theme tune , and I hear it just fine , although I wear hearing-aids. If the new "replacement" has better sound, and is not much larger ( and has a headphone socket) , I might buy one, and give one of my SEs to a friend. Let's see what Apple comes up with....... I am still using my SE, it’s a great phone but as you say the battery life is very poor. The battery health is at 90% that’s seems ok maybe it is the OS and the small battery. I am using a 4000mAh battery case I got for £20 it is cheap but works very well so I recharge every other day. I am waiting for the iPhone 12 but am put off by 5g which seems unnecessary and could be a big draw on the battery. Perhaps I should go for iPhone 11 as I would like the new all screen face. I got a SE after my first year in college. My iPhone 5c died on me. My mother went with me to bestbuy to help me get a new phone. The tecs there got me on to an SE. That was great untill about a year ago when I dropped it (IN ITS OTTERBOX CASE) and the screen shattered. I got a refurbished one, online, later from a third party. I love my SE. its kinda all I need from my phone. I dont take selfies so the low quality face camera is meaningless to me. The outward facing camera suits my photo needs just fine. actually have a little heart sticker covering the selfie cam lol. I love a certain brand of wired earbud so I must have a headphone jack on my phone. My phone is kinda treated like a ipod that just happens to be able to make calls and texts. I'm not to bothered by the small screen for my TH-cam watching. It has a clear picture and a okay speaker. The major downside is the battery life. If I'm doing things on my phone I can average about 5.5 to 4 hours of battery life on a good day. If its freezing cold outside my battery literally dies in 7 minutes. I negate this with my external battery I bought for pokemon go. But it's a little annoying to have to charge it up often. Overall I love my phone. I'm kinda waiting to see what this iPhone se2 I being to be. Is it too much of long shot to still hope for a headphone jack?. I want to hold onto me SE for as long as I can. Gregsgadjets: I bought an iPhone SE back in late 2018. I recently switched carriers and and started using it since. I’m an Android guy so I decided to switch things up. I’m extremely impressed by the SE. The battery life lasts all day with heavy use. Calls do drain the battery quite fast, but other than that the battery life is fantastic.
It's my main driver, but ever since I've upgraded to ios 13 the battery drains pretty fast. On ios12 the battery lasted the whole day without issues, but now it last like 6 or 7 hours top. Still a great phone and I really hope the new SE carry on with the impressive legacy.
Battery actually improved with iOS 12 and surely 13. It isn’t great. But not bad either. For testing porpoises you should get an official battery replacement and check it out 👌🏼 I’m enjoying it and considering getting a 128gb used. I have. 32gb version
I own the 11 Pro, but use my SE as my daily device. It’s awesome. Very compact, pairs well with my AirPods Pro, my Apple Watches, good battery life, good camera (this can be subjective), and just an overall classic iPhone design. Sure, it’s not for everyone. Doesn’t mean it isn’t a great phone.
My ideal smartphone is 5.25” diagonally from the lower left to the upper right corner. And yes, it is so much more efficient to have a 5-10 minute phone or video conversation than to type as nauseum. A phone can still be a phone!

Your battery was clearly bad and it's a simple and inexpensive fix. You can install a high capacity 2010mAh for less than $25 on Amazon. It literally takes 10 minutes.
My se is ios version of 13.3, and has 4 and half hours of screen time. Mainly uses safari, listen to music with tws earphone, maps and taking photo. I’m very satisfied with it :) The actual capacity of battery is 1575 mah according to 3utools.
The Battery performance is not due to iOS update, it is related to Bluetooth and WiFi... or Apps running in background (See Facebook). I keep them switched off and the Battery last one full day (original battery from 2016), I shoot video and photos up to 10 GB daily. The big drawback is the phone switching off in cold weather - below 5 degrees celsius. Thanks for the Great Video !
I used this phone up until a few weeks ago, I had it for almost 4 years, love the small size! I hate big phones. The SE finally decided to break on me, so I decided to buy the 4.7 inch iPhone 8, It will take some getting used to! to me this is big, lol.
Ive got a 7 year old iPhone 5s that i keep locked in its box , have owned it since new in 2013 when it cost me around 550 bucks , the thing is the battery life is still great, i tested it a few days ago with youtube media and it lasted 3 and a half hours , which is amazing for such a small phone, if i dont watch videos and use it as a phone it will get me through a whole day, the weirdest thing is , everyone i know who has an SE has battery issues, so guess the 5S was better in that respect
I use an SE for work (my wife’s old phone) and I make it through the day with all calls and moderate face time just fine. It’s the original battery from 2017. I think it depends on how much you’ve used it over time but some batteries could be pills.
Ngl the iPhone 6 original size has the perfect size. The plus sized iPhones are too big. The old iPhone sizes are too small. If the new iPhones were iPhone 6 sized with the iPhone 4s sharp, square design, that would be my perfect iPhone.

Using an SE with a new battery... phone is great. I love having a small for for one handed use. It also fits easily in my front pockets. Battery life is pretty good.. not quite like the newer phones, but still good. I refuse to go to these big phones. It’s gotten to the point where they’re almost tablets. I’ll ride this SE into the ground before I switch!
Am still using my SE but it now needs a battery replacement after 2 years and am my second SE in 4 years, the first one Apple trade it after they couldn't fix my screen and fucked my phone ( so they gave me a new SE in 2018). Battery lasts me all day with light usage. With hard use of it can only last for 10hrs. My battery is at %84 battery health. One issue i had but is now fixed with the ISO 13.3.1 was the battery life, it wouldn't last me a whole. But like i said is not fixed with the new update. And am looking forward for the new SE2, And as for my current SE i plan to replace the battery and keep it!. still works fine!
Se is perfect size for a phone..if I want more real estate ..I’ll use an iPad mini Ive been a Mac user since the classic 2 so I know a little bit about functionality and workflow. Next phone I get will have 5G in two years or so ..why waste money on a clunky new big phone..I’m not a gamer and shot pro video and still use final cut 7 so why would I wanna shot with a phone except in emergency situations.. I’ll keep my small se which fits in my pocket. Battery life us fine and I’ve used plenty of battery sucking androids ..se charges quickly as well.
Keith Farley my hands are average for a man. I hate when women have phones sticking out of their (usually) fat asses. What’s that all about? I usually hate texting... preferring a key board. I’m not a fan of big phones because they still don’t accomplish what a laptop, desktop or even now an iPad can do.
Under my battery health, it says “service” the last percentage I saw couple of months ago, was 80 I think. I still get a couple of hours of active usage between charges, but I do needs new battery.

100% brand new battery in my SE and battery life on mine is genuinely great! Plus being a small battery it doesn’t take long to charge back up.
in order for the iphone se to perform in 2020 the a9 chip has to work in full tilt so the battery life is very bad as a result

Interesting. I could max out screen on time at 2 hours, and standby was pretty bad as well.

SE still going strong. I get a day from battery. If I’m on the phone talking a lot battery goes south faster and phone gets hot.

I’m waiting for the iPhone 12 series to replace my iPhone SE as my main phone. As an augmented reality developer, if at least one iPhone 12 has a time-of-flight sensor, I will buy the smallest iPhone 12 which will have it. Otherwise, I will buy the 5.4-inch model.
I have my SE and I love it to this day. I tell everybody that I will never upgrade, but with the new SE 2 I might upgrade, because it might be the last to have a physical home button. But I will never get rid of my SE, because I know I will find another use for it. It’s too good of a phone to sell or leave in a drawer. I love the design of the SE to this day, and I love that it’s not such a chunk. My SE does not have good battery life for todays standards, but I bought a charging 4,800 mah case, and with that I get 2 days of moderate use before I have to charge it. I also thought my battery was having problems, but when I looked into newer models, most newer models come with at least 4,000 mah batteries, and an SE, much like the 5S had a max battery size of 1,500 mah. So you can’t expect it to compete with the battery life of a newer model.
Still use one as my only phone, bought brand new in 2016.
Fully charged it at 9am, with a day of usual use, a couple of calls plus my kid taking it to watch some TH-cam, it was still 9% at 11:30pm. So it still goes very well.
Trust me, I am a person who has always had a bias to smaller phones, my favs throughout the times being Sony Ericsson Xperia x10 mini, Xperia ray and the Palm phone, and the best performer (but by far being the largest in terms of size) being the iPhone se, my hats off to this phone!
Having said that, I can swear by my life I am speaking for oh so many people who love small phones like I do, that every time I used either of the aforementioned phones, I always wished two things:
1-that the screen stretched all the way to the edges of that specific phone and I would be absolutely contempt.
2-the camera wasn’t good enough
The iPhone se comes close enough but I always, ALWAYS wished that the screen took up more of the available space on the front portion of the phone.
The heck, just make the screen fill all of the current iPhone se and I would call it the best phone ever made!!!
I think I'm gonna get a used one as a cheap secondary phone to get into the ecosystem. Seems quite usable. Thanks for the review Greg!!

I have used my iPhone SE , since new and am quite happy with the original battery's daily charge-life.
I leave it on charge every night, and always get through the day.
(I think a new Apple store fitted battery is only £49 .)
However: I do not use my SE for playing games or watching videos.
I do listen to audio dramas , on youtube and Find My to see where my children are .
So I am a light user of an iPhone. If I want to watch lots of youtube videos ( like yours) or old films, I use one of my iPads.-usually the 10.2 Pro , for superior sound.
Last year, I bought an iPhone SE spare , which I keep safely in a box.
I protect the back of my SE with a soft cover, but have never bothered to apply a screen protector. I leave my SE switched on 24/7 , and carry it in my right-hand trouser pocket, being careful never to put car-keys or anything metal in that pocket. And after nearly four years, there are no scratches on the screen .
My call sound is the original Dr Who (BBC) theme tune , and I hear it just fine , although I wear hearing-aids.
If the new "replacement" has better sound, and is not much larger ( and has a headphone socket) , I might buy one, and give one of my SEs to a friend. Let's see what Apple comes up with.......

I have an SE. It cost me $60 for a used phone, but it works wonderfully and it even has MeMoji.
I am still using my SE, it’s a great phone but as you say the battery life is very poor. The battery health is at 90% that’s seems ok maybe it is the OS and the small battery. I am using a 4000mAh battery case I got for £20 it is cheap but works very well so I recharge every other day. I am waiting for the iPhone 12 but am put off by 5g which seems unnecessary and could be a big draw on the battery. Perhaps I should go for iPhone 11 as I would like the new all screen face.

I got a SE after my first year in college. My iPhone 5c died on me. My mother went with me to bestbuy to help me get a new phone. The tecs there got me on to an SE. That was great untill about a year ago when I dropped it (IN ITS OTTERBOX CASE) and the screen shattered. I got a refurbished one, online, later from a third party.
I love my SE. its kinda all I need from my phone. I dont take selfies so the low quality face camera is meaningless to me. The outward facing camera suits my photo needs just fine. actually have a little heart sticker covering the selfie cam lol.
I love a certain brand of wired earbud so I must have a headphone jack on my phone. My phone is kinda treated like a ipod that just happens to be able to make calls and texts. I'm not to bothered by the small screen for my TH-cam watching. It has a clear picture and a okay speaker.
The major downside is the battery life. If I'm doing things on my phone I can average about 5.5 to 4 hours of battery life on a good day. If its freezing cold outside my battery literally dies in 7 minutes. I negate this with my external battery I bought for pokemon go. But it's a little annoying to have to charge it up often.
Overall I love my phone. I'm kinda waiting to see what this iPhone se2 I being to be. Is it too much of long shot to still hope for a headphone jack?. I want to hold onto me SE for as long as I can. Thanks for making this insightful video.

same thing with the battery! this morning... 52% when i woke up ... i scrolled a bit of insta and facebook for 2 min (not kidding) - i went down to 42% ... i think brightness is a big factor as well. but yeah... Battery sucks... but the phone is amazing! love SE! love the compact form factor! cant wait for 2020 iphone 5.4".

Gregsgadjets: I bought an iPhone SE back in late 2018. I recently switched carriers and and started using it since. I’m an Android guy so I decided to switch things up. I’m extremely impressed by the SE. The battery life lasts all day with heavy use. Calls do drain the battery quite fast, but other than that the battery life is fantastic.

It's my main driver, but ever since I've upgraded to ios 13 the battery drains pretty fast. On ios12 the battery lasted the whole day without issues, but now it last like 6 or 7 hours top.
Still a great phone and I really hope the new SE carry on with the impressive legacy.

I own the 11 Pro, but use my SE as my daily device. It’s awesome. Very compact, pairs well with my AirPods Pro, my Apple Watches, good battery life, good camera (this can be subjective), and just an overall classic iPhone design. Sure, it’s not for everyone. Doesn’t mean it isn’t a great phone.
My ideal smartphone is 5.25” diagonally from the lower left to the upper right corner. And yes, it is so much more efficient to have a 5-10 minute phone or video conversation than to type as nauseum. A phone can still be a phone!

I have an SE, and I love the lil guy so much! But yeah, I squeeze maybe 2 hours of usage out of it, battery health is at 80%. Trying to research how much a battery replacement would do for it.

Your battery was clearly bad and it's a simple and inexpensive fix. You can install a high capacity 2010mAh for less than $25 on Amazon. It literally takes 10 minutes.
Would be perfect if the SE2 is just an SE borderless with notch for Face ID.

I have iPhone 11 pro and iPhone SE. I often use my SE for video and I found the quality is good and I like it. The only weakness is it is too small
My se is ios version of 13.3, and has 4 and half hours of screen time. Mainly uses safari, listen to music with tws earphone, maps and taking photo. I’m very satisfied with it :) The actual capacity of battery is 1575 mah according to 3utools.
I’ve had my SE for 2 years and has been a reliable phone until the recent update. I’ve been thinking on getting a X but not sure yet.

The Battery performance is not due to iOS update, it is related to Bluetooth and WiFi... or Apps running in background (See Facebook). I keep them switched off and the Battery last one full day (original battery from 2016), I shoot video and photos up to 10 GB daily. The big drawback is the phone switching off in cold weather - below 5 degrees celsius. Thanks for the Great Video !
I used this phone up until a few weeks ago, I had it for almost 4 years, love the small size! I hate big phones. The SE finally decided to break on me, so I decided to buy the 4.7 inch iPhone 8, It will take some getting used to! to me this is big, lol.

Ive got a 7 year old iPhone 5s that i keep locked in its box , have owned it since new in 2013 when it cost me around 550 bucks , the thing is the battery life is still great, i tested it a few days ago with youtube media and it lasted 3 and a half hours , which is amazing for such a small phone, if i dont watch videos and use it as a phone it will get me through a whole day, the weirdest thing is , everyone i know who has an SE has battery issues, so guess the 5S was better in that respect

I use an SE for work (my wife’s old phone) and I make it through the day with all calls and moderate face time just fine. It’s the original battery from 2017. I think it depends on how much you’ve used it over time but some batteries could be pills.
Ngl the iPhone 6 original size has the perfect size. The plus sized iPhones are too big. The old iPhone sizes are too small. If the new iPhones were iPhone 6 sized with the iPhone 4s sharp, square design, that would be my perfect iPhone.

Mine works. Great. Was purchased 2 years ago for $200.00 new as prepaid phone from Best Buy, with my att SIM card . Used mostly for gps and I internet, I have 2,aux batteries.
Using an SE with a new battery... phone is great. I love having a small for for one handed use. It also fits easily in my front pockets. Battery life is pretty good.. not quite like the newer phones, but still good. I refuse to go to these big phones. It’s gotten to the point where they’re almost tablets. I’ll ride this SE into the ground before I switch!
Am still using my SE but it now needs a battery replacement after 2 years and am my second SE in 4 years, the first one Apple trade it after they couldn't fix my screen and fucked my phone ( so they gave me a new SE in 2018). Battery lasts me all day with light usage. With hard use of it can only last for 10hrs. My battery is at %84 battery health. One issue i had but is now fixed with the ISO 13.3.1 was the battery life, it wouldn't last me a whole. But like i said is not fixed with the new update. And am looking forward for the new SE2, And as for my current SE i plan to replace the battery and keep it!. still works fine!

been a Mac user since the classic 2 so I know a little bit about functionality and workflow.
Next phone I get will have 5G in two years or so ..why waste money on a clunky new big phone..I’m not a gamer and shot pro video and still use final cut 7 so why would I wanna shot with a phone except in emergency situations.. I’ll keep my small se which fits in my pocket. Battery life us fine and I’ve used plenty of battery sucking androids ..se charges quickly as well.

Keith Farley my hands are average for a man. I hate when women have phones sticking out of their (usually) fat asses. What’s that all about? I usually hate texting... preferring a key board. I’m not a fan of big phones because they still don’t accomplish what a laptop, desktop or even now an iPad can do.
Under my battery health, it says “service” the last percentage I saw couple of months ago, was 80 I think. I still get a couple of hours of active usage between charges, but I do needs new battery.
