As someone who grew up without a father, these types of videos really help me find direction. I'm 24 years old now and have two younger brothers who don't have there fathers in their lives either, and I've come to take that roll without knowing much due to having nobody to look up to. Thank you Antonio for being an inspiration for my life and how to move forward keep up the great work, you have alot of impact on people just through videos as these alone.

@ifeelsoyy you’re entitled to your own life choices, personally though that sounds less than ideal to me, your kid won’t graduate highschool until you’re almost 50, and if they wait just as long you’ll probably be dead before you get grandkids

Yeah, but a lot of women today don’t appreciate the grinding life. They want the excitement and chaos that comes with party life.
Nobody ever asks me how I became relatively ‘wealthy and successful’. The answer is simple: work 60-80 hours a week at a job nobody wants to do for 25 years. Found an amazing woman who was down with my no-drama policy. In my experience, an exciting life is bad most of the time.

I remember going to a physical checkup at the doctor and when he asked how my life going I straight up said, "Nothing, I have a pretty boring life." He then replied that is actually good because the more boring my life, the healthier I am. This is true haha, ever since I decided to get healthy people call my life "boring" and "dull" because I don't do drugs, smoke, or even eat pizza. Only thing I do is social drinking.
So never be ashamed or feel justified that your life is "boring," chances are you have a much better life than other people and will be in a better state physically and mentally years from now or maybe even tomorrow. Take pride in your routines as they allow you to walk an extra few steps in life.

I am now in my late 60s, and as a retired person I really enjoy myself with my routine.
Go for a walk in woodland with my partner and dog; then play my guitars and synths, and then cook some good food, and at night look at the moon or planets through my telescope whenever possible.
This could be boring to some people, but I love it.

While I was getting my Alexander Technique certification we talked often about slowing down and one of my favorite concepts was "learning to wait". Just being able to sit there and wait for something; your appointment at the doctor, the server to bring your check, whatever it may be. Being able to wait patiently, without becoming irritated or distracted, even being pleasant, had become one of my favorite skills

Ditto to everything you said. "Boring" is highly underrated. People craving drama and excitement all the time was not the norm half a century ago and before. It is a relatively new phenomenon spurred by social media and modern culture, which is at war with anything deemed traditional. Looked at from a different lens, 'boring' can be synonymous with stability, contentment, and harmony. Boring is good!!

The final straw was when he got 2 DUI’s within 7 months. Daughters are now 16 & 17 years old. I spent all of the their growing up years with them. I did not date. Very routine life. I work, they have school, then it was their after school activities, go to church on Sunday, meals at home, etc.. people tell me that My life is “ boring “ & that I need to get out n have some fun”. I LOVE my routine life. I don’t want to “ go out” . I would rather “ go out” to watch my kids in their chosen sports & activities’. A very Routine stable,NO drama life!! It was nice to hear this video ! I’m not the only one that LOVES the simpler, no drama life!!

I have lived a chaotic life, where nothing had order, nothing was planned and it's all "interesting" everyday. It was not what many would consider fun or enjoyable after 5 days.
Simple, peaceful and predictable is where it's at. And we sprinkle in random fun along the way.

Amen. I have been "boring" all my life. I live a simple life. I work, take care of my family, do community service, and partake in some finer things regarding men's style. I don't drink, smoke, do drugs, or hang in the streets. Aside from some gray in my beard, I look pretty good at 47. A bulk of my stress stems from my supervisor position at work where drama naturally comes my way. But spring is on the way, so then I can get outdoors to plant my flowers and get my lawn together for summer. Last year, I brought my rose bush back to life. So satisfying. So, here's to boredom!

I can relate to so much of this. After a lifetime of an unstable chaotic and abusive childhood that led to a chaotic unstable adulthood. I am now voluntarily celibate and sober. I spend most of my time at work taking care of developmentally disabled children and adults and spend my off days with my 11 year old son. My life now is much more fulfilling than it ever was when I was a womanizing alcoholic entertainer. People often ask me if I miss the women, the booze, the drugs and constant touring that goes along with being an full time entertainer. Truth is that I am much happier living what they consider a boring life. Maybe it just comes with age but at this point in my life I am happy just to have stability and predictable days with family and people who like me for me and not for who I am on stage or what I can do for them.

Appreciate you sharing your story. A lot of guys have drama we find our way though but don’t talk about (which is a shame). It says a lot that you are willing acknowledge so that others can recognize that life isn’t always easy or great but no less special. I agree wholeheartedly that these experiences while not fun build character and empathy. If reflected on a better man. You didn’t say, but I would also argue that we don’t get to chose how we start life but we do get to chose the life we build, and now to treat others. Which is why what you are saying is so important. I would take time, relationships, and nature over money and excitement any day. Thanks for a great video.

As Jordan Peterson said... walk the line between order and chaos. Have one foot placed in order, stability, structure and patterns.... call it the "boring." And have the other foot placed in chaos, the unknown, the challenging, the struggle. One foot in order makes chaos bearable, and one foot in chaos makes order less mundane.

We have a lot in common. I went to 13 schools. My mom had 4 marriages. Definitely found that a boring life is heaven. I even live in Wisconsin. For me I have sailed past a lot of more educated people in my career because I kept my life controllable and I recognize the drama before it ruffles my feathers. I hope this one hits people who need to hear it - because turning off the drama is really the only path to heaven on Earth.

Over the past 15 months I’ve dealt with stage 3 colon cancer treatment, and subsequent side effects that have kept me out of work and home bound. A good portion of that time I spent bedridden. This is probably the first time in my life that I’ve taken an opportunity to have a routine. It was fine for a little while, but it became monotonous. I started sleeping up to 18 hours a day and my schedule got out of whack. Now that I’m in remission and recovering from multiple surgeries, I’m able to get out of the house more, and I do it every chance I get. I have a general time I go to bed, and a general time I try to get up, but the hours in between I try to mix things up as much as possible. My best thinking and creativity comes with a little chaos. Once my disability is approved, I plan on going back to school and traveling a bit on the weekend. My goal is to get my computer programming degree within the next 3 years so I can get off disability and go to work in a less physically demanding job with higher pay than I was making before. The payoff wit the better income will be that I will be able to travel more and go out and enjoy not doing the same thing every day.

RMRS, liked this topic. Have often turned it over in my mind. Could say a lot on it but will try to keep it short. I am in my mid 60's. Also, a Wisconsinite. Decades ago, I came to a conclusion that what's "boring", at least for me, is a state of mind rather than actuality. If my mind says it's boring, then it would be boring. I believe if you see anything, such as grass (green, not the other kind lol) or a rock for example, ask about their nature, composition, whatever, it would not be boring. Be inquisitive. Retired a few years ago, many said "you're not going to like it", "you're going to want to do something". Not even close to being bored. There are many things I plan to do. Not even close, yet, to doing most of them. Golf, learning to cook, reading at least one book per month (voracious when I was younger), many other things to do. When my kids were in grade school and middle school at the dinner table I would, as part of conversation, tell them three (just a number) things that touched me or made me pause and think or smile or laugh during the day. Just something I may have seen (still working at that time). I would ask each of them to speak of something (3) that they noted or smiled at or laugh. For me something as simple as "I like that the day was sunny" was good enough. Or if I saw a young family walking down the street. Also, human beings are creatures of habits, it is impossible to do something "exciting" every day. Said too much, thus I'll end this by saying boredom is overrated.

Having a boring lifestyle is truly beneficial for us, since an unstable lifestyle is usually quite unhealthy and in many cases generates trauma. This was a very insightful video!

Your best most insightful video. People say my life is boring too! I like to cycle and run a lot, I don’t drink at the pub that often. I enjoy being in nature and when I cycle I’m often out for several hours at a time most days all year! I do all my thinking in this space. I don’t think I’m boring, it’s my life.

Guess how many of us are stable and not regularly having stress attacks. 12:30 a channel ran by a doctor either psychiatrist or therapist I don’t remember what recently did a video on how discipline is an emotion separate from will power it was pretty interesting, channel is called healthy gamers.

Interesting video. Grew up on a farm until age 20, then had a very exciting life and travelled the world until I was 40 and did amazing things until my wife and I had children. Then I deliberately gave up that exciting life and stayed at home 20 years to bring them up alongside my wife. Something not many men did back then and it was a boring life but looking back it was a fantastic decision. We suddenly got hit by severe adversity but we gave our children just the stable life they needed to get through it and our sons are great guys as a result. Now they have left home so my wife and I are going back to work at age 60 in very interesting intellectual fields.
I always say I have lived my life in 20 year blocks of time and now I am into the last 20 and going to make the most of it - by going to work every day in a job I enjoy. Kind of boring getting up and going to work every day you might think but a lot less boring than just retiring and being aimless.

Some may call it boring. I would call it "semper fidelis." You're being faithful to your family and yourself by being consistent. Feels like a rare quality in this day and age and I for one am glad to see it being preached like this. Thanks for the great life lesson.

I’m a 31-year-old man who has achieved finally a very similar lifestyle with structured routines, and work life balance sufficient to take care of my body and health by exercising and cooking daily, I have to say that I quite enjoy my “boredom”. Although I would not classify this type of living situation as boring, I would say that it is satisfying. Certainly not exciting, dramatic, or whimsical, but I keep myself entertained with fun hobbies, and good people that I have chosen to invest my time and energy into. I try to explain to young men like my nephews, that all the shit they see on social media is not a sustainable way to live your life unless you’re getting paid to travel and try exotic foods and nightlife as an influencer. I am happier now than I ever was during my tumultuous young adulthood in college years, from caustic relationships, to financial stress, to balancing a full-time job and engineering school. This is a great video. Well done.

Great video Antonio. It helps to know other men are going through the same things I am. I too have had moments where I have blown up in front of my children. Being a father, husband, bread winner and bill payer, can be very stressful.
To me, a boring life means saving time to do the things my children and wife need me to do.

THIS video hits it right on the nail head. You may think your life is boring but in reality, you are living a GOOD LIFE.
STOP and appreciate that life! And today for no reason tell everyone that is a part of that life how proud you are of them and just how much they mean to you. And give them a heartfelt hug. Do it today!!

When we're older and wiser, we call this type of life the "proper" life to have. When we're in our twenties, we'd regard this as a boring life. In my mid-40s now, had plenty of excitement in my 20s, but once you've settled down and have a nice family, you won't trade it for anything. Somehow I got much more drive, perseverance, industriousness and persistence after I had my first child. Maybe that's just our normal paternal instincts.. to be able to push ourselves day-in day-out to ensure we don't let down our family and we're able to build them a good life and a bright future. At the same time, my attachment for material wants have also significantly reduced and I find more happiness and satisfaction in providing for my family rather than owning a flashy car or a flashy watch.
