I have a doubt if you said that the electrons filled in a step wise manner as per second rule. As per second rule in ca autom the third sell not fully filed then go for fourth sell

3rd shell surely takes 18 electrons, but firstly they'll be filled in lower energy states like 's' & 'p' (i.e., 3s & 3p) and then in 4s & 4p of 4th shell and then 'd' orbital of 3rd shell

I have a question tho, in your video, it says that according to the 1st rule, in the 3rd shell it can accomodate 18 electron..however it says in the 3rd rule that each shell(except the k shell) can only accommodate 8 electrons. My question is does the 3rd shell can accomodate 18 or 8 electrons?
