@YakkoWarner44 I'm pretty sure she got a glancing hit by Barragan's special ability, which is to massivily accelerate time. So Soifon's hand and then arm were aging several billion or so times faster than the rest of her, and not even soul reapers live forever.
There is actually a ridiculous amount of these Bleach This is Halloween AMVs. But it's okay because Bleach is amazing. And I like this song.

@YakkoWarner44 I don't really know. My knowledge beyond Aizen's betrayl is rather fragmentry; so I can't really say without some major guesswork, but I'm pretty sure that the more powerful they are the longer they live.
