The real significance of high-speed rail to China is to promote the economic growth of all parts of China. In all cities and towns through which high-speed rail passes, their economy has grown rapidly in almost a few years; it has realized urban interconnection in China and accelerated people’s lives rhythm. If you've been observing China for a long time, you will know that the way China builds things is indescribable to the average Westerner. They build things like there is no tomorrow, and in unbelievable speed. If China was the size of Spain, I think the entire country would be completely covered with bullet trains (even to small villages), and world-class airports in every city. And every second building in the country would be a skyscraper. Just give you an example. Many years ago, some developer built an entire apartment village complex. A very luxurious upscale modern large complex with probably around 20 or so high rise luxury buildings of more than 30 or 40 floors each, and with hundreds of luxury apartment units each. The government said the buildings were not built to the correct city regulations. Guess what happened next. They simply bombed the ENTIRE huge luxury high-rise village complex! Flatten the entire place with no hesitation. I don't know what happened next. I think they probably simply rebuild. They clearly have a different mentality about construction to us. If China was the physical size of Spain, China would look like nothing on earth today. Just have a look at this video. The real significance of high-speed rail to China is to promote the economic growth of all parts of China. In all cities and towns through which high-speed rail passes, their economy has grown rapidly in almost a few years; it has realized urban interconnection in China and accelerated people’s lives rhythm.
For example, a multi-billion-dollar high-speed rail line will generate economic benefits several times the original investment in cities and towns along the line within five years. This is why China has accelerated the construction of high-speed rail.

I think Spain has done well. But having said that, I think it is misleading to compare large scale constructions the way you mentioned.
I've been watching China closely for more than 20 years.

Ruling the world is probably never an aim in the Chinese's to-do lists. At least that's how I experienced when I lived there.
Speed with 250 km/h is only called the "Powered car train-set" in China. The standard for a train to be called as "High Speed Railway" in China is that the speed should at about 300 km/h.
Or called "EMU D-Class Train"
for 250 km/h train
The High-speed train on china
was named as "EMU G-Class Train"
Or Train operating above 300 km/h
until 360 km/h
the same,
Both was bullet "High-speed" train
that have able operated
above 250 km/h
The difference
D-train was operating on
Non-High speed rail track
just like Intercity Express in Germany that also mixed with freight or
non-Bullet train passenger
train
All of non- High speed rail track has been upgraded for allow operating
above 200 km/h
The G-train only operated on
38,000 km of Dedicated separated
High-speed rail line system that
also intergrated with also
HSR line that operated
350 km/h
However It cannot be intergrated
into Non-HSR track
Since the beginning of 21st century, China has been extremely fast.
If we put the number of inhabitants per kilometer and territory, Spain takes the cake.
In China, we often say that if we want to be rich, we should build roads first
@Vick Hon So China has got many magnificent roads and bridges, and the West has got a parliament that can freely quarrel
@@hottyrosa1626 However, quarrels can't solve any problems, but can only compromise to produce a not so bad result. In the end, a small problem cannot be solved for decades!
@Vick Hon yes, usually Western countries have that idea. Politicians and people aren't pragmatic and take advantage of the pros of both systems
China is not the first.
In kilometers per population it is one of the last.
China is so big that 98% of the population does not have access to a high-speed train. In Kilometers per capita, China is one of the last countries.
I've checked the average speed on fastest scheduled non stop trips in EU:
1. France 240km/h Paris to Lion
2. Spain 218km/h Madrid to Barcelona
3. Italy 191km/h Milan to Rome (only 1 a day)
4. Germany 145km/h Berlin to Munich
Far from the fastest Chinese:
Shanghai and Beijing 290 km/h.
Shanghai and Beijing 350 km/h.
Tbf no need for even more speed, the distance travelled in Europe are deceptively small compared to most of the world
@@Freedmoon44 you need more speed because if one train is 5 minutes too late the passengers may miss the connecting train and have to wait for 1 hour or more because the time plan is really thin. So even little speed will have huge impacts.
What's this soundtrack
截止2020年底,中國所有的34個省級行政區(除了西藏)都通了高速鐵路。By the end of 2020, all of China's 34 provincial-level administrative regions (except Tibet) had high-speed rail.
Tibet has high-speed rail now.
Why don't you do one of these data charts showing the countries that can't do HSR. Australia would rank as No1, and that's really sad.
Brazil too, one of the last
China: hold my Moutai
High speed is not something to brag about. Safety and on-time scheduling are more important. That being said, congratulations to all of these countries for contributing to the reduction of air travel.
HSR is almost universally safe. Basically every single HSR system in the world have had one or two accidents total over DECADES of operation. Japan's bullet train has had zero accidents I believe.
Why is USA listed, there is no high speed train in US!
Spain 47M People second posición 🤫😁 ooooooh dios!!💪🇪🇦

Really depends on the size of the country. Where will Japan put 50,000 km of rails?
yes
Unfortunately Germany could do so much better, but the car Lobby is so freaking strong here, so they kinda "block" lots of progress for rail and other alternatives.
china doing a pretty good job with their planning and gaining of knowledge and technology. it's pretty impressive and you can only give them credit for that.
That's capitalism, c :/
(That's why the commies are winning lol)
@@mablejansen442 that is corruption + federalism. China is not only a socialist country but also centralist. So no lower state institution will block the central government from building new railways.
But the big, big upshot is Autobahns, which countries with even stronger car lobbies (coughcoughusa) can only dream of having.
bloody proud Spain is second. excellent services. modern and nice, if a bit of a waste of money in some places
i am surprise too considering france is alot older.
@@lagrangewei In Spain there was always a great infrastructure in terms of trains.
What surprises me is that USA got there so late and got in such a low position, the automobile industry and flight companies have a lot of influence there.
American politicians don't have balls and submit to lobbies.
At the beginning Japan: hello, anybody here?
Japan actually thought about having a high speed dedicated railway back in 1940s
France: Yeah I'm here
Right from the beginning of this video by listening to the music style you know where it all is going to get at.
