I love Fiona Spence. Vera Bennett (then and now) is my favorite character on PCBH...it's a very deep character and Ms. Spence played it to perfection. Not just the bitchiness, and hardness but to let us peep, in bits, here and there, to the underlying frustration, loneliness and vulnerability of Vera, was a joy to watch (in the 70's/80's AND now again, thanks to TH-cam. I love the whole show, but Fiona Spence, in my opinion, hands down was the best ACTRESS on the series. Thx for posting
Thank you for uploading. Vera Benett is one of my favourite charachters in Prisoners. Fiona Spence seem like a very interesting person, with integrity and class. I like that!
Richard making a statement about wobbling sets on the strength of never having watched the programme, then backtracking like his feet are on fire. What a twonk.
ALL FANTASTIC actors Maggie Kirkpatrick and Fiona Spence and elspeth ballentyne& val layman shiela Florence anne phelan Betty bobbitt. Gerda Nicholson Janet andrewartha brilliant just brilliant brilliant
6 years later came Foxtels modern Wentworth. New version grew an enormous world wide cult following. I've watched the entire new series and the first 95 episodes of Prisoner Cell Block H and slowly counting. 😃
@AllGrownUpSteph I quequed to see her after the show ok she was tired,I said to her and Jane Clifton, they looked good after all the years since Prisnoer,Fiona remained poker faced,Jane laughed and said it was plastic surgery. I asked Fiona if she was still on "Home And Away" she replied icily twice ,she was "still on air",in otherwords she wasn't in the show anymore, anyway good actress, not the warmest of people.
@AllGrownUpSteph Hope I didn't upset you, just being honest, yes maybe had a long day but I came away thinking you're not very nice, doesn't take alot of effort to be civil,ah well.
Fiona Spence: great actor and what a classy lady.
Fiona is a super actress. I love her. She has a wicked smile.

Vera Bennett was the best character on the show when she left the show the show is starting to go down
They should have got her do guest appearances as governor of Barnhurst.
This was 1990. I was downstairs waiting for her to finish. Fiona was absolutely lovely.
Thanks for your kind comment. I totally agree with you about Vera and Fiona Spence! I'm really glad you enjoyed the clip :)

I still don’t know how those two got the job, he was always so awkward sounding and looking. And interrupted a lot. Can’t stand the prick!
I know! How time flies! Check out how they're in Liverpool! Shows you how long ago it was! ;)
May seem strange after all these years but I'm new to PC BH. Fiona / Vera-- she's the best.
She was a legend
What a beautiful, classy woman, great actress too.

I've of, and met, a lot of actors that play villains but are nice in real life.
6 years later came Foxtels modern Wentworth. New version grew an enormous world wide cult following. I've watched the entire new series and the first 95 episodes of Prisoner Cell Block H and slowly counting. 😃
She's well fit.

LOL, I know! He can't help himself! It's no wonder poor Judy's a nervous wreck most of the time! :))
Richard Madeley really is a new low
@67psych i feel sick now lol thanks x
I met Fiona Spence after a Prisoner show in 89,she wasn't very nice being honest.
Jane Clifton aka Margo was lovely though.
@67psych lol i suppose it would have been better then :)
@AllGrownUpSteph Hope I didn't upset you, just being honest, yes maybe had a long day but I came away thinking you're not very nice, doesn't take alot of effort to be civil,ah well.
My god Richard Madeley is tedious
ROFL! You'd look a bit haggard too if you'd been married to Richard for all those years! Ha ha! :D
I hate clips like this and didn't watch it. VERA BENNETT IS A REAL PERSON AND NOT THIS ACTRESS.
Fiona Spence should've played She Ra. She sounds a bit like her.
Fiona always reminds me of Jane Curtain.
