- Time is running and decisions need to be made! In preparation to moving to France, there is a lot we have to organize.
Selling the farm, booking an organizing the flight for our dog Abby and trying to decide about our farm animals future!
Very stressful and emotional weeks…
But the chateau is waiting and we keep pushing.

Seeing you tear up about your animals made me so emotional, Schatz. I know how hard it can be but don't worry. Im sure you will find a loving home for them and they will have a wonderful new family and you guys can move on to new adventures and thats amazing!! Make sure you take a piece of your Farm with you. I took a painted rock from our German house to the US.
Check out the videos from “ Lady of the Chateau” ( Chateau Pui Vidal)
They moved from California to France and documented it well.
It may give you some ideas for the move, first days at the chateau, paperwork etc.
Karen from “ Queens Escape” made some very good videos on the the chateau buying process, accounting, legal requirements, getting your liquor license.
It is very useful to watch before you start renovating, to implement some of these requirements.
I’ll look for the videos and send them in a separate comment.

Now its all getting very real for u both , it be amazing and stressful but its a new life for u both . Yes very sad to leave your cattle and horses behind i hope they get a great home . Thank for the update .
How exciting! The same thing happened to us when we moved to Tasmania. We had our house for sale, and the market was cruising high but then it sort of stalled and the house didn't sell, so we rented it out. We rented down here for 2 years while we ummed and aahed about building or buying and then about 6 months after we decided to build and got started, out of the blue we were contacted by the people who had been looking at our house when it was first for sale. The market had picked up again and we said, asking price or bugger off (very nicely of course) and it sold, YAY. Although later I thought, actually I wish we had of held on to it, and we could have used as our holiday place. Oh well. So apart from the financial stress, if it can work out try not to worry too much, as these things have a way of working out one way or another. Feb 29th is very special to me (bit of a sad reason) was the day my grandmother who brought me up died. She was 45 when I was born and I was 49 when she died. So I considered myself very very lucky to have had her for so long to really make a life of memories with her. I miss her more every day. This is going to be such a year of change for you. For me, too my daughter is moving away to university, so we are back to empty nesters after 18, than is going to be weird. Good luck with the big move

Your lifestyle block will sell sometimes it takes time , but I'm please that the new Chateau life is going ahead tho and we can tag behind u . I'm guessing it be winter over there still so going from warm to cold will be good I'm a winter person . I fell for u to for leaving the horses and stock behind but the new home sounds good fingers crossed . Moving always a big stress out and moving countries will be even more tiredsome but it all be worth it . Take care ❤❤.

Not as grand as your property obviously 😉 but we have close links to France

Hi guys congratulations to you both, well done. I retir about Feb and also will be returning home to France and to start my phase 2 of the house and barn renovations. Don't know when that will be ad still a lot to work out and like you I have animals to organise to take with me. My home is in Brittany, it use to be a carriage station (the rings where they tie the horse up are still on the front of the building). I have not seen my home in 6 years due to family passing and of course covid, but her anniversary is in May so I hope to be home buy then.
