For those who don't understand why Bei did this, Yao's answer is Bei because she can marry him but not Lui, that's why Lui had to kill Bei. Bei died Yao had no choice, but forget about the chance of marrying Bei . He is not just one person, really. It makes sense for her to be unable to select just one of his heads. What we must notice, however, is that the question "are you willing to marry Yi Chi?" is distinct from the question "who do you really want to be with, for the rest of your life?" Thank you very much for the explanation. At first when I saw the title, I didn't understand Xiangliu. He was so adamant about staying out of her dream, yet chose to crash her wedding by taking her away. It was like he was out of character. But now I understand that Xiangliu realizes Fenglong cannot give Xiaoyao what she truly wants, so he is instead creating the opportunity for her to be with Jing. Just wow, can you imagine helping the person you love be together with another person, solely out of concern for the person's true happiness?

I really blame this on Xiaoyao because she didn't have to accept Chishui Fenglong proposal in the first place. She knew it was going to be a political marriage and didn't love the guy. Even her father, the Emperor and her brother, Cang Xuan were trying to discourage her from marry Fenglong. They knew she would be unhappy. And although she still had feelings for Tushan Jing, she was deeply hurt and couldn't forgive him. So, if she had intended to marry her only option was Fangfeng Bei/Xiang Lu. He loved her but didn't know if she loved him. The guy probably never even knew what love was before he met her. She was too wishy washy even though she knew she had feelings for him. It was so dumb that she sent him a waterglobe without directly telling him that she would accept his offer to travel the world and leave everything behind. I don't care that the waterglobe showed a scene of the mermaid and merman mating. It' still an ambiguous message. What he did at the wedding was insulting and humiliating to her. But she thank him for rescuing her. Also, they still have that love bug in them.
I'm sorry, but Xiaoyao kind of annoyed me when she scolded Xiang Liu. We all know she didn't want this wedding. Just from her face, you can tell she was looking for a way out. Jing tried to keep his composure, so he wasn't going to do anything. I understand why her character is upset. When she goes back she has to face everyone and most importantly she lost the one friend that filled her life with joy and happiness. Someone she can have a secret relationship with without anyone finding out and causing trouble. With Xiang Liu, it's like she has to keep her guard up and be cautious because, with him, you never know what he's going to do. But with Fangfeng Bei, she could just be herself, relax, and let loose. Have fun without worrying about status, reputation, or being a princess. Also Jing at the end, admitting that he's not as innocent as his character portrays him to be, shows how his character is growing throughout this story. Admitting he did things to hurt Xiaoyao like she hurt him. Especially when it comes to Xiang Liu. It takes a lot to admit to yourself that you were in the wrong and did some things your are not proud of.
Xiao Yao is crazy.. How can you say you don't love the guy then cry like a baby when you think he's dead. Fang Feng bei is Xiang Liu! She needs to figure out who she loves.. Poor Xiang Liu. He's a bad guy, but would choose to save her instead of the whole world. Whereas the others will choose to save the world

Yes, XL wants that. He crashes the marriage intentionally to taint her reputation. So, no one else would come after her anymore. Only the ones who truely love her would. The only one who will accept her now is TSJ. If he didn't do this, after Fenglong, there will be more other suitors. Since XY didn't reject Fenglong, if there are other people coming, she won't do it. Then, the only way is to destroy her reputation. If only XY is stronger, if she is able to reject any marriage that she didn't want, he would not do that.
In this show Tiang deserves Xiaoyao ngl . Xiang Liu and Xiaoyao need their own show at this point where they truly each other’s love interest, going on adventures then have a happy ending. I love seeing em together

I don't understand these guys who are in love with FL... one Cang Xuan strives for power, supposedly to protect his loved ones and not FL, so he sacrifices himself and doesn't confess his love to her at the theater... the second Xiang Lu, also sacrifices himself for the cause, which means that eventually he knows that he will die on the battlefield, so he also doesn't confess his love to her openly and suffers and sacrifices himself in silence... the third Tushan Jing, in love with FL since she saved him, suffers in silence and loves him (I think he loves him, because I don't know if he didn't confuse love with gratitude for saving him) and is a complete idiot and a very naive guy who lets himself be led by the nose by everyone around him, especially his brother's mistress, who cheated on him and set him up for a child, and he, like a docile calf, let himself be cheated and now suffers and helps FL and her brother in silence, financing and supporting them in need... and FL has 3 admirers, but he can't be serious with any of them and live a normal and peaceful life... what kind of plot and characters is this, everyone sacrifices themselves for an idea, for the world and suffers without love.... it's hard to watch....

XL demonstrated Jing how to be a man😂 while Jing covers his cowardice with the excuse of being gentlemen.. XL'S straight to the point savage ways get things done at any costs. But, still, I don't agree with the way XL abduct XY. She repeatedly pleaded him, to marry her.. he got plenty of time to elope with her.. but he chose the most insulting way to do it. Then asking her with whom she wanted to spend her life is another insult.. because he knows.. even if he has doubts, that crystal ball with a mermaid calling for her mate is enough to clear it. I’m confused on why you think she wants to spend her life with XL, when all we’ve seen her think about is Jing. She has been thinking and yearning for him since episode 1. The person she thought of while walking down the aisle was Jing. When he asked her who she would be willingly to spend her life with was Jing/shiqi.
@jLachelle3 Jing is more like a reliable person, a best friend, and a loyal companion to her. But when she met XL as FFB in season 1, she started to fall for him. That's why when FFB asked her " Stop being Houling Princess and wonder with me" she didn't deny, instead inquired, " ok, then can you leave everything and come with me?" In season 2, her last poison pill is a crystal ball , inside it, There is a mermaid sitting on a conch shell singing to her mate who is looking outside and not answering her mating call. If you watch S1, where the mermaids mate in a conch shell.. you can understand what XY means😝

Her being okay to wander with him doesn’t mean she is deeply in love with him though, it can simply be another way for her to attach herself to slmekne to get over Jing/Shiqi, which is why she accepted the arranged marriage. Wandering would just be a better alternative than the arranged marriage. As far as the pill, she made the last pill with a memory they both shared, I see it as nothing more. The thing I’ve noticed is she is constantly thinking of Jing/Shiqi, always yearning for him. Even her grandfather noticed it. XL asked her if she was willing to be with Shiqi and she said yes. Jing/Shiqi is the she was thinking about as she was walking down the aisle.

XL was well aware of the implications of successfully planting the Poisonous Lovers' Bugs: both people had to be willing and love each other wholeheartedly. Wow....one is her brother and her sisterly love On e is friend .....fun and friendly love and sadness Third one is secret one...she actually love and desired most ...all hurting soft revenge to push him to become bold....and her passionate love demand .... Tushan jing and XY both are of same type. Care for all and understand everything everyone without their word. Xly is doing his duties as devoted warrior , one sided lover....and understanding secretholder to TJ. XY actually want TJ as her lover husband, she wants xl as her good friend to share time pass ....with little love and honesty. TJ maintained his decorum as a aristocrat... helped all old family (my, skinny pimply) helped his friend ffenglong, helped the prince, helped the rebellious general.... But helpless with all bad PPL. Almost lost his beloved...but never gave up on her. He gave importance to eternal love then physical desire. A good subtle character in the entire drama. Overall good person who can spare his brothers life ...even if he Hou did separated jing from his love XY. Everyone changed with time but not this so called weak fox. General changed from a cruel person to a lover and understanding friend to both XY and jing. Prince changed from loving brother to a blind lover who were cutting her wings... And so on. As much as I like Xiang Liu, I didn't like what he did. As Xiaoyao said, if he knew all along why he decided to embarrass and insult her? If he had threatened her before, nobody could be offended and her reputation wouldn't be damaged.
He knows she is Chichen daughter who was hated by all the nobles in the clan. All the men wanted her for her political background. He wants her to marry someone she wants to spend life with. Not just political marriage. Later Feng Long found out he is chichen daughter he felt lucky that he didn't marry her. Xiangliu did that all for xiaoyao own good

That was his intention. This is also why I believe he did the mind-reading. It was to make sure Xiaoyao would be happy with Jing, thus allowing him to continue his efforts to put Xiaoyao in a position with Jing. Everything he did was selfless not selfish.

At 41:45, the drama clears up the fact that Tushan Jing actually owns the Lirong casino--the same one that holds the slave death matches that Left Ear and Xiang Liu were forced to fight in. This clarification really highlights Jing's impeccable moral values. *end sarcasm*

For those who don't understand why Bei did this, Yao's answer is Bei because she can marry him but not Lui, that's why Lui had to kill Bei. Bei died Yao had no choice, but forget about the chance of marrying Bei . Lui loves Yao too deep to kill himself, give her chance to be with Shiqi. when she answer his question after drank, she said she's willing to marry Shiqi, but felt painful to answer the question who's the person she wants to be with. The person she wants to be with is Bei
I have another theory. Xiang Liu is a demon with nine heads and nine lives. How can you honestly say which one of his nine heads you want to be with, when you are drunk and under compulsion? He is not just one person, really. It makes sense for her to be unable to select just one of his heads. What we must notice, however, is that the question "are you willing to marry Yi Chi?" is distinct from the question "who do you really want to be with, for the rest of your life?" Now, she could have said Yi Chi, but she DID NOT. Instead, her head hurt too much, for her to answer. Either she still hasn't decided, because maybe she loves each of these men in her own way, or the answer is "Xiang Liu" the nine-headed demon - in every single form that he wishes to take! Remember - she loved Feng Feng Bei, who was really Xiang Liu! She has not even met every single one of his faces yet...

Thank you very much for the explanation. At first when I saw the title, I didn't understand Xiangliu. He was so adamant about staying out of her dream, yet chose to crash her wedding by taking her away. It was like he was out of character. But now I understand that Xiangliu realizes Fenglong cannot give Xiaoyao what she truly wants, so he is instead creating the opportunity for her to be with Jing. Just wow, can you imagine helping the person you love be together with another person, solely out of concern for the person's true happiness?

I really blame this on Xiaoyao because she didn't have to accept Chishui Fenglong proposal in the first place. She knew it was going to be a political marriage and didn't love the guy. Even her father, the Emperor and her brother, Cang Xuan were trying to discourage her from marry Fenglong. They knew she would be unhappy. And although she still had feelings for Tushan Jing, she was deeply hurt and couldn't forgive him. So, if she had intended to marry her only option was Fangfeng Bei/Xiang Lu. He loved her but didn't know if she loved him. The guy probably never even knew what love was before he met her. She was too wishy washy even though she knew she had feelings for him. It was so dumb that she sent him a waterglobe without directly telling him that she would accept his offer to travel the world and leave everything behind. I don't care that the waterglobe showed a scene of the mermaid and merman mating. It' still an ambiguous message. What he did at the wedding was insulting and humiliating to her. But she thank him for rescuing her. Also, they still have that love bug in them.

I'm sorry, but Xiaoyao kind of annoyed me when she scolded Xiang Liu. We all know she didn't want this wedding. Just from her face, you can tell she was looking for a way out. Jing tried to keep his composure, so he wasn't going to do anything. I understand why her character is upset. When she goes back she has to face everyone and most importantly she lost the one friend that filled her life with joy and happiness. Someone she can have a secret relationship with without anyone finding out and causing trouble. With Xiang Liu, it's like she has to keep her guard up and be cautious because, with him, you never know what he's going to do. But with Fangfeng Bei, she could just be herself, relax, and let loose. Have fun without worrying about status, reputation, or being a princess. Also Jing at the end, admitting that he's not as innocent as his character portrays him to be, shows how his character is growing throughout this story. Admitting he did things to hurt Xiaoyao like she hurt him. Especially when it comes to Xiang Liu. It takes a lot to admit to yourself that you were in the wrong and did some things your are not proud of.

In the novel, XL knows the answer of who xiaoyao want to spend her life with. The "gu" responded with a glow and pain at the heart that's how XL knew he was the one in her answer, hence his painful expression afterwards 🥺
I really hate the part that fangfeng bei ruins the wedding yet he can't even be courageous enough to confess to xiaoyao.... Look at tushan jing being very happy with the fact that the wedding is ruined....

I don't understand these guys who are in love with FL... one Cang Xuan strives for power, supposedly to protect his loved ones and not FL, so he sacrifices himself and doesn't confess his love to her at the theater... the second Xiang Lu, also sacrifices himself for the cause, which means that eventually he knows that he will die on the battlefield, so he also doesn't confess his love to her openly and suffers and sacrifices himself in silence... the third Tushan Jing, in love with FL since she saved him, suffers in silence and loves him (I think he loves him, because I don't know if he didn't confuse love with gratitude for saving him) and is a complete idiot and a very naive guy who lets himself be led by the nose by everyone around him, especially his brother's mistress, who cheated on him and set him up for a child, and he, like a docile calf, let himself be cheated and now suffers and helps FL and her brother in silence, financing and supporting them in need... and FL has 3 admirers, but he can't be serious with any of them and live a normal and peaceful life... what kind of plot and characters is this, everyone sacrifices themselves for an idea, for the world and suffers without love.... it's hard to watch....

XL demonstrated Jing how to be a man😂 while Jing covers his cowardice with the excuse of being gentlemen.. XL'S straight to the point savage ways get things done at any costs. But, still, I don't agree with the way XL abduct XY. She repeatedly pleaded him, to marry her.. he got plenty of time to elope with her.. but he chose the most insulting way to do it. Then asking her with whom she wanted to spend her life is another insult.. because he knows.. even if he has doubts, that crystal ball with a mermaid calling for her mate is enough to clear it. It's a love letter that only Xl can read.. but he still has doubts. Stupid snake 🐍
I’m confused on why you think she wants to spend her life with XL, when all we’ve seen her think about is Jing. She has been thinking and yearning for him since episode 1. The person she thought of while walking down the aisle was Jing. When he asked her who she would be willingly to spend her life with was Jing/shiqi.

That's why when FFB asked her " Stop being Houling Princess and wonder with me" she didn't deny, instead inquired, " ok, then can you leave everything and come with me?" In season 2, her last poison pill is a crystal ball , inside it, There is a mermaid sitting on a conch shell singing to her mate who is looking outside and not answering her mating call. If you watch S1, where the mermaids mate in a conch shell.. you can understand what XY means😝

Her being okay to wander with him doesn’t mean she is deeply in love with him though, it can simply be another way for her to attach herself to slmekne to get over Jing/Shiqi, which is why she accepted the arranged marriage. Wandering would just be a better alternative than the arranged marriage. As far as the pill, she made the last pill with a memory they both shared, I see it as nothing more. The thing I’ve noticed is she is constantly thinking of Jing/Shiqi, always yearning for him. Even her grandfather noticed it. XL asked her if she was willing to be with Shiqi and she said yes. Jing/Shiqi is the she was thinking about as she was walking down the aisle.

XL was well aware of the implications of successfully planting the Poisonous Lovers' Bugs: both people had to be willing and love each other wholeheartedly. He knew the crystal ball was XY's confession. The reason he stopped XY from marrying FL in the most devastating and humiliating way possible was because he wanted to cut off any hope XY had of them being together by killing off FFB. He ruined XY's reputation so that in the future, only someone who really loved her would want to marry her. It deeply hurt XL to have to do this to her, but he resolved to be cruel to XY and even crueler to himself because he had already chosen to die on the battlefield against CX and wanted XY to live well and have someone she could rely on after his death.

That was his intention. This is also why I believe he did the mind-reading. It was to make sure Xiaoyao would be happy with Jing, thus allowing him to continue his efforts to put Xiaoyao in a position with Jing. Everything he did was selfless not selfish.
