Extremely educative and well defined video...
Been there in Aug 2017...it was an awesome exp...weather was good and bearable till balu ka ghera...we had a pleasant weather all through except the day when we trekked from balu ka ghera to sheaguru when one crosses the hampta pass, when it rained and made climbing down the mountain tricky as it gets a little slippery and the steep downslope makes it a bit tricky/risky...otherwise if you are lucky with no rains for a few days preceding this part of the trail, its an awesome moderate level trek
It is an awesome trek which start from kullu valley to spiti valley... Superb experience
Which month did you go in?
I am heading up there for a solo trek next week.. Am planning not to carry tent and sleeping bag, are there camps set up on the trek which could be rented?

I did Hampta pass this year with IndiaHikes in first week of August ; this was my second trek after Chandrashilla and I can tell you the experience was amazing !! ...... I am glad I did this trek .... Do note this trek will test your fitness if you are first time trekkers and Monsoon treks always have the additional risk... however the overall experience of this trek surpassed all issues we faced not to mention the exceptional handling of the IH team

Hello! I wanted to know if it’s safe to go to hampta pass trek now in July when it’s raining heavily? We planned on going on 8th however weather reports shows heavy rains throughout the week.

This was supposed to be my first full fledged trek on June 13 batch but Virus Attack and there's not any antivirus yet.
We hope things get better soon, and you get to trek. Make sure you go there some time, perhaps next year. IT's worth doing once in your lifetime!

We are planning to trek Hampta during the 2nd week of Oct. Will it be good? Will it be snowy?
Hmmm second week of October could be a bit late. You could see the first bout of snow, which could block off the pass. If you have a technical guide with you, you might be able to manage. But I would recommend going earlier, maybe the end of September and not too late into October.

Hi Sanket, if it's a first time for many of your friends, go for Beas Kund. Hampta Pass can be challenging for the first timers.

It's not likely to happen this year. :( We are hopeful about September, but definitely not August.
We need little snow- touched mountain under the blue sky with white cloud. Which time will be good then and the charge per head.
June would be a good time to see snow at Hampta pass and also see blue skies. the rain wouldn't have started in its full fledged form in June. Come mid July, it starts raining quite a bit. so time your trek in June.

How tough is Hamptapass trek for city dwellers?
Hello Sanjay :) The Hampta pass trek is one of our moderately difficult treks. On this trek you also climb to a maximum altitude of around 14,000 feet. That being said, prior fitness preparation is extremely important. We recommend to start your preparation at least 30-45 days before the start of any trek. Wouldn't recommend it because there's still too much snow beyond Jwara and the trail is blocked. The trek opens only by the end of June
