When i did my cbt they said to never ride near the curb on a 60 road on a 50cc but i think its stupid riding near the curb [positoon one] is a bit more safer on a 50cc or for bikes what cant quite do 50mph yes u may get the odd person give u a inch of room but most people over take with a good amount of room and often say thanck you
Makes a lot of sense to get the theory done prior to CBT. I trained with a 16yr old and his biggest challenge on the day was being able to read the road.
Back around 24 years ago , one of my motorcycles was actually a 125 cc twist & rip auto scoot ,a Malaguti Maddison maxi styled Scoot which shared the Yam majesty engine . At the bottom of a local hill under a rail bridge was a flooded road , I decided to go for it & managed following a big bow wave to get through . A few weeks later the regulator / rectifier ,situated low in belly pan ,had corroded & burnt out causing my battery to go flat causing lights on dash to flicker & engine to just about make it to the dealer ,for a replacement regulator / rectifier to be fitted under warranty . Ever since then I have been wary about riding through any water deeper than 4 inches ,although my motorcycles have their regulator / regulators fitted higher than belly pan height . The bloke stating that you shouldn’t ride at 4O mph is obviously not living in the real world ,& I wouldn’t like to buy a used bike off him ,as the engine will have probably been ragged to hell during it’s vital few miles of run in period . That water looks fun. Do you remeber the floods in the 90s? We had so much fun making bow waves as teenagers haha So much rain the water pressure was lifting manhole covers and flowing out like mini fountains. As for the people who criticize what you say about how you ride. I hope they actually take note of what you are saying. Who the heck are the instructors saying about dominating the lane? They could cause a serious accident telling people that. If the guy thinks that how to teach people he should not be teaching PERIOD! Some one that has only passed their CBT two years ago knows more then the manufacturers who make the bikes? I think that says it all really and will leave it there.
