My first car was a 1961 Ford Econoline. I bought it in 1973. This one is absolutely spectacular!

I had a stock 1965 Econoline in 1986. Amazing craftsmanship put into Journey, every detail thought out. Love the woodwork.

Another great video on a truly outstanding van. I was disappointed that I didn't get a chance to talk with Mark at Vanarama, so this video helped make up for it.edit: Journey won Best of Show and Flying Eagle Awards at the 50th Van Nationals in Sterling Colorado in 2023. I did get a chance to talk and hangout with Mark at that time.

Beautiful van, love that she has solid side and rear doors. Although I am a g10 fan and have a 66 chevy g10 van and a 69 GMC handivan 108, ihada 62 Econoline panel van and a 66 dodge a100 panel van and I loved them both

Hi Mark. Thanks for the cool video. Journey is amazing!
In the late 70s, I had a 1961 Falcon/Econoline. It was previously owned by my college roommate, a master of all things mechanical. The van featured a completely rebuilt suspension, i.e., it ended up with fat 60/50 series tires, on Keystone Classics, on big leaf springs and a Galaxy front end and a lifted body. After Jim sold it to me, I continued to add lots of love... wall-to-wall carpet, a bed with an actual matteress, stereo that rocked, etc. I knew every nut and bolt. Could swap the engine all by myself in a few hours using a sheet of plywood and a floor jack! But why am I telling all this mush, right?
While you were (rightfully) bragging about the lovely Journey, there was an Econoline in the background that was painted very similar to the one that I miss so much: Dogshit brown with a white roof. Who could imagine that two different vans would somehow end up being painted the same goofy colors?
I would love to know more about that van behind you or others. Is there a central Econoline list kept someplace or do I need to sift through what I can fined on various sites? Do you guys have a forum that works well?
Thinking I might need to add another Econoline rebuild to my bucket list starting as soon as I can find a decent van out there. Retired now, need a new bad habit.

did you just widen the lower part of the motor box? and where did you get the breaks?

Only thing I'd change is the wheels and I'd cruise the roads for sure especially if it had a nice bed for naps a lay overs traveling

My dad had a 89 Econoline with the 4.9 straight six in it. She was such a reliable van. Unfortunately it was wrecked in a car accident because of a drunk driver 🤦‍♂️

Hey Mark. This is kind of a confusing video to comment on. I hope you receive this. I'm not sure if this is your channel, or if this is your video on another channel? My step grandfather's last name was Loope. He worked his life way at poplar Grove sugar plantation, on the south side of the old bridge in Port Allen. His brother's name is Dudley. Where are all located across the river now. Contact me back if you get this, you might be some distant step kin ha ha.
