The reason you tested so high in 7 but didn’t necessarily connect with it because of the emotional part of it, is because you’ve got a healthy 7 part of you. That portion you disagreed with was for unhealthy 7s. My mom is a less healthy 7 and she struggles with feeling negative emotions and it’s caused issues in the family, for sure. Being able to feel that stuff is super important.

I feel like Jack could be a therapist, the way he thinks is amazing and unique
That’s true, but the only problem is that he has too much empathy. You need to have a certain degree of detachment in order to become a therapist. Otherwise, you can easily become overwhelmed by thinking of everyone else’s problems all the time. If your client is crying and you also start crying, you’re not gonna be able to help them.
I say this as a college student studying to become a therapist. I used to have the same problem (as well as the intense desire to “fix” people that Jack mentions also having in the video), but I’ve learned to overcome these in order to improve my mental health and become better at helping others. Don’t get me wrong - I think Jack is amazing at helping people in his own ways, but I don’t think he’d enjoy being a therapist. It’s hard work trying to fix something as complicated as the emotions and psyche of human beings.

I know a lot of people die inside when they are said to be “adult-like” but Jack seriously radiates knowledge. He may not know it all but he knows himself, understands others, and is willing to learn more. He’s one of the most adult-like people I’ve seen and that’s saying stuff because I’ve seen older people behave like children when it comes to emotions and understanding others.
What does adult like even mean when nobody actually has any idea what they are doing.

Your advice and sharing your experiences...It's kinda nice seeing that successful people like you have the same struggles that I have. From someone who is super into the enneagram there’s a few things I’d love for anyone interested to know!
1. The enneagram is a tool for self-realization and growth so typing yourself correctly is always a good thing! I suggest reading about your top 3 results on the Enneagram Institute to make sure you’re correctly identifying your core type.
2. The main consensus is that people are the same type throughout their whole life, however there are complexities that may make you feel like you also connect with other types. This might be because of your wing, or because each type moves towards a different type at points of stress or growth.
3. Your wing is the type directly to the left or the right of your core type that helps you more closely relate to who you are. For example, if you’re a type 2, your wing is either type 1 or type 3. Whichever of the two you relate most closely to is your wing. Some people have a very definitive wing and others do not. You scored high on type 3 so there is a possibility that you could be a 2w3!
4. There are also subtypes (sexual, social, and spiritual) that may make you feel like you don’t fully relate to your core type. Reading about that is a great way to understand yourself and your core motivations!
5. How the types handle emotions is split into triads (shame, fear, and anger). Type 2 is in the shame triad which means they often deal with feelings of guilt. The triads are a great way to understand how you process emotion, and how you can work on controlling your impulses!

Fun psychology fact: Personality tests are very unreliable as they tend to be very vague, so as to fit a broad range of people.
Personal fun fact: I am a One on the enneagram test. The Perfectionist, which fits with Birth Order Theory as I am the eldest child. It also fits with my generalized anxiety disorder, as I tend to try to be perfect so as to alleviate some of that intense anxiety.
ALSO for anyone who doesn't know, the band Sleeping At Last has a song for each enneagram type. They are all beautiful and you should really take a listen!

I think the accuracy of personality tests just dwindle over the time since you last took one. Because your personality changes over time. The best ones are Myer Briggs, and this one seemed decent although a little vague with the questions sometimes.

Hi Jack! As someone obsessed with personality tests and self reflection I've taken the enneagram many a times. I go back and forth between 9 and 5, ultimately understanding that the former is more likely as the basic need is to have inner peace/stability, but have more recently discovered tritypes within the enneagram are a thing. I'm a 945, which means I relate heavily to types 9, 4 and 5. I love that because I don't always feel I fit into one box.
So cool to find out your strengths in the 2 and 3 though!

Listening to Sean talk about this stuff is very, very comforting. It reminds me that I'm just going through the motions of life, that what I'm experiencing is normal and I won't be stuck in my current mentality and personality forever.
It's a nice wake-up call; a gentle reminder that life is fluid. We get to experience different stages of life in different ways. It's just... nice.
It's also awesome that we get to see a bit of his own personal growth too! Reminds us that he's just as human as we are, regardless of his "status."

I implore you to continue your research with the enneagram, whether it’s on TH-cam or on your own time. It is a great and useful tool to further your understanding of yourself and those close to you. It is about seeing and acknowledging the great and not so great sides of yourself and learning how to work towards a healthier you. You being a Type 2 ENFP makes a lot of sense. You're an enjoyable little ball of chaos with recurring highs and lows who genuinely goes out of his way to be compassionate and helpful towards others. This is a wonderful pairing and really shows you in a good light.

@@archimedeskilman2051 it's because the enneagram it's an actual very professional work of psychology that's probably been studied deeper than most other personality models out there, although keep in mind it has caused controversy among psychologists, the accuracy of the test is high and the reasons are well documented in several books
