this is my absolute favourite series. i frequently rewatch it while doing longer tasks, it’s genuinely just such a joy. the conversational tone, the genuine guffaw laughs it draws out of me…11/10 thank u Mr The Jobber
He must be subjected to more 2000 WCW! That's where cart has well and truly come off the tracks and is also on fire. It broke him last time, it could do again.
Re. you saying "It probably didn't cause back stage heat and was probably Foley's idea", it's covered in Mick's first autobiography that Rock went way beyond what they'd agreed and, as also covered in Beyond the Mat, Foley's little kids were in the front row watching him get beaten bloody, and further that Rock didn't come check in on how Mick was doing later back stage so it did cause heat between them.
Ya, I thought it was a pretty well known incident. I love Jack’s videos, always entertaining af, but that aside surprised me. I don’t blame him too much tho, since wrestling is basically just decade after decade worth of crazy-ass stories! I couldn’t do his job! ❤
@@iglesiasjibboom6477 I guess it's well known for a certain generation of fans. I'm surprised that Jack wouldn't have read Foley's first book, but he's also a decade younger than me so will have a whole different history with watching.
I don't think this guy was old enough to have seen this at the time, just another review out of context from someone who can't comprehend what the world was like in 1999
Dude yes a weirdest PPV episode. I have been waiting so long for a new one. Jack is a national treasure. Plus this episode is over an hour long. I’m so stoked for this!!! Just kinda pissed that it comes out now cause I’m literally walking into work and have to wait 8 hours to watch this beautiful 99’ royal rumble video.
The second I saw there was another Weirdest Shows episode I stopped the other video I was thoroughly enjoying, and switched right over. My next hour is set!
I usually just immediately click on these videos cuz they’re just phenomenal, and then after 10 minutes in, I realized I have another 50 minutes to go and couldn’t be happier :)
It took me so long to realize this but does anybody else realize that in the whole Rock/Mankind title feud, there was NOT ONE successful title defense? And no, the technicality at Rock Bottom doesn't count.
Hey don't worry, I only watch one TH-cam video at a time, and more often than not watch it all the way through. Crazy, I know. My ADHD presents itself in much more autistic ways.
45:47 I can't remember where I saw it, probably in the Beyond the Mat documentary, but JR was on the headset, feeding lines to Cole and King during the PPV.
Crazy that Vince won but I understand being that the theme of this Rumble was called No Chance in Hell I thought it was fun plus Chyna making history as the first woman to enter the Rumble & the I Quit Match was insane between The Rock & Mankind those chair shots mankind took was absolutely horrendous overall I thought the ppv was ok
It remains hilarious to me that 'Taker got Mable into the ministry so he wouldn't have to face him and risk having his face crushed again. Completely understandable and hilarious.
(EDIT) ..aaaaaand now I want Mansteiner as a canon WWE character. Heck, his son signed an NIL deal, there we go! Yeah, I totally lost a dollar thanks to those orderlies. We'd use to bet on specific aspects of the show (without looking at the dirt sheets before hand or results), and I watched my dollar get up and walk out on its own. There is nothing quite as bad as listening to twenty of your friends laugh at you and wave a dollar bill in your face, you know?
We need it so Triple H enters the rumble at 30, manages to win (why not?), triple threat for cody vs gunther vs Triple H, winner take call to unify all belts
This might be absolutely pathetic, but I really liked throwing in the trivia, like about the extra being the head of security, or the one about what Tori's up to these days.
I watched this show live and even back then those chair shots from the Rock were awful. I remember thinking as it was happening what is the Rock doing and why is no one stopping him?
Tbh (in reference to the chair shots on Foley) it wasn't a big deal at the time as far as being appalling. I was 15 at the time and had been watching since before the debut of RAW. It was effective, yes, but it wasn't anything like "That's immoral" or anything like that.
this is my absolute favourite series. i frequently rewatch it while doing longer tasks, it’s genuinely just such a joy. the conversational tone, the genuine guffaw laughs it draws out of me…11/10 thank u Mr The Jobber
Agree
I still love how it was Takers idea to put Mable in the ministry so none of them had to work with him in a match or program.
That's absolutely brilliant
when you said michael cole on commentary in 1999 i was SHOCKED. i forget sometimes how insanely long he has been with wwe
Why didn’t JR do commentary that night ?
JR had bells palsy and was out for a while
Yup.... And he accidentally gave away the result of the main event of WM15 that year!
@@LeRoiEnJauneat mania i think, he said when selling austin merch that he was the new wwe champion
the longer the video the more chaotic and unhinged Jack becomes and I truly live for it every time.
He must be subjected to more 2000 WCW! That's where cart has well and truly come off the tracks and is also on fire. It broke him last time, it could do again.
reminder that Jack was a 2x DDT Ironman Heavymetalweight Champion

Jack calling Edge "Cope" from this time period is hilarious.
watching this ppv requires a lot of cope
Big Bossman wasn’t a policeman. He was a corrections officer. He worked at a prison.
I don't think this guy was old enough to have seen this at the time, just another review out of context from someone who can't comprehend what the world was like in 1999

I see those 8 hours have passed now, happy watching!
Its called the f'in dancy punch and dancy knee.
Only giant robot monsters dont know that ....
Only saved because he showed proper respect to Steve Mufuggin Blackman.
Yes! These are class. Love the weirdest ppv videos
If it wasn’t for the WWE title between Mankind and The Rock. This would be the Worst Royal Rumble PPV.
Absolutely love this series. Another banger of an episode Jack!
This was awesome! Great work Jack!
That was not a rumble. That was Steve vs Vince with 28 wrestlers in between...
Yeah it was great, Austin Vs Vince was a great rivalry
@Springstill It wasn't
As a story, good
As a Royal Rumble match, absolute 💩
Road Dogg’s “Dusty Rhodes-inspired” moves are now known as the Dancy Punch and Dancy Knee thanks to Wrestling Bios.
Love these, cheers Jack.
My favorite series ! I needed this today
I remember watching the Raw after this as a kid and thinking “but how did Austin and Shawn know that Vince would give up the title shot”
1:12 this is when I realized that this was the Rumble that Vince booked himself to win lmao
Very well done sir. In depth, funny and much more than I deserved. I 100% appreciate the effort put in. Kudos 👍
The best series on cultaholic is back baby hell yea Jack
I definitely won’t be surprised if Mick Foley got CTE from all those chairshots from The Rock.
I mean he’s still licking Vince’s ass so probably
I mean he’s still kissing Vince’s ass so probably
The documentaries are top notch but this is my favorite series on the channel 😂
The second I saw there was another Weirdest Shows episode I stopped the other video I was thoroughly enjoying, and switched right over. My next hour is set!
I never get tired of that funky jingle at the start 👌
This was my first WWF ppv i rented at my nearest rental store. Use to do enjoy this till the ending, much like Summerslam 2003.
It’s called the “dancy punch” and dancy knee drop “
I remember in the beyond the mat mick even said he did more than planned on chair shots and the documentary shows his horrified family good lord
"We're all in our own individual feuds with Shane McMahon"
That line made me laugh so hard my wife had to check if I was okay.
Billy Gunn and Rikishi should have been a tag team "First Class Asses"
9:19 because it’s a joke of a profession, but man do you pull it off so well, and I hope you continue to do so.
Great video as always Jack!
Hey Jack ! I'd love to see you review Ring Ka King as a whole, there were not a lot of shows, but all of them had some weird stuff !
I absolutely LOVED the insider baseball with The Undertaker saying "Do you want to play Dominoes with me and the Godfather after the show" line...
Jack I can’t believe how well you did the dnd intro there lmao
I usually just immediately click on these videos cuz they’re just phenomenal, and then after 10 minutes in, I realized I have another 50 minutes to go and couldn’t be happier :)
the jab about having too many long form video tabs open hit too close to home. Damn those computer updates
More weirdest episodes, let’s goooooooooooooo
I remember 1999 I liked as a kid but as I have grown up it's crazy to me and definitely 2nd most controversial PPV
Weirdest episodes is the best series on Cultaholic
If it weren't for the Mankind vs. The Rock "I Quit" match then the Royal Rumble 1999 would've complete 🗑️.
I would so watch a Cultaholic DND campaign
Jack does it AGAIN. 👏👏👏
So glad to see Jack back at the helm for this.
The D&D segment was unexpected but much appreciated 😂
15:07 whenever delivered before it became his finish, JR called it the Rocker Dropper; Billy's finish at the time was your run-of-the-mill piledriver.
41:45 how can you not love the oddities theme "hands like this , hands like this " good ol' icp
Vince winning meant nothing in the end.
It took me so long to realize this but does anybody else realize that in the whole Rock/Mankind title feud, there was NOT ONE successful title defense? And no, the technicality at Rock Bottom doesn't count.
4:35 Needs more Bret Hart saying “shut up.”
65 minutes of Jacks weird anxious energy turned up to 20? Brilliant
Hey don't worry, I only watch one TH-cam video at a time, and more often than not watch it all the way through. Crazy, I know. My ADHD presents itself in much more autistic ways.
It must suck to have not even experienced the time period you are attempting to review. I never thought about it like that until just now.
Rumble 99 is one of the worst Rumble PPVs of all time. Funny because the next year, Rumble 2000 is one of the best Rumble PPVs of all time.
Another banger from our man Jack the Jobber!
Vince Russo is like the main villain of “The Weirdest Shows” series 13:12
Host sucks. Dogging the days when wrestling crowds were awesome! We yelled cause this was the attitude era homeboy and u wanted blood. Cane Dewey son!
24:00 Man, Jack, why'd you have to call me out that way.
Hahahahah why was he so on point with that Rock impression
5:30 I got into wrestling right as Vince McMahon was leaving the WWE and right as HHH took over 😂
Damn man, you've missed so much good shit. I've been watching since the old World of Sport days. The 90's was like a shot in the arm.
@UKProgRock bruh, I'm born in 1999
@@lancergt1000 thanks for making me feel old 😂
16:30 you’re thinking of Wrestling With Wregret
Before the end of 1999 Ryan Shamrock was in WCW, she valeted for short-lived comedy heel the Maestro. I think she was called Symphony or something.
34:54 i heard Foley said he wanted only 3 chair shots. Rock did 10 in front of mick Foleys family. Rock never apologies for this. Rock is a POS.
Austin = Sable isn't even a hot take tbh. Lol anybody watching during that time wouldn't even argue with you.
45:47 I can't remember where I saw it, probably in the Beyond the Mat documentary, but JR was on the headset, feeding lines to Cole and King during the PPV.
Yes my favorite content there is
Did you just quote Billy Gunn's theme?
Crazy that Vince won but I understand being that the theme of this Rumble was called No Chance in Hell I thought it was fun plus Chyna making history as the first woman to enter the Rumble & the I Quit Match was insane between The Rock & Mankind those chair shots mankind took was absolutely horrendous overall I thought the ppv was ok
The "hardcore fish in a big pond" bit was a reference to the venue (Arrowhead Pond)
Oh shit, I didn't realize this was here. It's literally my main event of the evening now.
😄👍
Oh weirdest episodes where do i even begin
I for one have always loved the bullrope post point matches
For some reason it's hilarious to me how British people say 1999. Its almost like water bottle.
23;20 made me 😂😂😂
It remains hilarious to me that 'Taker got Mable into the ministry so he wouldn't have to face him and risk having his face crushed again. Completely understandable and hilarious.
Gilberg is fuckin hilarious
(EDIT) ..aaaaaand now I want Mansteiner as a canon WWE character. Heck, his son signed an NIL deal, there we go!

18:43 is absolute gold.
This feels like I'm watching Wrestling With Wregret's Classic PPV Review...
This series got me over covin
Had this on VHS as a kid
Now I want to see the D&D campaign with the Dungeon of Doom
Good to see respect upon Steve muffugin Blackman
19:09 Transylvania mention! 🇷🇴🇷🇴🇷🇴
Bossman was a former corrections officer, not a police officer.
Viscera made a powerful enemy in Shin Blackman on this day.......
18:46 - I genuinely thought that's one of the Bucks.
I watched this show live and even back then those chair shots from the Rock were awful. I remember thinking as it was happening what is the Rock doing and why is no one stopping him?
32:22 you aren't slick editor Luke
Lol unless I'm mistaken there is an obvious lighter entrant than X-Pac BUT it's also Sean Waltman, in his baby form as the 1-2-3 Kid
Gillberg is literally in this rumble............ he's lighter than Xpac surely
I would recommend Survivor Series 2005 as a weird one.
There needs to be a Weirdest AEW dynamite episode. Show all elite some love.
Wasn't Francois also Sub-Zero in Mortal Kombat?
Tbh (in reference to the chair shots on Foley) it wasn't a big deal at the time as far as being appalling. I was 15 at the time and had been watching since before the debut of RAW. It was effective, yes, but it wasn't anything like "That's immoral" or anything like that.
Feel like Jack had to job to the Road Dogg at somepoint given the level of hate!
Austin should’ve won the 1999 and 2002 Royal Rumbles
The corporate elbow is the 11th
