Got in a motorcycle crash in 2006 put me out of the oil field use to work on Ensco rig 98 in the Gulf Of Mexico was the derrickman on that rig for 8 years and I miss it Thanks Rocking T for the trip back in memory lane.🤠
Good job holding onto them stands.. i know its a topdrive and all but man do a little work will help your goofball hands.. it whips a lot when the driller sucks the blocks back. You better than 99% of the other drilling rig hands ive seen trying to show off, stop latching.. you tha real deal G
@@Garda1962 that was probably an excellent move on your part. I definitely enjoy working derricks on drilling rigs but like with everything there are plenty of down sides to it.
About 93’ on average on length, and this is after drilling the hole, and tripping out to change the drill bit or bottom hole assembly and going back in to continue drilling operations.
@@willhenderson3602 was 4 1/2 if I remember right. A lot of guys don’t use a tail rope out that far but I looked to easy ways of doing things for me and that just always seemed to work. Thank you for your comment 🤠
@86joelt u fid good i am old school from the 70s wildcatted east texas ran caseing in sonora tx top drive super fer away worked on texs first caseing rig in lower cetral texs. Worked almost all positions did help driller once in awhile b4 osha got really testy. Was oil field trash then oil field class the stages of it all compund rig diesel electric with a SCR building liked motors a little better tho

Yes sir, working with an old buddy from unit rig 105. He was drilling on this rig and knew that I liked it as fast as he could safely go.
1980-1986 music to my ears! Then I got into the Plumbers / Pipefitters union, enjoying fat retirement checks now with lots of life left,I hope!😊
