I met a guy once when I had my dreads that showed me this technique. He learnt from a lady in Thailand. Haven’t watched the whole video yet. But he also showed me a way to tuck them through the base once the dreads were tight. To keep them tight at the root. Had mine for a little over 8 years. Great to see others using this method. Thanks for sharing bro. 🤘🏻
Nice. Wish i was located near you. Im in Vancouver Canada and been wanting dreads for a while. Iam native American with long hair. Wpuld love to have some dreads one day. Or corn rows.
@@tokujinsicura2190 Yes it's very common for new dreads to be fuzzy. It takes 6 months to a year for them to mature. And before that time frame they tend to look more fuzzy.
I feel like this is exactly what im doing. Idk its def harder doing ur own dreds. Really, it's just my roots and the fuzzy hairs on my dreds i cant stand. Any tips?
@@tommygun803 Practice on fake hair that's not on your head until you get the method down really good. Then you probably have a better time on your own hair.
Ok ty. I really think its my shampoo i get from dredhead hq. It used to be good now it just makes my hair soft. Which shampoo would u use to make the dreds tighter? Ive had my dreds 3yrs btw @thedreadguru
You can. It's very difficult. Once you learn the method pretty good on some synthetic dreads or someone else. You can do it on yourself it's more or less feeling it, So it takes a lot of practice. Once I get my dreads back I will do a video trying to show me doing it on myself.
@@thedreadguru that would be great, looking forward for that video. The top of my head i can do slowly, but when i do the back of my head, then my arms struggle both with the technique and keeping my arms up
THE only video that's made every step super 'straightforward' to learn... thanks!

And r rubber bands at the roots good for ur dreds.
@@tommygun803 No. I don't ever use rubber bands or tell people to use rubber bands. Crochet hook only can fix all of the hair that's out of the dread.
Is it common for starter dreads to get frizzy? I crocheted mine, and they came out super clean, but they get frizzy when I wash them

@tommygun803 I use Dr.Bronner for shampoo. It's full of organic oils that help the dreads stay super clean and loc up.
@thedreadguru is there a certain Dr. Bonner you use or just use any one of Dr. Bonner
@@triniharris5797 I just get the liquid soap and any scent you prefer. 😎🤙🏼
